Street Fighter VS Mortal Kombat

Would you support a gore-free Street Fighter VS MK?

I would b/c I want whats best for the franchise.

I love the over the top style gore of the series, but if they made an exception for this kind of game I understand and would enjoy it for what it is. And if Capcom wanted to have their guys destroy the MK characters and not the other way around I would lol about it

I also wonder if they would have two separate games. One in the art style and fight mechanic of Street Fighter, and the other in the art style and fight mechanic of MK. With both games having the same stages and what-not.

Thats what street fighter x tekken and tekken x streetfighter are doing.

Id like to toasty ken and ryu all day everyday.

hell no, then mk would be just your generic fighter like street fighter is...sorry, but mk with no blood, would not be an mk game at all.

Negative man we saw what happens when you take away the essence of MK. You get ****ing MK vs. DC. No thanks team MK with Killer Instinct and keep the gore!

Lol I used to say it a bunch as a kid.

I remember listening to the first 6 or 7 episodes of Jay and Silent Bob podcast(the only good eps) and he used it so much I got back into saying it a little bit.




-This wouldnt be a change in series philosophy. It would just be a way for the MK and SF team to pull this off. A 1 time deal. And it should be much better then MK/DCU b/c of the teams experience in pure fighting games.


If the choice is do this gore-free or dont do it all I would support them doing it

Mine as well dude! Im 27 so I remember all the crappy MK clones in the arcades and Killer Instinct did it right and was pretty bad ass. Orchid Vs. Mileena or Cyrax Vs. Fulgore would be the shit. If they did it it would be amazng but the chances for it happening are slim to none.

No.no.no.no. I would never support such trash. Mortal Kombat is all blood and gore and they tried to do gore-free (DC Universe, anyone?) and the fans didn't like. HOWEVER, street fighter is a different story. Boon tweets frequently about trying to do the SF VS MK crossover (he said he has tried alot) but the fact is the creator of Street Fighter doesn't like MK... he says it's too simple and SF is more mature and complex,etc... But if Street Fighter X Mortal Kombat actually happened, I would only buy it if it had blood and gore. Imagine Ryu doing a hadoken that blows Scorpion's torso out LOL!!

Nope, this is the very reason this game should not, and probably never will happen. I like MK and Street Fighter, but they'd never work together, both games play different, sure the idea is cool, but MK without fatalities aint MK, thats why I played MK vs DC only once before trading it in.

This. Mortal Kombat without blood is like drinking without getting drunk. What sets Mortal Kombat apart is the over the top gore. Take that away.. And you get... well... A good fighter.. But it ain't Mortal Kombat.

No, I don't see why MK should be diluted to cater to SF. IMHO I don't think MK is an inferior game to SF in any way shape or form. There are many differences, yes, but simply because SF has a more established company in the industry than MK does doesn't make it a better game. These comparisons have been around since I first started playing MK almost 2 decades ago and I see them going for much longer. I've never been a huge SF fan, but I do see it's merit as a fighting game, somehow I feel that SF fans look down upon MK, but lets face it, if we place SF under the same scrutiny as MK, I'm sure we'll find it's drawbacks as well.

I wonder if the people that want this are teenagers that have only been playing these games for the last couple of years.

I love SF, but Capcom are going down the road of whoring out SF to just about anyone.

no.. love both of them but separated from each other lol. if that were to happen you'd see the whole.. japanese style entering the mk arena which doesn't fit at all (cough *like kratos* cough) and also mk would obviously have to get toned down a LOT so basically, it'd have to lose its nature and probably fatalities too. even if that happened, in theory lots would be 'wow can't wait for it' but in practice it would be a bad result due to the above reasons
 
That would be cool... never played SF. From what I hear the gameplay is different though. Is street fighter even a mature rated game?
 
No thx, two completely different animals.

As stated a thousand times before, Capcom will not have their characters displayed in a gore fashion and MK Vs DC showed how unpopular a T rated MK was.

Rather have CvS3.
