Fallout (1,2,3, and New Vegas)

I don't know why, but Fallout is my favorite game to speculate about.
I feel like a mega nyerrrd, but damnit I love it.

I hope Fallout 4 has more choices kinda like FNV's choices. Like a war between the BOS and the Enclave, and you choose which side to fight on. I liked FO3 a bit more than NV, but it really didn't have that many choices.

I liked Fallout 3's story so much more, but NV's gameplay was so much better.

There was a huge number of weapons this time and not just an assault rifle and Chinese assault rifle. Plus when you hit somebody with a missile launcher, it actually did a shit ton of damage. I remember hitting a Raider in the face with a missile and it doing hardly any damage.

The Fallout 3 raiders studied under Liu Kang and learned to block missiles with their hands

I agree with pretty much everything you said though. NV had alot more variety, the only thing I didn't like was that there was nothing good you could craft in NV. I can't wait for Bethesda to make FO4, I want to see how awesome it is going to look with Skyrim's graphic engine, or maybe even an upgrade from it.

Completely forgot about that. Oh god I think my hype just tripled.

Wouldn't it just be all kinds of sick if there were Skyrim references in Fallout 4?
Like go to an abandoned museum and see a dragon skeleton on display.

That idea reminds me of the Kasumi DLC in ME2. There was a statue of one of those big ass ogres you would fight in Dragon Age Origins in a guy's treasure vault.

I think I liked FO3 better than NV... but God, both games are so insanely good! I can't even imagine a FO4 with Skyrim's engine, plus the mods. The damn ultra hd texture mods. *drools*

What do you guys think of this?

I hope this is true. Could definitely picture walking along some piers, fighting some Mirelurks with a steam powered shotgun.
Would be pretty badass if there was a Mudcrab cameo somewhere in the game.

Boston? I can dig it, I've been to Boston a few times and the seafood there is goddamn amazing. I missed the Mirelurks they were a cool enemy. I hope there is more with the Enclave in Fallout 4, maybe we could join them this time. The factions in New Vegas were cool, but they aint shit compared to the Brotherhood and Enclave.

Definitely.
I want the faction lines to be more blurred too.

It was really easy to know who to join in NV because it was either join the military guys who are a bit controlling but resemble pre war America. Or join a bunch of cannibal rapists. Das Fook?

I want to be conflicted with who I join. Like in Skyrim. It was hard to decide between either the Imperials who want a more organized and fair Skyrim, but at the same time they're puppets of the Thalmor. Or the Stormcloaks who start the revolution to defend their homeland's honor from the invasion, and at the same time they're prejudice pricks.

Yea in New Vegas everything was really clear cut, just good or evil and then if you want to be friends with certain people. Having the lines between good and evil be not so clearly defined makes a better story. The choice between the BoS and the Enclave could be like the civil war in Skyrim. Like the Enclave could be working on something that would benefit humanity in the long run but condemn thousands of people in the wastelands to death. The Brotherhood would then be trying to stop them and try to help the people of the wastes live a better life.

But you have more options than just those two you could side with Mr. House, anarchy, and if I remember right you could rule yourself. With Skyrim the Empire definitely seems to be the better choice since the Stormcloaks started the war just because they couldn't openly worship Talos (and his worship was only banned because the Empire needed to stop the war) when there are 8 other Divines they could worship. They also are racist towards most other races.

You are only talking about the main questline. I'm talking about which of the 2 main factions you hold your allegiance to. Mr. House was a big part of the story, but the entire war was between Cesar's Legion & NCR.

I sided with the Stormcloaks because I love the idea of revolution. Which made it funny because I was a lizard guy and they always talked shit to me.

I recently installed Fallout 2. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to to run on Windows 7 without some problems. The colors and screen size can be fixed via patches. The background music on the other hand, I wasn't able to figure out a solution without making duplicate music files.

Post apocalyptic Nicholas Cage in National Treasure came to mind first for some reason. Lame I know, but thats what I thought of.

I think its a cool idea.

Ahh... Stealth suit, Shocksword, and Perforator made for the greatest combination ever? Abducted by Enclave? I'll just kill everyone in the building and nobody will even notice.

I was so rarely shot at in that game that I felt more like an assassin than the Lone Wanderer

I personally think the stealth suit was too good.
Should have reserved it for people that actually invested in stealth a bit.

My stealth was at 20 the entire game. Throw on the suit and it instantly became 100.

Which stats do you guys generally ignore? Can't max out all of them.
I usually ignore stealth & explosives until I need them in a dialogue check or something for a specific reward/outcome. I never invest in unarmed. Ignored the hell out of big weapons and melee in 3. Disregarded energy & survival in NV, but maxed out my melee.

Just proves that this game begs for multiple playthroughs. Its crazy how different the game is when you can block a Deathclaw's attacks and just knock his head off.

Was playing the game a few days ago on my new playthrough and had another great Fallout moment. Was grinding up in the desert by Novac so could pass a speech check that was coming up in the story. Fighting some Radscorpions. Well I see a Giant Radscorpion and nearly shit my pants. I was already having a hard time with the regular ones since I was low on ammo. So I'm backpedaling and tossing mines down/hitting him with my weak pistol ammo. Finally kill him and get the level up. Turn to the left and see 4 more Giant Radscorpions already on my ass. No way I was going to live this so I start backpedaling and swinging my baseball bat. I get backed into the one and only goddam rock in the whole valley and get demolished. Died in my Bright Follower space suit

I did invest in stealth though, and it made the stealth suit even better. With 80 stealth, the suit buffed it to 100 and I could bump into somebody and still remain unnoticed. Throw in silent running and ninja perks and my character was a stealth god. I personally tend to invest in stealth, small guns, melee, speech, and repair.

I usually invest in stealth, melee, speech, small guns and I forget what else in 3. In New Vegas unarmed is the coolest shit ever, I was literally able to beat a Deathclaw until it's head exploded with my bare hands. Also, if you have Old World Blues there is a perk called implant GRX, get that shit. Get both ranks, you can thank me later. I loved all the implants in New Vegas, I had all of them and it made me feel like a cyborg badass.

For my first playthrough in Fallout 3 I invested in Barter, Speech, Small Guns, and Energy weapons. For NV, I invested in Guns, Barter, and Speech. My second NV playthrough though, I invested in Barter and Speech, but I also added Melee Weapons and Unarmed too. My second Fallout playthroughs usually include Melee Weapons just to mix it up, and its always fun. Using Melee weapons in NV is even better though (IMO), because theres so many of em, not to mention that there are different ways of attacking too. I stuck w/ that Rebar Club forever lol.
