Problems with MKAK...

Re: MKAK Problems that need to be fixed

The AI for MK II was always a joke. It countered every move you did. I found the only way to beat the AI was to jump back and bait the cpu with back jpk, or bait it out with certain specials.

P.S. Geo9875, that Homer/Hugo pic is freaking epic!!!

Re: MKAK Problems that need to be fixed

The horrible lag when you play online. Also when you pause the game during a fight then unpause your character is frozen for a few seconds while the CPU is going to town on you. There is alot of audio issues but I can honestly put up with that if they fix the lag.

As far as the problems, Online is really laggy and slow and UMK3 has crashed on me more than once
Make sure that before you go nipping on someone elses post to check yours before you post it. Here you are telling me that im complaining about MKAK because of the way it turned out but your commenting similar issues like us all

Well that is a debate, and you don't see me exacerbating my situation like you did.
There is nothing personal here.
I NEVER said The kollection was perfect, I just said you should appreciate what we have gotten.
Despite it's flaws, I still love what I have gotten.. Unlike you.
Also, if you had posted the rest of what I had said, I said everything else is super smooth.

Cage i understand what youre saying but ultimately the quality of this kollection falls directly in eds lap, whether NRS developed it or not. These MK games are his babies and isnt his title Creative Director or something like that? He oks anything MK related and he went out of his way several times to say how 'arcade perfect' these were and i cant see how these could be seen that way. As far as im concerned they all (nrs, other ocean) released these games in this state, so theyre all to blame for these QA issues

Re: MKAK Problems that need to be fixed

didnt buy it. i learned my lesson from mk9 to wait for lag patch. 360 version still desyncs such a letdown. ps3 version is much better online

OMG, all people here is talking too much bad things of this Kollection.
I saw some videos and I feel the game even looks worse than before, and the change of sounds is annoying (cmon? what's up with the Test Your Might sound?? or the kanoball or knife in MK1)

Also, I was reading the online is laggy so, at this moment there is no reason to get this.
It's a shame these guys can't port they own game well.

I said one time and I'll say again:

Fixed: You can now save your unlocked UMK3 fighters.
Added: You can now put multiple filters on your games, making them suit your liking.
Added: You can also make the screen look like it's in an arcade format.
Added: Online play for Mortal Kombat 1.

Lost: Fullscreen ability
Lost: Spectator mode

Glitches: A few minor sound bugs, computer attacking before "Fight" disappears of the screen sometimes, not being able to move after unpausing the game, not able to use kombat kodes online and lag online.

Glitches = patchable / fixable. And pretty easily, at that.
Lost = no big deal, really.
All in all, this -IS- a superior port than MKAT, you can now save your characters, play MK 1 and 2 online, and set up your filters to your liking.
Guys, seriously? OH, let's not forget: This also has a limited edition MK1 arcade stick. So if you bought the arcade stick with this game, you really lost nothing and shouldn't complain. If you straight up downloaded this game, relax, it was 10$. Give it a few weeks before going balls to the wall insane, and see what fixes they come up with. I'm sure they'll come up with something, they usually do patch/fix things, especially lag issues. For your own peice of mind, email Other Ocean.

But really, there's no reason to go hating on Ed Boon, or to bring Danny into this or anyone else. Other Ocean developed the game. Ed Boon probably briefly saw the game and had the same reaction we all did: "Nice port, better than MKAT". There's no reason to jump the gun. QA issues, yes, they probably should have play-tested better. But that's hard to do when you have deadlines. And deadlines are part of the industry.
Again, the beautiful thing is, there are always ways to patch things. So stop moaning on the forum, make a constructive thread (I think I saw one already, to whoever used my idea, good job!) and start being pro-active so the game receives the fixes it needs. Once those fixes are into place, you'll literally have as close of a port as you can get.
But even then I'm sure there's going to be something wrong with it, right? Like maybe Kitana's boobs are too big, or something. *rolls eyes*.
C'mon guys, seriously here.
It's OK to be constructive and to vent, but mkgame, for you to go off on those rants, it was a bit over the top.
If you're in love with SF go ahead and enjoy third strike. I'm a MK fanatic, and I'll be patient and wait for the guys who I have faith in and have always had faith in (The MK team) to at least patch up the lag, as let's face it, I am sure they will.

You guys always set your expectations far too high.
You can't just expect these guys to deliver an arcade machine to your door. And while yes, MAME is an amazing arcade perfect port, and while yes, I do see your frustration that a pirated arcade game is better quality than what's on consoles, keep in mind programming stuff on an emulator like MAME may be easier than doing it for a console operating system to read. The XBOX 360 / PS3 is a tad complex, you know?
I'm not by far a computer programmer so I do not understand how it works, but I've got enough common sense to realize that MAME emulating on a program (that, by the way, MAME took YEARS to make), and emulating for consoles where you have a corporate deadline, are two different things.
Vent your anger at corporate america, not at the guys who busted their asses to do their best in that short amount of time given to them. Be constructive and try to get patches made. If you're polite then these guys will work over the top for you, if you're rude and pissy, they'll be less inclined to do a good job even if a patch is 'demanded'. Think about it.

My only complaint so far is the sounds in MK1. The hit sounds and the monks clapping are awful. The arcade port of MK1 that came with the kollectors edition of MK Deception had great sounds so why couldn't they do it in this version???

That's a great question. Maybe it accidentally slipped in there, and was meant for the original HD collection? Again, with small deadlines, these things do tend to happen.

What are you, ed boons PR agent?

Not Ed Boon's PR agent. I'm just someone who 'gets it'. I use common sense. I also am appreciative of hard work when I see it. 6 months to emulate 3 games, plus give them online play and design / draw brand new menus and add multiple filters to each character / background? Plus re-code UMK3 to allow you to save your characters? Yeah, hard work, given you only have so much time in a day and time in general. Considering these guys had to scrap the HD remake MID PROCESS to get this done, I'd say they busted their asses.
I'm quite happy with it, and I'm very thankful for everyone who worked on it and I hope they do patch these issues, which, I am sure they will.

Stop, U R all hysterical. A revision Patch should be on the way. It COULD b worse. U could be waiting for those Phantom Klassic Fight Sticks on day 1 like me. Id love to be playing it right now. Or It could even be worse than that, u might not of got a MKAK at all. Maybe your Bar was too high to reach?? or whatever MK they ended up releasing was going to be scrutinized and crucified for minor glitches. It is a small garage developer after all. other ocean.

^ THANK YOUUUU!
Common sense, folks! These guys are a small operation, they are made up of free lance artists and they're still trying to GROW, so support them and their hard work, this is a REALLY GOOD port of the arcade originals! I'm overjoyed about this and I can't wait until the lag issue is fixed, because then it'll all be graavy especially with my Klassic Fight Stick! WOO! As for having to wait for it, it's not too bad, it kind of builds the hype up more lol.
I'm excited! :)
