I'm a bit surprised at the leg take down changes for Scorpion. I've noticed I'm one of the very few that actually use that move. Very predictable and punishable when used in a predictable way, so I guess they're trying to help out the more casual players.

I also don't understand why Sub got a buff?? Like wtf. So now they are promoting turtling with him since if you, lets say Kitana and can't Teleport to the other side, you are forced to spam projectiles in hopes that you don't get frozen because you are going to get comboed. That is the stupidest buff EVAR.

I don't understand why Subs freeze lasts longer. It's promoting turtling behind ice clones all day. It SUCKS for non teleporters

Update and lag?

So has anybody else had a bad hit in their button lag with this new update? It's HORRIBLE where I'm at and a lot of people I'm playing against are saying they are having it too? What gives. And this does not pertain to PS3 players so don't bother commenting!
 
jades ex boomerang buff helps her a lot. she can have some crazy frame traps, mixups and pressure game now. I guess that was the big surpise. so much for unblockable staff grab or vanishing winds...
but she still has her resets along with her new buffs so I will be playing jade a lot more than usual

No she can't,

Jade is in a lot of lag when she throws it so she can't attack until it practically returns. If you're up close, the opponent can drop block and uppercut you before it comes back for a trade, if not a special with armor.

People can still just block everything low and just block high when they see DB2.

The push back on DF2 can still be punished by fast specials like reptiles elbow dash.

The 4,F3 string the second hit goes over crouchers and can be punished while crouching, and guess what people do bs jade when they know how to fight her? They always block low so that buff was practically redundant.

Her U+3 near the peak of her height she's considered airborne now, before you could jump punch her and she was instantly grounded and you could full combo so that's a buff, but then they nerf it at the same time by making it whiff crouchers? Once again... EVERYONE who has a brain will be spamming crouch against jade in the defensive since DB2 is blockable on reaction.

I don't understand the need to nerf Skarlet's dagger toss cancel. There was nothing wrong with the dash cancel SMH. Didn't think her back throw needed a nerf since her damage output is relatively hard to get since her juggles are easy to see coming. The only good outcome was her dash into up+3

Dagger spamming made it impossible for characters w/out teleports to fight skarlet

THIS. I'm fed up of sitting around and waiting for a Sub to do something other then hide behind a clone and iceball, would you believe it? still they have no deterrent. I don't let many things get to me in this game anymore but this "strategy" is boring, win or lose there will be no rematch from me.


NOTE: I have played a few decent Subs and enjoyed the fights. Please don't think I'm hating on all Subs, If your creative with your Sub then hats off to you, if you want to spam iceballs then life will get very lonely.

Something else I didn' see in the main patch list:
Johnny Cage has now been drastically nerfed in his shadow kicks. Red or Green kicks, he's far more punishable now. That's probably the worst thing in the world for JC players, considering that is his bread and butter. I've noticed this BIG TIME. And it's hurt me a TON. Johnny shouldn't be getting all of these nerfs. I really think he was the most balanced from the get go, if they needed to nerf that take two combo, sure, I can see that. But as for lowering his nut punch hit, and his shadow kick? Really? Why would you make his failed shadow kick that much more punishable? His fast recovery on that is what really made him have a chance againt Kitana's, Kano's, and Raiden's. Now he has no chance against half the roster. Sad.

How is the buff promoting turtling? Sub was too easily locked down by projectile spammers, the buff allows him to slide in and do work. It's the same reason Johnny Cage got armor on EX shadow kick. It was either give him armor on slide or allow the slide to go under as many projectiles as Reptile's slide.

I am wondering why they didn't go that way, rather than giving Reptile armor on slide that I don't feel he even needs.

I'm glad they have said "fixed the costume desync issues now", because in many ways, they are still acknowledging that other things are causing desyncs, like custom control/button mapping. I sincerely hope this is a problem NRS can fix, because this is the only thing causing the occasional desync now.

That said, I only seem to desync in certain combos on certain occasions with NW or Baraka. Sheeva seems alright now. Maybe it is certain combos and not button mapping, I don't know.

Right now I don't care about who has a buff/nerf, I just want this last DESYNC issue fixed. Ugh, even the lag isn't that bad all the time now.

Kung Lao got nerfed and buffed. While some of his specials are more punishable now, some of his strings are safer. I believe now he's more balanced though, still top-tier for sure.

Did they really nerfed Cage's shadow kicks? Was there even any problem with them to start with?

I don't know why Cage's shadow kicks got nerfed. A blocked one of those = free combo.

I find Cage's pressure game tough to get out of at times, something changed there would have been welcome! :P

I main kitana and before the nerf I was able to punish shadow kick with a full combo. shadow kick was already hella punishable so I agree with the fact that they shudnt have nerfee it even further. we just have to be more careful with it now. it still comes out instantly and red shadow still has armor, its just more of a risk now
