Is it still scrubby to use Kung Lao?

I love people who play online and then criticize someone for being good with a certain character... Saying the character is "broken".

Sounds like a bunch of butt-hurt people to me.

If I gave a rat's ass about playing online, I'd do whatever felt right when playing as my selected character. If I'm Kitana, I'm gonna spam the shit out of her fan throw and make you cry your heart out.

If you KNOW Kung Lao is super difficult when played a certain way, figure out HOW to beat him at his own game. That makes you the better player. Cause crying about it only makes you look like a sore loser. There is no wrong or right way to play the game with what NRS gave us.

Like it or get the **** out.

You should use whoever you feel comfortable using. Screw what everyone else says, they're just mad because they get spanked by a lot of Kung Lao. I would advise you don't do the dive kick everytime you jump in the air because every Kung Lao seems to think this is the greatest strategy ever, also spinning on wake-up gets really predictable, other then that, go nuts!

I do NOT consider Kung Lao op, however, I DO get annoyed by clear awful players who just take advantage of Kung Lao's inumerous tools which are really, really hard to punish. You cannot jump with him, you cannot rush down, you can barely zone him, you have to defend low constantly, you have to watch out his teleport, it's simply too much because there really is NO bad match-up for him. Facing a fantastic Kung Lao who can actually juggle with him is awesome, but let's be honest guys, most Kung Lao players online are just people who search for easy wins because it is pretty easy to play with him and actually win.

I don't consider anyone op, but I have to admit I lost a lot of respect for Kung Lao and Raiden, they are just annoying...

for one i dont think you should be careing about what other people think about you, so if you wanna use him go for it.
IMO he is overpowered but i beat him most of the time. thats why i call myself "the kung lao killer" lol

i agree kung can be defeated if you learn. im suprised more people dont trip out on ermac. he is WAY to overpowered. they said they were going to patch overpowered fighters whos combos do more damage without xray. he has a 52% damage combo still with No xray OR enhanced. like hes a boss or something. same with lui kang, you miss one low block and he will combo you nonstop. the damage needs to be reduced on alot of fighters and much needed balancing still needs to be addressed. kung lao was toned down thank god. his main thing is his spin. fighters always use that when you come in. what i do is dash in then out(fake out) then punish them after they spin. the drop kick if blocked is highly punishable too. i dont use him, but he is defeatable. ermac lui are another story. smoke no prob, noob, just use jade or skarlet.

I don't think Kung Lao is Over Powered, he just has alot of very effective moves, and you can kick some ass if you use him right.
It's not like scorpian who has just cheap ass moves that a noob can spam, with Kung Lao you really have to know how to use his moves.

He's not overpowered at all, what the hell. He's been nerfed more than once, and he's nowhere near being overpowered.

No disrespect but you might be a scrub. Being the best character in the game doesn't make you overpowered no matter what any kid online says.

Actually, being the best DOES make you overpowered; because your the best, therefore, you lack enough weaknesses, therefore you are overpowered, or rather, "Too powerful"

Having said that, I have no problem with Kung Lao players.

how do u figure scorpion is the easist character to use yes but if u mess up once wtih him the match is pretty much over for him.

and if lao's tp is blocked it knocks u back there for making it a safe block even if u block his flying kick it will push him away making that safe as well.

but if u know the fighter then i see no problem with using him just don't spamm his safe moves.

and the reason i say lao is broken or op is because he can spin spam u in the corner even if u try and block it. It still hit's u the spin can be used 2 times in a row but the recovery time is so small that if u go to get up lao can just start the spin again.

I use kratos frist and foremost so I know how bad people ***** over who u use like it's there choice to make. I say use who u want just learn how to use him u don't have to kno the whole move set just what makes him effective with out spamming.

It's never been scrubby to play with him. He just has a really easy mix-up game and people fall for his wake-up Spin too easily.

characters should all have a weak area IMHO. He has not got an obvious one. But player skill is more relevant. I would still lose with Kung Lao!

I still don't know why many people use the word "cheap" talking about players they fight against.
Everybody can pick any character, and use a couple moves anytime he wants.
If you want to pick Raiden and do 100 Electric Fly in round 1, is perfectly fine...every tactic is legit, there is no right way to play the game.

I don't think Kung Lao is OP...
Of course he is a great character but after the patches, all his specials are easily punishable so he isn't OP anymore.

Kung Lao is powerful but I enjoy fighting against him.

If you want to talk about cheapness/scrubness, look no further than LK, Raiden and dare I say, Cyrax.

There's a reason good players use Kung Lao, and the crap players use LK, Raiden and Cyrax.

I love playing with kung lao, i could care less what anyone thinks. i have won alot with him and i have also gotten my butt kicked some too. so its no excuse to say he's a scrubs character

Crap players pick all characters. Kung Lao is the main one, because they need to abuse him just to be able to win.

Who gave me the +Rep? Very flattering comment. haha :P

Yep. I always face people who do the same combo. It's just not fun. And whenever I'm trying to to not get hit, the opponent spams hats at me. Honestly, he is kind of overpowered. I mostly see him teleport and do that flying kick though. That teleport gets on my nerves...

yeah but really if you use Cyrax's resets against a player not on-par with yourself then your the one abusing. also i think Raiden is the biggest character scrubs pick because of his tele port grab and super-man, he also has a really easy bnb

Wait what? I've always had more respect for people who can use most/all characters instead of just a few. Nothing proves your mastery of a game than when you can consistently use Random Select and still kick ass.

I also don't know how Cyrax is cheap since you actually have to know him to do anything remotely devious with him.

I fought a really good CSZ last night. He's REALLY impressive in the right hands. All pressure and it's like trying to beat up a wall when you give it back.
