Here's a something to think about:

IF LUI KANG is in the story when does he make his return?Is he summoned to help put an end to the Nether realm war?If he isn't then isn't it interesting to think...who among the heroes could have defeated shinnok and quan chi ?Dont forget that the Nether realm invasion happends at shortly after Mk9..there are only 3 guys at that point..Raiden,Sonya and Johnny Cage....maybe Ermac and Fujin will come to help?


I'm thinking Lui Kang (if he isn't already alive) will be summoned to help put an end to this demon who's in the comic...unless he is the demon??

Edit: I just don't see him being so friendly with Raiden when he returns .

Liu Kang died still being Champion.
So, I'm guessing that he either isn't all dead (just mostly dead), or if he is all dead then he will get another chance.



I don't think that Liu Kang is the demon, though, but who knows.
He probably would still be mad at Raiden for the BS that happened in MK9.
 
If Shang Tsung indeed does return like Kitty mentioned in the Countdown thread, then we have three "dead" characters returning from MK9 that have direct connection to Liu Kang. The meter that gauges coincidence and intent leans more towards the intent side IMO.

What can he be mad about? Kung Lao and Kitana are alive. His best friend and his lover are still kicking! I mean his breakdown started since Kung Lao's death and once he lost Kitana (he only met couple of times) he lost all hope for Raiden.
But now they are alive.
Well ok. He miiiiight be angry about that little unfortunate incident, which involves him being burned and electrocuted at the same time... and becoming blind with one eye... and scarring him for life... and making him look like a Husk... and burning his favorite pants... ok I take it back, he has enough reason to hate Raiden. May Gods help Raiden.

Raiden has healing powers though ..remember how he healed Jax.

He's going after Raiden BECAUSE of the dagger's relation to Quan Chi. He's going to beat the answers out of Raiden as to why he essentially allowed Quan Chi to have a window into Scorpion's home.
 
What if like his ending said Tsung sung became good to counter the evil that became the fire god liu kang? To me it would be that drastic change that we had been promised in Mk9. An let's not forget that before he passed out/died, Liu turned his back on raiden. He lost his faith in him. I don't think if he was alive that would change even if Raiden did heal him.
 
I'm sure Liu Kang will make a comeback. But as a zombie, or miraculous resurrection (which seems to be a recurring theme), or a fire god/demon, I can't say. It would be awesome if he ended up as the final boss.

Instead becoming a fire god, what about being reborn as a demon in the Netherrealm? If he did die at the end of MK9 then he could be reborn as a demon to work with Quan Chi and Shinnok. They could give him a demonic look to him similar to Devil Jin from Tekken.
 
Actually, does anybody know if they are going to release this comic collection in one, physical volume?

I don't think he would die and go to Netherrealm... But that's just me. I don't know if souls go anywhere else in MK's afterlife. I would assume that his soul is with the Elder Gods, since he was the chosen champion and junk.
 
I also think Liu Kang will be the final boss. It just makes too much sense at this point. Ed Boon said at E3 that a returning character would be the final boss. Hes spent 20+ years being the hero. It would be a great twist if he was evil for a change
 
The problem is: we are already expecting him to be.

He said we wouldn't see it coming.

Who in MK Fan universe didn't watch his ending and thought "he's going to come back furious"?

May be him, but it won't be as unexpected. It never was..

Of course to US it won't be unexpected,
Though to the majority of the gaming community BESIDES us, it'd be the biggest shock they've recieved in the franchise, and everyone knows it.
