Batman Movies

Yeah idk why so many sites have so many spoilers out in the open. Glad I saw it on midnight too for that reason. And I can't figure out why it seems most either completely praise it as the best or worse movie ever made. Although judging by the reviews on IMDB, the average rating from almost 247,00 people was an 8.9 and rottentomatoes had an average of 4.5/5 from almost 433,000 people which are great scores which really makes me question the taste in movies for those that claim it was a "bad" movie. Flawed, yes and definitely not the BEST movie ever, but I still enjoyed every minute of it.

I would take the scores from those sites very lightly. The top critic's score on rottentomatoes was 7.5, far from a "masterpiece". Needless to say, the majority of the population are also idiots.

Wait, there's a JL movie coming out?

Yeah after the success of the Avengers, DC wants to make a justice league movie starting with this upcoming Superman reboot (idk if they will use Ryan Renold's Green Lantern considering it was a flop). They won't use Nolan's batman though for the obvious reason that it is too realistic. They will either reboot batman again or just have him in the movie like hawk eye but more comic book like to fit in with the rest of the characters. So far Ben Affleck is first in line to direct Justice League, but idk how I feel about that just yet. He's been hit or miss with movies. I did really like The Town though.

I remember after seeing the Green Latern movie that I went on the internet (out of curiosity) to see if they would make a JL movie. I saw one on IMB saying 2014. Fingers crossed.

I would prefer Christian Bale as Batman

DC has got to ge their shit together if they want to do a Justice League movie. And do it good that is.
I've heard rumors they may be doing the justice League movie first, then the hero's stand alone movies after.
The opposite of what marvel did. I think it can work, but I hope they dont rush it through as a cheap attempt to rival Avengers 2 or something.

As for a new Batman. I am looking forward to a new movie series. There are lots of idiots who think Nolan owns batman and nothing should be done with the character anymore, but they must realize that Nolan's movies were just an intrepretation of Batman, and the character must live on throughout the decades like they've always done.

However some people are also just nervous that batman may get into the wrong hands of douchey producers trying to make a buck off of the popularity of the character, and thats why they might not be looking forward to a new series and I completely understand. Cause Nolan knew what he was doing and he took the movies very serious and with respect to the characters and the fans. And theres a chance we might not get so lucky next time.

Yeah I fall in the second category. Just a little nervous that they might mess it up doing it a fourth time. Hopefully I'm wrong

The Dark Knight Rises was by far the worst of all the batmans. Infact, I thought it was just generally a bad movie. Full of plot holes, disjointed and confused, and the action scenes/fighting was laughable. A "rent" movie for sure.

How could anyone think it is worse than Batman and Robin??

Like I said before, I would love to see a new Batman series with more emphasis on Batman's detective skills

See, that is one of the major reasons that I dislike the Christopher Nolan Batman movies. Batman debuted in Detective Comics. His essence is to out-think you first, then actually defeat you, not out hoarse-voice you. There is very little "detective" work done by Bale's character. He is basically reactive to enemies, when he should be doing his homework (so to speak).

I myself prefer the animated films by FAR. Especially Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Batman: Under the Red Hood.

Well one problem is that audiences are clearly getting sick of reboots, especially if the last series wasn't that far off. The amazing spiderman was good but it definitely showed people were much less interested. That'll be a huge problem coming off this series because most will have Nolan's trilogy fresh in their minds and will be confused and won't care to see a new take on batman. Its just cause most people don't understand the dc universe. For example when I told my friends Bane was the new bad guy, they automatically thought poison ivy was also going to be in it and he was a stupid character. They just don't understand lol

I did love how he compared themselves to an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object and they were destined to do this forever, which just depresses me Heath died so he couldn't continue the story further with that.

Even if Heath had not died, I just cant see a reason to bring the Joker back as a villain. They just dont reuse villains in any batman movie and thats a good thing in my opinion. The villains represent each movie they are in and make them memorable. Like when I think of Batman Returns, catwoman and pinguin always come to mind. And with Forever, I think of two face and riddler laughing in some neon green background.

Sure Scarecrow made cameos in all of the films, but they werent that important, Scarecrow was never presented that great even in Batman Begins in my opinion. Thats one thing I never liked about Batman Begins. The villains. Ras al ghul was great, but only came towards the very end. Which was fine. But scarecrow was not shown enough. I think he deserved way more screentime with him in the mask and in the straight jacket terrorizing random people at the end of the movie. Just think of all the trippy hallucinations that could have been.

Spoiler:
If heath had not died and they were to have him cameo in TDKR, I thought it would be pretty funny if there was a brief scene with Joker in his Prison cell watching a TV with Bane on the news doing all this evil stuff, and joker mumbles to himself "showoff" or something like that.

I would absolutely love to see a Nolanized Penguin, but if they did go the detective route, the villain HAS to be The Riddler.

Lol I actually like that idea. I do know Nolan did have the joker planned to be in the third one though until Heath died. That's why he was debating even doing a third one for awhile after that happened. I do know what you are saying though with each villain having one movie that is theirs and it all worked out in the end that way.

How many movies has Afleck directed? I know he directed The Town, but is that it?

He apparently directed 4 so far and has a movie called Argo coming out later this year. Out of the 4 so far, his first one got bad ratings, one was ok and two (gone baby gone and the town) were really good. He seems to get better with each movie but hasn't done a blockbuster type yet like the justice league would obviously be. We'll see I guess. He might not even end up doing it. Things always change in hollywood.
