Fallout (1,2,3, and New Vegas)

Playing Fallout 3 over again for the DLC's :D Only played Broken Steel but now I have all of em. My friend keeps telling me that Mothership Zeta is awesome, so I'm probably looking forward to that one the most.

I thought the aliens were a bit OP. I did get confused because the ship is like one big labyrinth. I couldn't go back and find the alien captive recordings. I thought it was meh compared to The Pitt and Point Lookout.

Yeah I felt like Zeta was the weakest of the dlc bunch.

Even Anchorage is awesome because its a fun little minigame of sorts. Turns Fallout from a FPSRPG to just a FPS.
Just make sure you look up the Gary glitch ;) Allows you to keep weapons that never lose condition.

The Pitt was alright imo. The concept was really cool since every time you went outside it felt like you were being hunted.

But Point Lookout was one of the greatest pieces of DLC I've ever seen. Its almost like Fallout 3.25, a pretty meaty expansion.
Extremely gloomy environment, loads of secrets to find and a feeling of isolation you'll find nowhere else in the game. I think there are only about 2 friendly face left when you leave. Plus the plant part

I did the Gary 23 glitch and took Jingwei's Shocksword. I had a lightning sword that never lost condition :mullet:

The Snow combat armor with the facemask was badass too.

For some reason, after completing the New Vegas quest, Beyond the Beef, Arcade Gannon got into a fight with the White Gloves. The Whites Gloves, however, were not hostile to me or Ed-E. Things resumed to normal after Gannon was knocked unconscious.

Bethesda games are some of my favorite games, but they are just riddled with bugs. I love Fallout but there are tons of glitches like that.

I really hope that in the next game there is a real animal companion.
When I heard New Vegas was announced I was hoping for either a Coyote or Wolf sidekick. Not some freak weirdo robo dog.
I also thought there would be giant tarantulas, but oh well.

The two biggest changes I want for the next game are realistic weather changes (finally seeing rain via Zion Valley was amazing) and a the ability to sprint. Have sprinting take up our Action Points. I never used VATS in New Vegas anyway.

I never played Mother shit Zeta and Point Look out

But I still have my copy of FO3 though I'm going to start a new playthrough today and I can't decide on if should be good or evil this time :[

Mothership Zeta was alright to me. You got some cool things out of it like Samurai Armor & the Captain's Sidearm, but other than that it was pretty lame. Cool concept though.

Point Lookout is incredible. I seriously wish I still had my copy of the game just so I could go back and play it.
My fondest memory was killing a bunch of people in that church, then coming out to see a shitload of those ultra ghouls in the cemetary. They started chasing me and the only way I could live was if I jumped off the cliff into the ocean. Shit was so intense, wish I kept a save of that moment :(

I liked Mothership Zeta for the unique energy weapons and alien epoxy. The latter is especially useful if you use weapons that are otherwise hard to come by and maintain. However, it didn't like the fact that many sections of the ship are blocked off when you reach a certain point of the quest. I thought Operation Anchorage was a chore and the only thing I like about it was the sweet gear you get AFTER finishing it.

I think Anchorage would have been better had it been treated like an actual simulation.
You have received points and a score for your performance on each section/chapter. That in turn should have unlocked different areas of the vault that held access to more and more valuable gear. And you should have been able to run the simulation more than once.

Great ideas, man. The sprinting option would even out the playing field for those who like to hang back and those who wanna ambush.

Operation Anchorage sucked as a mission, but that damn stealth armor granted the played God Mode. Gotta love sneak attacking Death Claws (with a Shishkabob, of course) to their face, 3 times in a row, without them ever seeing you.

I'd also like to see more weapon crafting, a la Skyrim. They did a sloppy job with it in NV.

Haha, that stealth armor saved my ass more times than I could count. My sneak skill was at like 20 the whole game, but put tht thing on it was 100 instantly. Loved it. Sucks that the New Vegas version didn't have the stealth ability.

I too would like to see more weapon crafting, especially for melee weapons. Make an explosive impact weapon with a sledgehammer and a motorcycle gas tank or something like that.

One thing I missed about 3 that wasn't in NV was the lack of random enemy placement. In NV I know exactly where everything is. I know if I go over that mountain there will be 3 or 4 Deathclaw, I know that in this little valley there are a bunch of Ghouls. In 3 you could look over your shoulder and see 2 Albino Radscorpioins chasing your ass. It was a great feeling of no matter where you are you're in danger.

Anyone remember that power armor you got after you beat Anchorage, it was so cheap, but it made fighting enemies a lot easier.

You could get the same Armor without the DLC, it was somewhere in the north western side of the map you needed a high Lock picking level though.

I loved the Medic power armor you found in the Death Claw Sactuary, it was soo badass and it talked too

The one that never lost its condition?
Yeah I remember that one, it was too cool for school.

I loved the BoS with a passion and was pretty sad that they didn't have a larger role in NV. I care nothing for NCR or CL.
Though the NCR ranger armor is boss as hell, especially when you find the non faction one in Zion.

I remember when I played Broken Steel I was trying to get the Alien Blaster from one of the crates in the Enclave base, but didn't have a high enough lock picking skill, I tried leveling up by taking out all the enemies around me, but no luck, so I had no chose but to blow the Enclave base and go look for the Alien Blaster where the UFO was.

I really loved FO3's Tesla Power Armor. Best armor in the whole game. I used to pair it with that super plasma rifle you get from a mission in that submarine-like city that I forgot the name. I was like Wolfenstein's ubersoldiers. I hated the enclave's armor in NV. You had to have 75% of the main quest completed to actually acquire the Tesla Armor in NV... *sigh*
