This game blows.

OP, ever thought you might just need a break from this game?

Maybe play something else for awhile or give games a rest for a bit. MK9 is on temporary hiatus for me while i'm play SF III OE.

Maybe 'Maximum Damage' from MK4 should make a return.

Y'know, I really don't think that would be a bad idea. So long as it doesn't set you up for a combo when you get knocked away.

Of course I've thought that haha. I've done it before, but I'm willing to try it again. I've NEVER liked SF, as a matter of fact, I've kind of always had this hatred for it. But when I saw SFIII, I'm not gonna lie, I thought it looked awesome. I would totally dl it and play it if the learning curve wasn't so scary.

I wish the game didn't have online. Then I wouldn't be forced to play it either.

People will try harder to find a LIVE person to play... if online didn't exist.

And people in person are way cooler than online. I can tell your how many angry/ragers i've seen at tournaments on one hand and I've been to like 30+. That's because someone who seems like a dick by the way he plays may not actually be one. I've played against people with really boring styles and they even apologize to me lol. And then I'm like "It's cool man if it helps you win go for it"

I'd have to say my worst experience IN REAL LIFE.

I beat a guy, barely it was a really close game. But since I was from out of state and not well known in the area. I guess he thought he lost to a random and apparently he's expected to place decently high. So I knock him out round 1. he yanks out his controller HARD and scoffs and shakes his head and walks away w/o shaking my GG hand.

So I thought ok.....

Went on to do the rest of the tournament.

The guy followed me around for every game of mine. And would shout "That's GAY!" if I did a combo. And would shout "GOOD STUFF" when I got combo'd except more vulgar. It was a little distracting not gonna lie.

I wanted to punch his face. But I just kept ignoring him instead.

I've pretty much always agreed with your posts, Critical. We definitely need to form a more tightly knit local offline community. And online definitely makes that seem impossible. I also think that I'd rage less if it were in person and I could see the guy and know he's not heckling my play style the whole time.

And wow, lmfao. What a sore loser. That's such a horrible trait. I can only imagine how much respect he lost that day.

I'm taking a break because I realized I could play Reach online even without all the DLC bought and I completely forgot Reach's story mode. I also bought Fallout 3 and Borderlands (both Game of the Year editions) for 20$ each and haven't touched either. Also MK9's online really is aggravating at times. Rarely do you ever find someone that isn't TylerLantern-esque skilled or a complete moron who doesn't know anything besides the jump kick and the uppercut (both useful moves, but some people spam these a lot). So I have to agree to a degree and keep myself motivated for more DLC, plus MKAK on wednesday for XBLA

I called him out on the boards. Luckily he admitted it.

And then his real life friends schooled him for me.

yeah with online... no one wants to leave the comfort of their home. I use to regularly drive 2 hours+ every weekend to play friendlies/tournaments/fests to play offline with a bunch of people. Pigofthehut posted EVO afterparty vids. They looked like they were having SOOO MUCH FUN. If you saw them....

All of that shitty attitude just makes me long for the arcade days.. It would be awesome (Especially during these hot summer days) to go to an airconditioned arcade and beat down some people, and get beat down of course haha.

Well if you guys want a funny story, i live in central Canada and many years ago when i was like 16 (jeez, thats 10 or more years ago *sigh*) i used to play ALOT of Marvel VS Capcom at the local arcade...anyways it was fun and id lose a good amount to the local kids but wasn't terrible, but there was this one guy who was so good at it, and he actually saw me playing lots and he starting teaching me how the game worked and the combos, secrets and his characters.

So he said to save quarters i should watch him play for awhile, and i did, he used Strider and Spider Man mostly. I used to use guys like Mega Man, Venon and even...well Spider Man on easy move mode.

Well this guy taught me first, the basics of not using easy mode and also the potential of some characters like Spiderman and Strider, he taught me from scratch ALL or most of Striders combos and showed me how to use Spiderman as effectively as Strider with moves and combos, this was all in an arcade using quarters lol.

In the end i got so good with Spiderman and Strider, that it translated into Venom which was one of my 2 mains, then i started using Wolverine lol. Then the rea; fun started, i had lots of the asians i mentioned before playing me quarters after quarters until they got so mad they threatened to beat me down, its like they took it personal, luckily my little crew was big enough to defend me when this happened lol, nothing happened, but it still was hilarious lol.

Just a funny true teen story lol

Also my 3 mains were Spiderman, Venom then Strider.

LOL awesome story. Thankyou for sharing. That's another thing about arcades that I liked more. There was always someone willing to show you something you didn't know. Thats very rare these days. No one wants to tell anyone shit. Y'know. I just lost like 10 rounds to lag. and this summer weather isn't helping my temper and ability to keep calm at all. I just.. UGH. I need to not play this online for a lonnnnnnnnng time.

Not gonna deny it, online sucks, but I have found amazing players as well and I can show to people a Nightwolf can kick their ass several times ;)

I miss the arcades since they died. Would save up a lot of money and spend a couple of hours there at a time. When I played KI2 I had people coming over with wide eyes asking me 'how the hell do you do that stuff?' Good times.

Let's start an arcade! please.

Omg, the fact that all my local arcades are closed makes me feel old D: "Jillians" and "Dave and Busters" don't count, dammit! Ahh, I LOVED it when I was a kid and I'd get to play Mortal Kombat, Time Crisis, and House of the Dead in the same loud, techno-blasting room with other people face-to-face, man. Online is NOTHING like that experience and never will be. Meanwhile, in Japan, they have tons of arcades with multiplayer virtual reality Gundam suits battles. They literally jump into a Gundam suit and have virtual battle. Not fair!

Japan makes almost everything cooler...

Did you say virtual Gundam suit battles?

I-I think I might actually cry. I want to go to Japan...
