This game blows.

What? What are you trying to say, exactly? I'm sorry that I don't like the fact that there's 70% combos in this game. NO character(aside from a boss) should be able to do that much damage with 1 combo. Besides, TL's vids get more or less the most views. So that's where most people learn their combos.

I love you Poodle, but thats probably the biggest thing that pisses me off.

People think that just because I come up with savage combos in the lab that I'm "stealing" them from youtube.

After wrecking some kid he sent me a message: "Nice tyler combos fag"
I nearly went apeshit on that idiot.

Tyler ****ing Lantern is not the goddam emperor of combos!

Srs face.

I know what you mean, the community on this game is complete shit. If I win most of the time I will get a msg "spammer!" or something on those lines, regardless of how I played. If I lose its "haha you suck blah blah"

Seriously, I received 12 messages from a guy today who said I spammed Mileena, and he was spamming the lobby (irony) about how I spam with her. Does he realize how impossible it is to play Mileena as a spammer when most of her specials are not safe? I play her as a rushdown using mixups, how is that spamming? Keep in mind all he did the whole match was use Cyber Sub's air kick which I would block then counter

I currently have 20+ people on my PSN ignore list and ALL of them are from MK9. I didn't even know there was a block list in PSN till this game...

Though I think the online community is many times salty, ugly, and embarrassing, I still enjoy going on it and trying to up my skills by playing the good players. I've met a lot of cool people online. But most importantly, for me it's the only way to practice for offline tournaments. I'm going to another one this Saturday.

Viking_Poodle, I think you should look around on this site, the other MK sites, and around the internet for local offline tournaments in your area. I'm sure you could find something coming up. In real life, players are definitely not as stupid as they are in MK9 chat rooms, and you might actually meet someone to play regularly with.

I know, and completely understand why that would piss you off. It was only an example. I know that many of us actually spend the time to learn our own high damage combos. Sorry if the comparison offended anyone, it was merely an example.

Looks like OP got spammed a few times and "ragequitted".

Looks like you don't read very well. Thanks for the contribution. Refer to :

for a correct way to respond. And thankyou for the suggestions, Kergon. It's definitely the anonymity factor that turns people into shitheads.

I like that story cause the king of combos is actually CHECK4900. But seriously long combos are not easy to do and people who work harder to be better deserve some reward.

Do people not understand that Viking Poodle could be the best player in the world but what he hates is the online community? Him and people like me don't enjoy dominating over pricks and spammers and losers.

Exactly. I'm in no way shape or form the best in the world, but my big issue is the community itself. But I guess it's like others have said : It comes with the online feature regardless of the game. Even still, it's disgusting that people can't act even a little more mature. I understand a little bit of trash talk here and there for fun, but when the board is full of ****ing hate and absolutely nothing encouraging gets sent your way(Yes, if I'm fighting someone who I can clearly tell is struggling I send them tips in a message.), I get a little grossed out.

I completely agree, but wouldn't you say 30-50% damage is quite enough of a reward? That's almost half of your opponent's life bar! Not too shabby imo.

I haven't had much chance to observe the MK community outside of these forums (I still get the lost connection match errors), but even though I agree that the anonymous internet makes people act worse to each other, I have played a lot of Assassins Creed Brotherhood online and I've always found that community to generally be the most mature and pleasant online gaming group I've experienced.

Yea it should be capped around 50 to be fair. Its not the percentage thats important to me just the joy of watching my opponent fly in the air for a few seconds.

A damage cap on combos?

**** that shit.

Some combos are hard as hell to do, but the damage makes them worth while.

Pretty much, Im an ACB vet and a very well known player. I send GG after every message and have written many guides on it. But its not a fighting game so thats irrelevantXD

Tekken is the same way, people say gg and move on. People that say all communities are like this are wrong, this is the worst online community since COD(Even worse imo).

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. Honestly I hate CoD, but the fact that you can't type mindless shit into a chatroom within the game between matches makes it slightly more tolerable.

They certainly are hard to do, but wouldn't you say 50% damage is enough? That seems ridiculous to me. Better than 70% for sure, though.

Y'know, the more I see this, the more I get pissed off. If you don't have anything constructive to say, get the **** out. It's this kind of mentality that pisses me off. Ucah8er, you have been a dick like this in numerous threads. You never have shit to say, you're just quick to insult.

Honestly if a little shallow trash talk bothers you so much then I think you should leave. If you're not having fun with the game anymore then you're not having fun anymore. You can't force it. And trash talking is a part of EVERYTHING! Whether it be from videogames to MMA to chess, you are gonna encounter your fair share of trash talkers.

Imo, so long as resets are not involved, then bring on the 50%'ers.

Also provided that they actually take some skill/timing to do.

Problem is, it's not a "little" shallow trash. It's a constant flow of it. And that's why I AM leaving. I can take trash talk here and there, big deal, it's fun. But when all you're seeing in the chatroom is constant ********, it's really no good. There should definitely be a degree of sportsmanship.

Lol there is no sportsmanship on console gaming online. How I feel is that if someone gets angry that I beat them, then it sweetens the deal knowing that not only did I beat them, but beat them to the point where they have to try to insult me. I get a kick outta that :P And if they're talking ish after beating me then I just brush it off and evaluate on how I can improve. But just remember:

i will do what i always do in online games (like black ops) just try to ignore as much as i can, there must be normal players to face instead of the other spammer dudes if that doesnt work i will go offline for i while and play arcade :)

On Topic: Quit crying and either practice and get better at the game or go play something else.

This was funny because i only had xbox live for a free 1 month and yes im a Scorp user but i never used the so called cheap spamming tactics but i started using things like combos and even his little low kick, upkick kombo, and EVEN his foward axe kick and that did WAY more good than most of the spamming crap to kill people to get me from a score of like 80/120 to around 190/170.

Trust me pull the low to up kick and then the 10% axe kick a couple times and that teaches them lol.

Well with my Scorp at least, not this whole crazy thread of craziness...

It's always nice to see a really good scorpion player. Poor Scorpion is oversaturated with spammers. He's got such a bad rep, but imo, he's a good character. Just has a "scrub" reputation. But yeah, congrats on getting your record up. I think mine is at 400-200. Not entirely sure, but it's definitely around there.
