I'd rather it wasn't. I've explained my reasoning prolly a dozen times on this site, lol, but I'm really not digging the concept of playable bosses.

Hope it's Havik or maybe Reiko but not Fujin. Personally, I don't like Fujin at all.

from what i've been reading the most popular characters after rain, kenshi and skarlett were fujin, havik, shinnok, cyber smoke, tanya, reiko so it could be any of those characters. personally i really do hope it's shinnok, but i wonder how they would implement him into the next mk if he were to be playable in this one. if not shinnok then i would love it to be fujin. eveindence is poitning towards it being reiko as the stance looks like him, he's pretty popular and since people have been asking for boos charcters, NR can make reiko like a junior shoa kanh, with a mini hammer or something and about 1billion percent less damage than kahn does. no matter what character it is, i don't think i'll be disappointed and i'll be happy no matter who it is, knowing that NR will put as much work into the character as they have with the rest.

Middle guy isnt Rain in my opinion.
It's Csmoke. its the Cybernetic hair in the wind.

All jokes aside, at this point, I'm actually starting to think the placeholder silhouette is indeed the silhouette for DLC Basemale. But both DLC Basemale and the placeholder pic are the real placeholders for... Fujin. It would make a lot of sense; remember the video of the leaked DLC? When you choose him in the character select screen (if you have the leaked DLC), the announcer would clearly say Fujin. The leaked DLC is completely legit, considering is the same source from where Skarlet's unfinished 1st fatality, arcade ending, unfinished X-Ray (the finished X-Ray is similar to the unfinished one except for the heel to the eye and of course more polish), voice soundfiles, and intro were leaked and also the klassic outfits for the cyborgs. And to those who might say that the Fujin soundfile will pull a "Brutality" (a red herring) on us, that isn't accurate because the Brutality soundfile wasn't a red herring, those were actually going to be in the game but they cut it due to time constraints. This leads me to believe that Fujin, the mystery 4th DLC character, is the character they are holding back until they see the sales of the DLC characters Skarlet, Kenshi, and Rain. NinjaBoy66 said that there is no turning back on Kenshi, Skarlet and Rain, but he didn't include the 4th DLC character in that tweet. This would also explain Ed Boon's tweet, "Come back in a year and tell me Fujin is in MK9."; he is being held back at the moment and won't officially be a DLC character until they see the (inevitably strong) sales of Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain.

I think it'd be better if Shujinko was used as sort of a boss character but against the bad guys. Kind of like goro and kintaro. Shujinko has a combination of too many good moves. Young shujinko might be cool to be playable as he can be toned down. But older shujinko >.>... That guy is too boss.

Mk9 we only played on the good side. I'd like to see a story line for bad and good side next time. And shujinko would make a perfect good guy boss later down the road.

JUNE - Skarlett
JULY - Kenshi
AUGUST - Rain
SEPTEMBER - ??????

sucks, I know. but it will be worth it.

I can totally picture 20 years from now a character called Dee Ell See to be introduced into the game lol

The characters that I want for DLC after Skarlett, Kenshi, and Rain are:
Cyborg Smoke (who I would choose over any of them)
Tanya
Reiko
Fujin
Kai
another new character

I think it will either be Reiko or Fujin. After this set of 4, I'm hoping they do other characters later, like Tanya and C. Smoke. I will be mad if they just do a Cyborg Smoke costume for Human Smoke, as opposed to a new character.

Umm...what? The Sub-Zero in the game IS the same person as Cyber Sub-Zero. When you play as Sub-Zero in Story mode, you play as the brother, (the original died in the beginning of Story mode) who then gets transformed into Cyber Sub-Zero.

I hope that clears things up for you and anyone else thinking that Cyborg Smoke will be a DLC character in the future.... Its just NOT gonna happen! If anything, they will just make Cyborg Smoke an alternate costume for Human smoke (Same concept as human Sektor and human cyrax)!

You speak with such confidence, like you work at NRS or something. :p Who cares that there are 2 of the same character in the game. Cyber Sub-Zero and Sub-Zero are the same person in MK9, and they've done it with UMK3 with the 2 Smokes, what makes you think that they won't again? A Cyborg Smoke (or any DLC character for that matter) would not be canon if NRS doesn't want it too. It's just an extra character for the fans.

Boon in an E3 interview said that these first 4 are already decided and being worked on. Any other characters after this, they are still deciding.
