Jason and Michael Mysers deconfirmed by Boon? (Hopefully)

I think Freddy is going to be great, ultimately the games main intention was that u can finish off ur opponent and freddy fits right into that. Also the idea of Jason or Michael Myers would be great!!! I'd love to see Myers push his thumb through someones forehead and slam there head into the ground til it smashes in, like in Halloween 4 ambulance scene. JASON slamming someone into a tree or throwin them into a tent and going to town with the machete, look all I'm saying is I still hope they bring some more characters but the guest characters wont hurt. Fatalities made the game and those guys I think would bring some cool ones...

**** you. i still have yet to find an answer on the last time tekken or street fighter had a guest character. there is a reason. dumb piece of shit, guest characters ruin the game plain and simple. how do you explain freddys existence in mortal kombat? just because he "fits" he automatically belongs in the game?
 
eh, once I read on threads on here boon supposively said he was not going to make tremor as there were so many other MK characters he wanted to do, seeing Freddy being announced just gives guest characters a bad taste in my mouth. "we are going to skip characters FROM the series, to add characters from OTHER series"......

1) Another poster mentioned that Dr. Bosconovich and Gon were in Tekken 3.

2) Street Fighter doesn't have guest characters because Marvel vs Capcom and Capcom vs SNK exist. It's completely not necessary to have guest characters in Street Fighter when Capcom already has two crossover franchises plus Street Fighter x Tekken on the way.

3) Cole from Infamous is a guest character for the PS3/Vita version of Street Fighter x Tekken.

4) Rumor is that an exclusive Microsoft character will be in the 360 version of Street Fighter x Tekken. Probably Master Chief I'd assume.

...I don't think it's possible for you to come across as an ignorant raging douchebag any harder than you currently are.

I agree its ridiculous and now everyone is like yaaaa now lets add myers, pinhead and jason.....It's like really do you want to play Mortal Kombat or an ENTIRLY DIFFERENT GAME!


Like I said before all of us who were requesting Reiko, Tanya, Fujin, Tremor etc were just campaigning those characters for MK10 cuz NRS already knew who all their DLC choices were going to be ahead of time...

he was actually suposed to be in Trilogy, thats the only reason I'd want him.

but most people dont even know that, so I dont understand why so many people want him just for being a random brown ninja from a crappy playstation game.

yes a full cross over is different. thats why they made a crossover series because they knew better than to put wolverine in street fighter. i did not play tekken 3 but google dr. bosconovich and tekken 3 is the only thing that comes up. so gon is really the only guest tekken had. 1 guest character in 7 games. mortal kombat already has 2 in one game. street fighter x tekken doesn't count because it's a crossover and master chief would look stupid as **** just like he would in mortal kombat. cole also looks just as stupid but at this point i could care less because i have xbox. so my point stands that guest characters are unpopular except in soul calibur and THREE guest characters let alone one guest character is not necessary nor does it make any sense unless it is a crossover.

Did you forget that MK has 9 games? so 1-7 for Tekken and 2-9 for MK. That's pretty damn good. Plus, Mk 9 is like a new era for MK. It's new, it's fresh, it plays much differently than other MK's AND has a new story-line with the whole time traveling message...Raiden...thing. :D

How do you know if they're so unpopular if Soul Calibur is practically the only game that really had guest characters before any other fighter? MK is the second fighting game to have guest characters thats not a crossover. You can't say that everyone hates guest characters because not enough fighters ahve really introduced them. I can tell you, however, that Cole received a very lewk-warm reception, only because he's not really that popular of a PS character, but I'm sure someone out there would love to play him, like a Imfamous fan. I'm a Horror AND a Star Wars fan, so it's like I'm just striking it rich with luck lately. ^ _ ^

okay well there is a reason fighting games don't experiment with guest characters except in crossover. thats the reason for crossover games. having kratos, freddy and jason all in mortal kombat just looks ridiculous. most games outside of soul calibur only have 1 or 2 guest characters per game at the most. and they dont do it in back to back games. my point is that 2 guest characters is more than enough. i guess now my biggest fear is that we will have 2 or 3 guests in the next mortal kombat and every mortal kombat after that.
 
Cant wait to play as Freddy, hopefully we get Jason aswell. And fox seriously dude dont get ur panties all up in a bunch if u dont want freddy then dont buy him its simple as that. You tell people not to request Jason bcause its trolling yet your the one coming into a Jason topic talking crap about him.
 
I can already picture Jason stomping his opponent like Scorpion, grabbing you in the air like Nightwolf and throwing his machete like Kano.

You MK "purists" crack me up.

Nobody has played MK longer than I have. I've been playing since the original MK coin-op in the arcade, and I have no problem with these guest characters.

The reason? They don't alter the gameplay at all. I had a huge problem with MK vs. DC because they altered the entire game to get a T rating to accommodate the DC characters, but Freddy alters nothing. As far as I'm concerned, they can continue adding well thought out guest characters, because to me that is preferable to adding idiotic MK characters like Kobra or Darrius. If Freddy wasn't an established character and was a brand new fighter created by NRS, you guys would love him. So what's the difference?

You also have to realize that MK isn't selling out. It can't, because MK was a sellout from day one. Johnny Cage was modeled after Jean Claude Van Damme and the first MK was going to try to be a movie tie-in game, so selling out is part of MK's core. Just look at all the crappy merchandise, NRS will license out the MK name to anybody who can make them a buck.

Who cares, it's capitalism. As long as they offer a little fan service in there too to keep the real fans happy, I don't care what else they add. Enjoy MK9. It's a total fan service game. It had to be in order to get the franchise rolling again. Now that it is, you can expect to see selling out and cut corners at every turn. Then it will become too much, everybody will abandon the franchise, it will take another break, and "return to its roots" with another reboot.

Rinse. Repeat.
 
I think Jason Voorhees for DLC would be pretty bad ass around Halloween time, when they orginally speculated about it. And no Fox, it's not 'trolling' if people are requesting a character, even if it's one you don't want. Believe it or not, half the community likes the idea, the other half despises it, and I can't even really say half because there's also a majority that doesn't care, so I'd say it's a 1/3 decision. :D
