When Is It Okay To Rage Quit?

When Is It Okay To Rage Quit

I generally avoid rage quitting out of the consideration of other players.

A big exception are the presence of "griefers", people who take abuse some feature of a game with the intention of harassing other players. This more prevalant with team-based games, where players are expected to cooperate, but instead actively obstruct other people's playing sessions.

Best way to respect your opponent in Mortal Kombat is to uppercut them. Everypony knows that.

Though to be honest I don't care if someone thinks I'm purposely being disrespectful, I'm just trying to get to the next match.

I love rage quits, I wish they would happen more. Theres nothing more hillariously satisfying than recieving hate mail and seeing those golden words "your opponent has left the game". Granted its a rarity I see those golden words anymore.

Sure its ok to do it. A bit pointless I agree in a fighter tho. A match can usually last about 215 seconds if that. If you can wait that long well, I imagine your going to have trouble with the ladies.

An opportunity for a fatality is like a reward for the winner.

I've seen them all, plenty of times, but I stay anyway, and just send a text to someone while they're doing it. I'm showing respect. It's disrespectful to quit, unless they're like "teabagging" you or something.

Agreed 100%.
Unless you tell someone something like "I'm heading out after this" or "1 more match and I'm out after that," quitting is a bish move, ESPECIALLY during a fatality.

Quitting during a fatality is just as much of a bish move as someone not getting the Freddy Krueger patch, so that the other person can't use it.
They paid for the game, and they won the match, and it's a reward for the winner.
NRS should do something for MK10 where the winner can still do the fatality, and the loser can go on to the next game.
That way both people are happy.

Hara kiri's won't deter rage quitting that much, especially for players who just want to move to the next match. To them, it's another loss and another cut scene to wait through. The novelty wears off after watching it so many times.

Nevertheless, fatalities are part of the game, not some game-breaking bug. Everyone who plays it knows what they're getting into. As a compromise, there should a option to turn disable fatalities if this becomes a prevalent problem and have an online filter out for those who think their time is too precious.

You want to know what else is apart of the game? The pause button, and the quit option. Fatality is not your reward, the W is. It is not a bish move at all. You really need to see them that bad? There is a fatality trainer for you to get your rocks off with.

I cannot see how you want to watch the same damn cinematic over and over. I'm here to play a game son, who's got next?

Not true in MK; in arcade ladder, if you change character during the game you get a loss - however, if you do it after the "Finish Him" prompt you are not affected. Now taking this to online gameplay, if you quit durring online game play after the prompt - both parties will get a disconnect and neither is awarded the W or L per say - this is a glitch I found while trying to get the "10 in a row" in ranked matches. I went 15 in a row with no achievement.

It's is VERY much a bish move if you don't get the W and it counts as a disconnect.

RQ is probably the MAIN reason that I don't have some of the online trophies, and NRS need to fix that shit in the next game.
Online trophies are bullshit, to begin with, unless it's co-op / tag-team, because people are a bunch of bish-made muthaf***as, who give 0s and constantly RQ.
If you quit, it should count as a loss.
Plain and simple.

Wasne aware of that. Doesn't matter to me though. Fatalities are boring, I'm skipping them :fawkdance:

This is the main reason why I always go for the "No Blood" kombat code - I'll offer it first but if it's not accepted then I know that their intent is to troll me with a fatality, this is normally when I feel like I have been left with no other choice but to use one.

Why does it have to be a troll move though.
Fatalities are a part of the game, just as much as characters and DLC are.
If the game has them in there, I want to do them because I like them.
If I tea-bagged then did a Fatality, THEN it would be trolling.

It's a troll because it's meant to add salt to the wound. I know that it's a troll because we both will put in the kombat kode and they will wait to the last second then change it, the obvious way - if it looks like a mistake then I'll skip the fatality.

I am okay with it "being a part the game" but "pause and exit" is too. I hate RQs and people hate having to wait for the other guy to get his ego stroked by getting a fatality in. So to be fair, I'll skip the fatality if it prevents a RQ, now everyone is happy and I get a rematch screen instead of a disconect prompt.

How is teabagging trolling? Ducking is apart of the game.

Teabagging is a known troll move though-out ALL types of games, by the gaming community in general.
Teabagging started in shooters like Halo, and then later in MK, but anyone who plays other games aside from fighters, knows that teabagging is a douche move.

Fatalities have been known in MK, since 1992, though-out the gaming community as a "Finishing" move, along with Babalities, Friendships and Animalities.

If you're going to say that Fatalitites are trolling, then getting a last uppercut or hit instead of doing a fatality is also trolling, as soon as the announcer says "Finish Him/Her."
You technically did "finish" the opponent, as per Shao Kahn's instruction, you just didn't kill them. ;)
If they weren't MEANT to be in the game, then they wouldn't be.

Again, I also suggested the option in the next game to have the option to create matches without fatalities. This will allow like-minded players can play without worrying that someone is wasting their time with fatalities. That way, there should be no excuse for rage quitting.
