When Is It Okay To Rage Quit?

When Is It Okay To Rage Quit

Quitting during a fatality to get to the next game defys logic. Well atleast in the EU/UK considering how F'ing long it takes to get a game.

Then again these are probably manifestations of all the soot for toothpaste and tea we drink.

I did the math. like every 5-6 matches that has a fatality done in it.

loses you an entire match you could've played.

you might lose a little bit of time finding a new person. but once you find them, you're saving loads of time.

especially if it's me and bbblp and we play for hours.

If people THINK I'm rage quitting. They are free to assume w/e they want.

I always hit start, so my menu is open, to wait to see if they jab me. If they hop around, or fatality. I hit quit game.

only during the fatality moment so we know clearly who the winner is.

IF they quit after fatality. I don't see that as RQ'ing. I know some people don't like getting double flawlessed, so they'll find someone a little closer to their level so they can experiment.

The only time I assume they Rage quit, (Legit believe it)

is if they send me a hate message.

maybe they had time for only one match, and they had to leave.
maybe their friend just invited them to a game. And he's trying to not leave him waiting.

so many factors. If you just straight up assume everyone's angry. Then that's on you.

The same can be said for the people doing the fatalities on other people.
You can't assume that everyone that does a fatality on you is angry with you or showboating.
That's on you.
There are lots of people who just LIKE fatalities.
I strictly play people on my friends list, so I'd believe that someone on my friends list wouldn't take it personal.

You're missing the point.

I don't care what their intentions are for doing a fatality.

My only concern is the wasting of my time.

that's it. I have no feelings about their motivations. I just don't want my time wasted.

I'm not upset, I don't think their being an intentional dick. I have a preference to play as many matches as quick as possible. I like productivity in every aspect of my life. and Fatalities are non-productive in casual/training environments.

My respect to you comes to your win. I don't care how well you can get yourself jump distance and dial D,D,B,D,4

Fair enough Critical. I honestly believe on average your going to waste more time quiting out during a fatality.

How longs a fatality on average? 15 seconds? It usually takes about 15+ seconds more to quit out of the game and for chat room to refresh etc, then an random amount of time to find another opponent.

As you say playing against people you know saves time if you dont do the fatalitys, but for example you face 8 people in a row to do fatalitys to you and you quit out during the fatality to save time, the chances are you will not save time against watching the Fatality, clicking yes and judging the next person agrees to play again, straight to character select for another game.

That is obviously quicker than, pressing start selecting quit, agreeing to leave the session, acidentally watching half of the fatality anyway, waiting for for the exit to load, chatroom to refresh and going through potentially countless declines(hell even staight up challenge accept) Is going to take longer than watching the fatality.

How many games could you have had quitting out and finding a new foe? Part of the game we cannot change, i just see no logic to quitting during a fatality on the grounds of saving time.

I dont think we can get a definitive answer to this either considering everyones MK9 online experience is different.

I mentioned that because BBBLP has mentioned before that people doing fatalities on him online comes off with the same disdain as someone who is teabagging, but I just don't see the comparison.

well your belief is person dependant.

IF you're a complete noob, you're gonna run into alot more fatality users than me. Because from my experience, The less skilled players are the ones that do fatalities every match.

The amount of times I run into someone who wins 6/10 matches against me that spams fatalities is really rare.

Not trying to toot my own horn here, but the lower level guys from my experience spam the fatalities, and lets be serious here.

I don't lose to those guys, so it's usually THEM that quit on me.

most of the time I find someone better than me. 90% of the time they will jab kill me or use blood code with me.

It's pretty rare when I run into someone who does a fatality evertime in chat rooms.

now when it comes to RANK matches. I always just quit out. there is no "retry" scenario. and no chance to do blood code. and i can generally quit out faster than they can come hit me.

and no I've never sat halfway through a fatality to leave. You can't pause the game during a fatality. You have to pause it during "finish her/him"

and by that time you can easily quit out usually the exact split second they start it or not.

and it depends on the fatality and how long you sit there waiting for them to do it. It can add up to more than 15 seconds man. try around 30. from the time they hit you with the last hit.

and that's not counting if they jump around like a monkey first.

The only time I eat up a fatality and hit retry, is if my opponent is so much better than me. That I can learn something, and quitting out is counter-productive despite the time wasted in fatalities.

But those cases are really rare for me.

MOST serious high level players. end the matches quick with no blood code.

No. I said fatalities and teabagging are the same thing. Ways to show dominance over your opponent. One of the Netherrealm team members even confirmed this in one of the MKast videos. I didn't say I felt offended or hurt, it just is what it is.

Also Deadman, I cannot speak for Critical, but I don't quit when in chatrooms. Only in Ranked.

There is no real need to quit out during a fatality. in a player match.

I will hit no on "rematch though" unless they are WAY WAY better than me.

I play ranked because I have commitment issues. I don't like playing the same person for more than 2 matches.

Deleted that last post, phones been correcting things in to worse gibberish and was really no point in posting it. I just rage quit on my goddam phone

I raged on a Mila spammer last night in DOA5. Wish I hadn't lost my rank then because of it. But I raged, I raged hard. Shouldn't have because I beat him twice before to get my A- rank then raged and now back to B+.

Fatalities take time to do, but, come on....don't tell me it doesn't feel awesome to obliterate someone and do a fatality on them just to rub it in.

Not saying this towards anyone here, but, it just seems that a lot of people upset about it are the ones who lose and get a fatality done on them, or, the ones who don't know how to do a fatality, lol.

I raged hard in TTT2 one day.
Like punching the door type of rage, but I didn't quit.

I took my ass whooping, beat the door, grabbed some tea and went right back in.

When I obliterate someone I like to end it quick. Give them no time to realize what the hell just happened. Did anyone get the plate number on that Crimson Truck?

It doesn't feel awesome to fatality someone.

A baby though?

That actually has meaning. And I do occasionally like to baby people in chat that talk trash.

Atta boy! I went in a lobby, got my ass whopped but I put up a fight. I had like 6 cups of green tea in me and I didn't even rage.

Only this one match that was really laggy I had to quit, man it was really unplayable.

This is the PSN gamertag of the guy who rage quit on me last night during a racing session on Need for Speed: The Run.

Each race session with other people lasts for 3 different tracks and there are standings for each section (you start off on one track, cross the finish line, then the second track loads up after a quick intermission, you cross that finish line, third track loads up after a quick intermission, and then everyone gets their final overall results and a prize for top 3).

We were on the second track of three. I had beat him on the first track and then finished 1st again on the second track. The stats go up at the end of the race to show the scores so far and then the message comes up on the screen that he had left the game and so I had to go back to the menu to choose the next race to connect to.

I sent him a message making fun of him and then blocked him so he could type out a huge response, only to get a blocked message.
