SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

So basically you're saying you hope they expand more on the character instead of just having them there ... But You just had to throw that "token black guy " under cut in there .

"I AM the flashing lights and special effects."

They have had 7 games to expand Jax's character and havent done so. No, I dont want them to expand on the character, I want Jax gone. He is absolutely useless. Kung Lao and Kitana, okay i could see them being important to the story but Jax in MKX would be the definition of a wasted roster spot

I'm talking about the new character

"I AM the flashing lights and special effects."

If he actually had a decent role in the story, the jive talk wouldn't be so bad. With the way things are, because there is a destructive duo of the jive talk and uselessness of his character, Jax will always be portrayed as the Token Black Guy to add some diversity to the roster.

Honestly, that's more insulting than having an all white cast IMO.

If this girl really is this Gemini everyone is talking about, and is simply his pupil, that would be more interesting than her being his daughter imo. They could have a sorta father-daughter relationship without it becoming cheesy because of all the descendant characters (although we only know of Cassie and Takeda so far)

I'm assuming since they're looking for mid 20 something actor to play him in the online series he'll be fine.

It also said he uses swords and telekinesis so I'm thinking be might actually be a main character who kinda takes the place of Kenshi. Or maybe Kenshi and Takeda are technically the same character in the game but with different skins like the sub zero brothers in the last game. Just a thought.

I don't think they'd be skins for each other. Bi Han and Kuai Liang are both Sub-Zero, but Kenshi and Takeda aren't both Kenshi or Takeda. Takeda's being trained by Scorpion does allow for the possibility of him being far from the same as Kenshi, too.

I don't like the source but that is true..

Having a stereotype black character is worse than having an all "white" cast.

"I AM the flashing lights and special effects."

I really doubt it's Gemini. Just based on how hard the girl is hitting the bag, it makes more sense that she inherited her father's strength. Whereas Gemini was just a voice in Jax's ear.

Though how hilarious would it be if the one character they bring in from Special Forces is Gemini and not Tremor

An all white cast? So far we have 11 people announced and only 3 are actually white. The rest are either Asian or unidentifiable.

I dislike the way that they treated Scorpion's story in issue 3.
It sucks that they make him out to be such a stupid idiot, and can't evolve him properly.
They had a chance to build up Scorpion, and nope, they give him the same bullshit story of "someone else kills off his family or clan" and and he goes off blaming another innocent, rather than going after Quan Chi.
Fox even said that the Kamidogu has ties to Quan Chi before he died, but nope, let's go hunting Raiden down.

I hope that Raiden stops Scorpion in his tracks and says something to him like "Look, you dense motherf***er." "Quan Chi killed your family and he sent a demon to possess Fox and kill your clan." "It's him you should be hunting down, you dumb shit."

Well, tbf, Raiden neglected to tell him anything about the dagger that he tasked him with protecting.

"Hey, guy....watch this for me. *mumbles*...oh and btw its cursed by the guy who killed everyone you love and may have the ability to possess people* KTHX BYE, FELLA"

Agreed, this is annoying as hell to look at. Just don't associate Scorpion with revenge for a while and I guarantee the mascot for MK will gain a lot more fans. But NRS doesn't get that, the whole thing can be compared to the WWE where they tease the fans for a John Cena heel turn, but then it gets shut down.

But what if, A. Quan Chi is "dead" after the Netherrealm War, and B. Given Raiden's shitty track record of important decisions as of late, what if Scorpion genuinely didn't know what he was getting himself into by taking on the task of protecting the dagger?

By the looks of things though, it seems like he's keeping his humanity in tact and wants to confront Raiden as opposed to blindly murder him.

I don't think Quan Chi is dead at that point, due to the dialogue line between Scorpion and Quan Chi:

Scorpion: "You betrayed me, Quan Chi."
Quan Chi: "Your rage betrayed you."
Scorpion: "ENOUGH!!"

This sounds like someone who wants to confront Raiden, as opposed to blindly murdering him?

MKX comic 3 Scorpion to Raiden.jpg

"... AND I'LL SHOW YOU HOW TO MAKE A GOD BEG FOR MERCY."

Doesn't seem like Scorpion wants to confront Raiden or have a peaceful debate with him, IMO.

However, the dialogue doesn't imply that he's alive at the end of it all.

True, but it wouldn't be the first time that Quan Chi slips away and is alive.
Perhaps he escapes during the NetherRelam wars, and Scorpion kills him later.
I'm just speculating here, like everyone else.

To me, that line between those 2 sounds like Scorpion will confront him some time in the game's story.
