Happy birthday! 9-15-98
I do this every year.
*If you have never heard this album, randomly pick a song and see what it does for you*
(Drained of our colors)
(Lots of pretty, pretty ones))
(I was just a boy playing the suicide king)
(la,la,la,la rock)
(Nervous systems down)
(Shoot myself to love you, if I loved myself I'd be shooting you)
(All the glitters cold *sung by Rose McGowan*)
(Love the abuse because it makes us feel like we are needed now)
(Norm life baby, rehabbed and ready for our 15 minutes of fame)
(I'm as fake as a wedding cake)
(When you love you know it's not real)
(Dogs slaughter each other softly, love burns its casualties, we are damaged provider modules, spill the seeds at our children's feet)
(You were from a perfect world)
This is one of my absolute favorite albums. I could tell you about how the day when I was in 8th grade buying this right after social studies class in Mr. Coslo's class. How I had my mom pick me up after class to go and get this. How there was a program on the internet (in 1998!) to let you remix songs and how I spent hours remixing User Friendly. How the jewel case was blue and if you opened the booklet there were yellow blocked out areas, and if you put the jewel case over those areas, you would find hidden red passages. How I downloaded a program on a 56k and listened to Posthuman weeks before the release and having my mom find this, and read the lyrics that came with. I can recite every lyric doing the dishes today. Priceless.
