I have distant and I mean distant memories of Rain from UMK3.
When his name got mentioned I thought "that was the guy with that super roundhouse kick right?"
I'm not a fan of him in this game. I dont think they did a good job of his water abilities, I mean they look pretty, but it just doesnt seem very "MK'ish".
Kenshi was someone else I had high hopes for. He looks very cool, but God he is hands down the most boring character in the game. Most Kenshi players stand at one end of the screen, spamming that tk move.
Only Scarlet has impressed me, thus so far. For a new character, she fits perfectly into the MK universe.

So, I downloaded Rain the day he came out. I like how they kept most of Rain's old moves in, even his super roundhouse kick and this time, it even has a water effect to it, which is a nice too. I like his new geyser kick too. Overall, a nice addition to the game, although he really should have been in the game in the first place, since he was part of the original trilogy.

I hope they make a kostume for Rain, maybe there will be a MK3 DLC kostume for him for the klassic Rain.

What?!! first off Kratos is a joke (xbl users be glad you dont have wasted space for this guy). for me skarlet was a HUGE disappointment gameplay wise considering all the hype. Kenshi is mediocre IMO because of the spamming capabilites. So far the only dlc fighter I'm liking is Rain. To each his own.
[on topic] his roundhouse kick I think is stellar; the only special move that is wasted is water bubble cause you can't do anything. it's like quan chi's hypnotize all over again. his fatalities and babality are really kool. overall I think he's a decent character.

Rain is more MK than Baraka or Sheeva? Seriously?
Ok let's see here. Baraka was an epic playable character in MKII, and brought back in MKD. Sheeva is a Shokan (classic MK race), and was a playable character in both versions of MK3. Rain? His only appearance in a real MK game prior to MK9 was in the intro of the arcade UMK3 as a JOKE. Rain was never intended to be a serious MK character at all.
Then, some ass-clown decided to make him playable and broken in the home ports of UMK3, and then all of a sudden everyone got these huge man-crushes on Rain and are sleeping with their Rain plushies and dressing their sex dolls in purple ninja suits. I still don't get it.
(wait, did I just actually admit that the arcade UMK3 is a real MK game? I must be slipping...)

What? I dont understand this statement... You can use rain's waterball to place the opponent wherever you want. Because of that , you cant move rain or else you lose the ability to move the opponent. In quan chi's move, you have no control of the opponent, its like scorpions spear.

I said "real" MK games. Trilogy is just a compilation, like Tekken Tag Tournament w/o the tag feature. Armageddon at least has a story, but you can't seriously tell me that Rain would have been in it if they hadn't made a point to include ALL characters. And Rain wasn't in UMK3. Home ports of MK games that HAD an arcade version don't count.
To answer the question part, yes that's exactly why I post here. As far as the second part of your post, I have no idea what you're talking about. Nothing in my post suggests I have anything against the color purple. I was wearing purple just yesterday. In fact, I think the color purple should feel shafted by having to be associated with Rain.
Well of course he evolved into a more serious character. But it only happened because of all these crazies. Boon would have to be stupid not to try to exploit all these morons for money. Making Rain DLC instead of putting him in MK9 to begin with was a brilliant business move.
And I'm not about to argue with you about having man-crushes on anyone LOL
