I say I'm a MK puritst because I hate most everything made after UMK3,those games ruined the series more than 1 mere guest character could ever do IMO. While others openly define themselves as purist for automaticly liking anything MK related and hating guests.

If that was directed at me, I only used it there because the person I quoted used it to say "People who don't like guests" in not so many words. It's not a term I would've identified myself with if it wasn't already being used that way. And I wouldn't say I automatically like everything MK either.

as everyone is expecting it, but I dont think NRS will actually put him in. I think they shouldnt even bother putting Freddy in if they are not gonna put jason in, thats why I'm staring to belive this whole freddy idea is dumb

Jason can still be done since New Line aka: WB has rights to JASON! But Michael is not even possible as he is not part of WB's Family...

sorry to break it to you, but I dont think its gonna happen, And I actually would like jason to be in the game
but thats what the fans are wanting, for there to be Freddy vs Jason, but NRS doesnt listen to the fans, just look at freddy, no one wanted him. But now that he's in, some people like myself are saying "well if they have Freddy, might as well put jason in too I guess" Its just seems too good to be true, and thats why it wont happen. Only expect random stuff from now on

That's why Kenshi, and especially out of all people, Rain is in the game? Because they don't listen? The uproar regarding Rain was so huge there was no way they wouldn't put him in the game, and seeing (or not seeing because he's blind ^ _ ^) as how Kenshi is a bad ass and both liked by fans and NRS, he was put into the game too. They said the 4th would be a guest, and it was. 1 character release that not everyone loves doesn't mean they're not listening, and if it does, then we're all screwed.

Then, NRS decides who they'd like to see in the game, and it's a gamble of whether or not the community will approve or not. If Freddy is already in the game, I want Jason. Or Albert Wesker. Or Darth Maul. Gawd, that'd be awesome.
But, making fun of other's opinions doesn't make you right, It makes you a troll. So the meme fits you perfectly.

Back to the topic:
Freddy doesn't entirely fit Mortal Kombat, but Jason doesnt at all, why? because unlike Krueger, Jason barely moves he just has 2 animations, "teleport" behind the hot girl and cut/stab her with something, nothing more, but Freddy can have combos because he is "active", Jason doesnt, he is just a big statue with a chainsaw, I cant imagine Jason dashing, doing combos , doing an xray and other stuff, that's why I think Jason in MK would be retarded.

jason is slow, and only has a machete, that puts him at a disadvantage, and I can see all his attacks being exactly the same.
as much as I love jason, I dont want them to mess him up if they try too hard with him. He'll just end up a mess.

This is what I was wondering, if it was a brand new character with the same move set would people still be upset? Are they upset cause it wasn't the character they wanted or because it is Freddy? If it was a say... a new white ninja or something with these powers or if they gave them to say... Tanya or someone else they may not fit would people still be upset? Or is it just that fact that the skin is a character from a different franchise?

I don't like the idea of guest characters, but understand the reasoning behind it. For all those saying that Tekken, Street Fighter, and other games didn't include guest characters cuz it's a new idea, i'm sorry but your wrong, it's a pretty old idea, it has been implemented by both franchises as well as others such as Soul Calibur. However, i believe they have not further utilized the tactic because they see the disdain for it by fans, and lets face it SF and Tekken are fighter more directed toward fans of the series, rather than casual gamers. The reason I too dislike Freddy's inclusion is that i feel that he doesn't fit into Mortal Kombat. He just doesn't. His moves don't even fit who i feel Freddy is. I see it as a way to bring in the more casual gamer/reach a wider audience, and i have to respect that, but i don't like it. I will most likely not download Freddy because i do not want to see him or play as him in a MORTAL KOMBAT game. If I have not given it away, i feel similar about Kratos and therefore choose never to play with him because i feel it will be a waste of my time as it feels like a gimmick to be used only for this game.
Jason, i feel is up in the air as they only planned the 4 guest characters, but seeing all the hate for Freddy, i see his downloads being far less than the other guest characters and therefore causing NRS to question their whole outlook on guest characters.

I would be COMPLETELY okay with this being a new character for the mortal kombat franchise with something close to Freddy's moveset. However, this is because i feel that they are wasting moves that they could be using for another character on someone who will only be in this game, and not a true part of the MK games. This will probably lead to them giving similar moves to a character in the future, leading to anger by a great deal of people who will say that they are simply a copy of Freddy from MK9.
