What do you don't like about the game?

I'm a huge fan of Scorpion, but I am getting annoyed at him being all over the place.

I'm a little bothered by the lack of female characters. Would like at least a third of the roster to be female.

I'm REALLY bothered by what looks like a truck load of old characters coming back. We just needed a handful for it to feel like MK.

I'm ultra bothered about those same characters being a majority of them dead from the last game. I wish they made those deaths mean something. You can't go AT LEAST 1 game without them being gone, then why did they kill so many anyway?

Other than that, I am pleased as punch with this game. I just wish that half the roster was new characters. If not that, then a third of the roster be new, a third be classic, and another third be post mk3. And I'd really like for the game to be a third female at least.

My entire list of disappointments are three things.

Too many returning characters

Variations seem more like just divided special move sets than true functional variations. (This is a loose gripe till I actually play the game)

So far the fatalities are more of the same. More detailed versions of things we have seen 100 times already. NRS seem afraid to really push the boundaries with them like the original game did in its time. There is so much more they could do.

Anyway
I don't like how Kitana has Jade's staff now, though nothing I can do about that.
I don't like the fact that we will very possibly see Jax back.\
I don't like whatsoever the large amount of returning characters.
I don't like how it seems like an injustice rehash.

Too many retuning characters. 2 thirds of the fights in the game are going to be ones that were done in mk9. Ermac and Reptile didn't really need to be in the game and they could have chosen between kung Lao and Kitana.

I was hoping we had Multi staged levels

I thought it would be cool to knock the opponent to the other level in a more cinematic fashion. Nothing too extravagant or over the top but a cool little cutscene.

Kano:
Even though he is my favorite character the whole Traffic Light thing is alil cheesy if you Ask me. i think it would have been better to give her different Face Plates (Cybernetic Eye) for the different variations

I agree, the majority of the Heroes got "X'd" by Sindel! And with their return, I just hope their is an amazing reason as to why. If anything they should have been "unannounced surprise" characters. And since there are characters that are returning that are were dead, NOW i want Nightwolf to return bc he was one of my favorites. Its not hard to believe/imagine/do now is it?!

One thing I really don't like....The lack of returning stages. They keep showing all this love for returning characters, but where are the returning stages?

I want the MK4 fan stage, Yin Yang Island, The Wu Shi Academy, Reptile's lair..

I'm still holding out for this...
Spoiler:

Character variations WILL ruin the game. Mark my words. NRS can't balance one set of a roster, let alone 3. Stage interactions too. They don't need these bullshit gimmicks. Theres a reason folk still play SF4, the core game is solid. No nonsense. MK doesn't need all this gobbledygook added. It's weak attempts at innovation.

I just feel like the variations are not diverse enough, just a few special moves.

theres no tag team mode.

all these female man faces, feel like NRS need to really go back to their roots and and hire some sexy models to play as the kharacters and go back to the digitized sprites for the next MK game since they still can't design female faces.

Can we please stop comparing every FG to SF. MK is a completely separate entity. If every FG was like SF, this genre would die out fast.

Anyway, NRS did a great job balancing Injustice. Sure, some characters were over-nerfed(Black Adam), over-buffed(Flash) and strangely left untouched(Batgirl) but overall I think they did a good job leveling everything out. So they have been making progress.

I hate the marketing. we went almost 4 months with no news.
Also Kano gets an awesome trailer while Kitana, Kung Lao, Reptile & Ermac get what?

LACK OF MK4-MKD Characters
Where is

Havik

I think we all know the reason why there's a lack of returning stages...

They're already jumping on the "Klassic Kombatants" Bandwagon with the Kombat Pack, watch them do stages as well.

I have this huge feeling MKX is going to be extremely aggressive with the DLC.

- shitty 2D (should've been 3D)
- No Tanya
- Ed Boon is still in charge, cmon time for somebody new to step instead of him
- Bug'Whora aka Lilymoon (Digimons)
- Tekken Khan
- Nunu/Asterix & Obelix
- Gameplay
- Variations
- Dark Graphics
- Gimmicky look
- Story mode that is destined to suck cuz of the bad writing courtesy of Ed Gayoon
- Females look like trannies, this dates back to deadly alliance
- Ultra Super Extremly Boring Sucky Scorpion hogging the spotlight too much

I don't like how the game will likely have a lot of family members. After MK9, I wanted to see new characters again. I want to see more original characters since Kotal Kahn looks badass. I don't want 95% of the new characters to be cousins, brothers, sisters, daughters and sons.

Scorpion being the main promotion of the game never bothers me. He's popular with casuals and hard core fans. He always looks cool and attracts people to buy the game. He is the series trademark character for years. It's no different how other franchises are. Sweet Tooth is the trademark character for Twisted Metal and Nightmare is the trademark character for the Soul series. Scorpion and Sub-Zero are the only MK characters that non MK fans know about.

Well, with the alleged Achievement/Trophy list being leaked, there is a specific one relating to defeating a family member 50 times.

That to me suggests that family and descendants will be integral.

It's impossible not to compare every fighting game to SF unless its 3D. It's the benchmark. It was the first one worth playing and set off a chain reaction the world of gaming has never recovered from.

MK9 2D gameplay made MK popular again. If MK back to 3D then you can kiss the series popularity good bye again. I remember before MK9, people view MK as a joke and call it "The franchise that should have stay dead after the 90's". While MKDA did help brought the series back to life after 1997 and MKD did got good reviews but the 3D gameplay did turn off many people.

Did someone seriously just say they wanted 3D back? Ew, go away.

Also, I love the new 'variations' feature. I think it adds a lot of diversity, instead of a character having just one specialty (e.g. rushdown, zoning), they have 3 different variations for different playstyles, situations or matchups. I think that's really cool.
