What Grinds your Gears, part 2

People not knowing how to play the priest class in Warcraft properly grinds my gears.

The other day, I'm playing as one of my low alts and I have a priest that's healing us. When a mob is targeting them, they perform "fear" to make them run away. Of course, when they run away, if they head into the direction of other mobs that have yet to be aggroed by us, they'll get aggroed and attack us. Thus, causing our group to wipe.

Priests have an ability called Fade, which changes the target of the enemy off of them and onto another person of the party. They've had this ability since level 24 and they're 74. I don't want to hear "I didn't know I have that ability," because that is a bullshit excuse.

As a vanilla player who mains a priest, this gets really freaking annoying in which it makes me want to go hop back onto my priest and show them, "This is how you properly play as a priest."

Of course when I asked if they have Fade, the person didn't answer. I ended up creating a "Vote to kick" and got him to leave the group. The rest of the players agreed that they were a piss poor healer since they used fear instead of fade. This isn't rocket science, you literally have every move telling you what it does when you hover your curser over the icon.

I'm going to add to this with another issue I really hate in WoW and that's when I see people getting carried. Two instances I encountered where someone was getting carried. NO ONE likes when someone is doing that to their character when you're doing an instance run with four random people.

Once I had a hunter carrying a rogue who was on follow the entire time. The moment I asked if they were going to participate, the hunter replied that they're AFK (away from keyboard). Please don't queue up then. The warrior in the group didn't like that he was basically carrying someone. So he leaves. My boyfriend and I were trying to reason with the hunter that this is basically ridiculous. So the hunter decides to start grabbing every enemy to make us wipe. The moment she and her AFK husband were about to get kicked, she grabs more enemies. I hate that you cannot specifically report them for doing that because it's the dumbest move ever.

Again today, another carried rogue is following the tank. He gets kicked from the group and the tank goes, "Good call" and leaves. Seriously? You're playing with three other people who wants to have every member in the group to participate. If you seriously want to carry someone, ask your guild to queue up. I am not responsible for helping someone who doesn't do jack shit in the group. That is not how I play.

You want to waste $15 per month doing nothing but being one cheap idiot? Be my guest, but do not include me. I will not tolerate it and I will act as a douche to get my way to stop that.

My goddamn running back fumbling the pigskin a yard short of the End Zone, costing me 8 points in the process because it went out of bounds in the end zone for a touchback!

Go f*** yourself, Matt Jones (RB, Redskins)! Your ass is fired as of next Wednesday!

I'm definitely about to go in on this one.
You wanna know what really grinds my gears? Satisfying stories getting a continuation!

With TLOU 2 pretty much confirmed, I see so many people saying it should continue the story of Joel and Ellie. I think that would be completely stupid seeing how the story ended. Anything they add to their story from here on out would be either just their average life or another unnecessary adventure.

The forms of media that have to take the biggest L from this are Anime and Manga.

Sailor Moon ended perfectly after the Beryl Arc. They could've literally ended the series with that. What did they do instead? They added a filler arc (which I personally liked) and 4 more seasons. I know people like the Outer Sailors and all, but they just don't stand up to the story of Beryl. The other villians felt pretty unnecessary. They really weren't needed and as far as I see it, the series ended with Episode 46.

The Legend of Korra was a fantastic show imo. When Season 4 was coming, I marathoned the first 3 books. After watching half of Book 4, I stopped. That book is literally straight filler and had NOTHING to do with the past 3 books other than that time they showed Zaeed (I hope that was his name because I forgot). I literally see Book 4 and just a filler book to this day and it's my least favorite in the series.

For Dragon Ball, we have Dragon Ball GT. Need I say more on that?

With Higurashi, I saw no reason for anything after Kai. Rei was ok, but don't get me started on Kira.

Death Note was notorious for the fight between Light and L. When they brought in Near and began the new arc, I just couldn't deal. I consider that non-canon. Apparently, everyone else agrees seeing how only the manga and Anime actually sport this story arc. The live action shows and many fanfics complete skip over this arc and its characters.

Bleach. After defeating Aizen and losing his powers, that should've been the end right their. Why did they need to add these new story arcs which have pretty much just come out of the blue.
Spoiler:
Did they need to kill people off that badly that they couldn't just let Ichigo completely separate from that life forever? Could they not just leave it ambiguous? The anime did well with ending the series, but I would they would've did that right after the Aizen Arc instead.
I really hate that it is currently continuing now. It ended with Aizen's arc for me.

Naruto Shippuuden. I was ok with Naruto ending after his fight with Sasuke in the Original. I also love the continuation with Shippuuden. I would've loved to see it resolve after Pein's death as that felt like a true ending to me. But when they got to the War arc
Spoiler:
Why in the crap did they need to add in so many different after plots? It should've just ended with Naruto's fight against Tobi. Did we really need him to also fight Madara (who turns out to actually have always been alive), the creator of Chakra (who pretty much came from No Where and has no true need for being in the story of NARUTO), and Sasuke (whom he was allied with WHILE FIGHTING TOBI). Not only that, but low and behold, Naruto happened to be the "Chosen One." After all of that, he should be the Hokage of the Leaf Village, he should be Hokage of the world. What kind of bull crap is that?

I'm getting tired of typing now, so I'm just gonna start listing the Anime, Movies, and Games that I believe should've ended earlier than they did.
-Dangan Ronpa (The First Game)
-Battle Royale (First Movie)
-Hunger Games (Second Movie after Katniss Winning or Losing, not for the cliffhanger)
-Final Fantasy X (With the First Game)
-Halo (End with the Original Trilogy and Spin-Offs)
-Mortal Kombat (Armageddon Much?)
-Mortal Kombat Movie (One Movie per VG Franchise please)
-Call of Duty: Black Ops (This third Game doesn't even seem to have story)
-Star Wars (I'm not lying, this may change win I actually watch the Movies)
-Taken (I'm just saying, how many times can you get taken?)
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Why was 3 even created?)
-Disney Movies (Disney produces the most horrible Sequels possible. I'm not talking Marvel and Star Wars, I'm talking about the classics)
-Splinter Cell Blacklist (Granted, I still need to play Blacklist, from the bit of story I know, they didn't need to continue Sam Fisher's story after conviction. Sarah was back Alive and Well, he was already old. They should've let him retire)
-Yugioh (This ended after the first series for me)
-Pokémon (It should've ended after Ash Lost in the tournament where he beat Gary. The other Seasons could've been from the POV of other trainers)
-Sonic X (Did we really need that Meterex Arc? I only saw 3 episodes from it: The first, the second, and the last.)
-Gears of War (What the crap do we need Gear 4 for? The Locust threat is over. I smell a Sailor Moon route coming for this game)

There are a lot more, they just aren't coming to mind right now.

Season 4 was definitely necessary. Zaheer literally broke Korra. The villains before had come close to beating Korra, but Zaheer was within seconds of murdering her. He completely traumatized the girl, how could they end it there?

That show aside, I do agree with your point. If you've ever watched Mortal Kombat Legacy, the show represents this beautifully. Albeit by accident. The ending was absolutely incredible, even though it was going to be changed in season 2 (which never happened)

Also bugs me with Mass Effect 4. The ending of 3 was one where conflict was near inconceivable. There are no details yet, but I really don't see how they can explain how any sort of trouble can occur when the galaxy is being protected by the literal grim reapers of existence. Still optimistic though.

kadell

i agree on every front aside from Korra and MK sorta(if it ended after armageddon then we wouldn't have the badass reboot that was mk9)

others i would add

God of War (it should've ended after 3)
Halo (Same as above)
Ratchet and Clank(I love the to death but i somewhat question the need for a reboot but i'm not complaining too much)
Uncharted(like last of us they could've left it alone after 3)
Killzone(what was the point of shadow fall again?)
Infamous 2(if you were gonna make a new infamous with a new protagonist at least use the evil ending that would've made the game significantly more interesting)
Rosario vampire (im not even gonna comment on the second season)

This Patrick Kane rape case is seriously starting to aggravate me with how strange it's becoming.

I am not on anyone's side. I've somewhat thought that the woman was nothing more but a person who wants her fifteen minutes of fame and now her attorney is quitting. The story is fabricated and there's basically nothing anyone can do now but basically call a mistrial or whatever? I cannot see how anyone tampered with anything, especially in a case like this. Do I think that there's been a rape? No. I do however, think that there was something and of course we'll never know. I don't want to know at this point because it's just more bologna to feed to this weird ass story.

I am a huge Blackhawks fan but I am in no way supporting Kane. People freaking idolize you, respect you as a professional hockey player and a damn good one. So what do you do to return the favor of all of your fans for supporting you? Turn to do stupid, idiotic things to get yourself in a position that could basically break your career with a snap of fingers. He's not that much older than I am, and he continues to act as if he's a freshman away at college discovering that their parents have no hold over them and that they can attend so many parties. You're a professional athlete who has a contract that could literally end everything for you the moment you do something stupid, which he already did before. I feel that if he does one more stupid thing, that's it. Does he purposely get himself into these issues? Not necessarily, but one should have better common sense when you're in a position that has you being rich and famous and an eye catcher towards the ladies.

Again, this story is just one bizarre story that I just don't wish to follow anymore. I hope it ends soon because I would like to enjoy the Hawks' season despite I truly think they're not going to have a good one this year. Gut instinct.

The parts with Korra trying to break from the trauma were excellent. That was the stuff I was looking forward to. However, a majority of Book 4 wasn't about that (I think it was only for 3-4 episodes I think). The "Earth Kingdom Dictator" thing was kinda unnecessary. Also, they hardly showed Korra off that much in Book 4 (at least the first 8 episodes) and it didn't have the the same feel as the first 3 books. I call it filler because it literally felt like Korra was taking a back seat while an (imo) unnecessary war plot occurred.

With Mass Effect 4, it's now called Andromeda. From what I read, it's set in a new solar system away from the Reaper Threat (which makes me question why everyone didn't just go to a different solar system). The backstory occurs around the time of ME2 after humans hear Shepard's warnings. They decide to enact a "just incase" plan to start migrating human colonies in a different Solar System to help advance the human race (which might have been what made the Reaper choose Humans rather than the Asari for their main harvesting). So technically, the events and choices of ME3 have no real impact on MEA.

Fanboys. Specifically Witcher 3 fanboys. Now I hope Witcher 3 doesn't win any GOTY Awards just to piss the fanboys off.

Another is When people keep comparing Fear the Walking Dead to The Walking Dead. Fear is not suppose to be a carbon copy of the main show. It was already stated before the show came out that we'd be at the initial stages of the outbreak, therefore of course we'll barely see any Zombies. Finally, I know all of these "Fans" are the people who came in around season 4 who keep making these complaints. The first 2 seasons of the Walking Dead barely got to the human vs human aspect until late S2, so why the crap would you expect the "Fear" spin-off to show Zombie brawls and explosions when it takes place in the same exact timespan that Rick has gotten shot, which is 3 weeks before the Zombie rates were high.

fanboys of all kinds piss me off (especially souls and console fanboys)
i seem to get a sadistic satisfaction hen something bad happens to the game or console they're championing because of that

The Witcher 3 is one of the better games I played in the past couple of years, but I don't care so much about awards and popularity. I remember people acting like Skyrim was the ultimate RPG, but I found it disappointing.

On a related note, I never get people that take too much stock in review scores. They are arbitrary values that don't measure anything concrete. They are a reflection of the author's biases and not much else. Sadly, there are people whose purchases hinge on review scores, like never buying a game with a score below 8/10.

I feel ya on #1 Critical-Limit.
Feminists these days seem to be more like misandrists using the veil of "feminism" to get away with man-hating, and it's stupid.

Another pet-peeve that I have is also blind console fanboys / fangirls.
Look, I get it that you may like something that the company does or some exclusives, but blindly defending some shit that you know is terrible is what makes people fanboys (or fangirls), and that shit is getting annoying these days.
I have equally b****ed and moaned about the shit that Sony does wrong, as I have with Microsoft.
DRM? Hated the idea of it.
PSNow? Still hate the idea of that shit.
PSN defaulting to putting links to Destiny and other featured content on my PS4? Hate that shit. (I know how to disable it, but still.)
Havok physics engine being bought out by Microsoft? Hate that shit, as them monopolizing it benefits no one else but Microsoft in the long-run, and 90% of the games being made use it.

console fanboyism is so stupid. It's complete derived from the "Don't make me feel dumb" Ego trip. Someone has a criticism they personally don't like for the other console. Someone is immediately offended because it "sounds" like they made a bad decision if they chose something with a negative connotation to it.

They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I just think sony deserves my money for more reasons that are precious to me personally. I know some people don't care about giving up their liberties to companies, that's fine. that's a deal breaker for me.

i find console wars funny in contrast due to the fact that some of these "troops" are adult acting like children

what bugs me to no end regarding consoles in general is when the company with the leading console gets overly complacent (Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft are guilty for this)

look i know you're only a buisness out to make money but damn at least give us a reason to keep lining your pockets with money sou you can stay at the top

I bickered about this in the "Just talk" thread, but about these feminists... I'm really sick and tired of Anita Sarkeesian, and even more furious that the UN even bothered to listen to this tramp and her little precious, Zoe Quinn, talk about how horrible people treat her online. There's more important things in the world they should care about. Hurt feelings caused by strangers should not be considered something that the UN needs to look heavily into. I know who Anita is, however I'm not that familiar with Quinn other than she's got some nudes out there.

Something tells me that I really should not be taking that woman seriously because of that.

They had the nerve to compare cyber violence to physical violence. That they're both as damaging as one another and I find that absolutely ridiculous. I'm pretty confident that a woman/man who has been in an abusive relationship with a person they thought they could trust would have a word or two to Anita and tell her how wrong she is. Being called stupid names by a kid over a headset is supposed to hurt as much as a vicious blow to the head? Seriously? Get the fvck out of here you jezebel.

This woman constantly acts as if she represents every single female gamer, but I can assure you, she does NOT represent me at all. She sits here and acts as if every single woman who dares tell people who they really are online are always bombarded with personal attacks and insults. When people realize that I'm really a woman behind the username "Kitty_1205" (Although I'm pretty sure it's not that hard to figure out who I am), the only thing that happens is nonstop meowing. Does that piss me off? No, I just make a face, roll my eyes, highlight their name in a menu and put them on mute. End of story, moving on.

But according to Anita, I'm supposedly attacked and insulted. Sure, I've had people, more so two, who have called me names such as "slut" or "foggot" (because spelling the actual word gets censored on this site) and "whore" and such. Do I get offended? No, and why the fvck should I? Am I ever going to come across this person in real life? Probably not. Will I even encounter this person again in another lobby? Most likely not.

These people do not represent me at all. I never appointed Anita to be my spokesperson, I honestly do not know who did. I'm tired of her acting as if she represents every single female gamer. You don't even have majority of the female gamers supporting you, hell, even respect you because of the actions you whip out when someone dares challenges you. We're supposed to hold hands and be one but there is no way I'm ever supporting anything this woman does. I refuse to work side by side with a person who is an attention whore, a hypocrite, a coward, a liar, and a plagiarist. I honestly would splash water in her face and tell her she's ugly if I ever met her personally.

But I'm pretty sure I'd get the cops called if I did that.
