Jason and Michael Mysers deconfirmed by Boon? (Hopefully)

idk know why people hate guest characters mk9 is really just the first 3 mks so any characters at all they add is going to be a guest character accept for Rain just be glad it wasnt mokap or tanya

I get your point. MK's story may not be as good as some other games that use story as a bigger factor.

But taste is an individual thing. One person may walk out of a movie, saying it was trash. That movie may still go on to develop a cult following. Probably one reason why the Saw franchise lasted as long as it did. The critics gave a mixed response to them, but seven films were made in total. There wasn't much of a story to them, but they kept trying to add to the tale each time. Some will see MK's story as trash. Others will value it for what it is.

There's no denying that NRS are trying to make Freddy fit into the game's story, but the fact that they didn't create the character's concept themselves is still a telling factor - he's being shoehorned in. When they made MK originally, they didn't know they would be making sequels 20 years later. MK's story has continued to develop (a reminder that taste is an individual thing), and Johnny Cage remains as a bit of a joke character. But at the very least, it is MK's own, unique brand of humour.

I dont see how Kenshi and Skarlet are guests, they belong to the MK universe, also they both appear in the story mode, you can see Skarlet many times in the 1st chapter when Shang Tsung is announcing the begining of the tournament and Kenshi is mentioned by Shang Tsung when Sub-Zero's is abducted by the Lin Kuei, he says "Next fight, Kenshi vs Reiko"

Krueger is a guest because he doesnt belong to the universe, his origin is not related to MK.

Story is a big factor in this game for me. Story makes me like a character or don't like them and it affects what characters I pick and decide to main.
That being said, I don't mind Freddy's inclussion and I'll be downloading him. But yeah, every person is different.

Guest characters are the next (relativly) new thing in beat 'em up's. I doubt that they were not in Street Fighter games due to it ruining them, it simply hadn't been thought of yet. What you've said is no proof at all.

Guest characters are somewhat new to fighting games in general. SF doesn't have any guest characters because the Marvel vs Capcom franchise exists...and the Capcom vs SNK franchise exists...not really a point in having guest characters in SF when there are entire games filled to the brim with guest characters already, lol.

As for Tekken, they're doing Tekken x Street Fighter. Not being able to include that game in your argument seems silly. It's like you want to prove your point without allowing people to disprove your point when evidence exists that goes against you, lol.

When you think about it, it's not like what they did in SC4 with the inclusion of Vader and Yoda and whatnot. Those characters, while kinda cool to have, really don't fit AT ALL within the SC universe. Freddy in MK works because there are already so many things in the MK universe that shouldn't work. I mean c'mon, you have a Native American warrior fighting against cop with a gun fighting against a purple ninja who squirts water at you from his hands. Point being that there's no real "theme" to the MK cast...it's basically a bunch of random folk tied together with a hokey story so that it all kinda makes a little sense.

Tekken Vs Street Fighter doesnt have guest characters, the game is a crossover.

Dr. Bosconovich and Gon in Tekken 3.

Guest characters dont make a game suck, bad gameplay (online and offine) does.

I know what you mean, but I look at it entirely differently. A crossover like Marvel vs Capcom has its own engine. SF v Tekken will use the SFIV engine, while Tekken v SF will use the Tekken engine. Therefore, you can make a strong argument that SF v Tekken is a SF game and Tekken v SF is a Tekken game.
 
Micheal Myers would not be possible because he does not do "combos" it would be a complete joke. Hes slow and deliberate, making people fear his presents not combo making lol. Jason also does similar things, hes fast and gets it done.

Freddy makes some sense because he has the moves to be fast and combo style.
 
in my opinion, heres what they should have done if they wanted guests

1.dont put in kratos at all
2.ps3 gets Freddy, Xbox gets Jason as starting guests
3. eventually realese both as DLC on both consoles so you can fight against eachother (like what they did with Darth Vader and Yoda in SC4)


I think it would have been a better move if they really wanted dlc in this game.
Freddy is still a big "WTF" character as it is, but having him without Jason seems very lacking. and they would be missing a big opprotunity if they left jason out. I'm not a huge freddy supporter, but without jason, I say why ever bother putting freddy in the game
 
I hope there isn't another DLC guest character if they are gonna have Freddy fine but please NRS no more guests

I prefer Kratos rather than Freddy. He fits more and is awesome IMO.
