[SPOILER] Everything about story mode. Pics, videos, discussion, etc.

I really don't get why so many people hate on Armageddon, Midway did their best to end the series with all the characters that have ever been present, but the limitations of the PS2/Wii era prevented them from going much farther.

I believe we'll never get something like Armageddon again, it would be unbalanced, even if it would be fun.

Armageddon still stands as my favorite game in the series, probably thanks to the fun you could have by playing with all the characters ever on MK.

The problem is the sucky Konquest, Gameplay, character uniqueness and no fatalities and it being rushed.

Which is what is wrong with the game, I mean the roster was too huge, we could have done without the new lame characters and Meat and Jarek.

The series was in a downward spiral at the time, so Midway just didn't care anymore and put in everyone just for the hell of it.

Daegon and Taven were indeed uncalled for, if Konquest had Shujinko as the protagonist again maybe it could've been better.

Other than the gameplay, all of those things were limited by the PS2's capabilities.
Blaming engine capability is stupid. If the design and developer's choices are bad, they are bad, no matter how you'll look at it. And that is exactly how it was in Armageddon.

It's like saying that Ride to Hell: Retribution was pile of crap only because of PS3's / Xbox 360's limitations.

You could never make a game similar to MK9 on the PS2, that is impossible.Same way you couldn't get Armageddon on PS1.

The PS2 would never support fatalities for 64 characters, and I don't think the PS3 would either. It's potential was great, but the developers did make awful choices in how to handle it, though the lack of fatalities, bad Konquest and the un-uniqueness of the characters was caused mainly by the PS2's inability to handle so many characters.

Trying to get so many characters into one game will inevitably lead to some kind of backlash.

Now Ride to Hell is an entirely different situation as it was bad in every aspect, nothing redeemed it at all.Armageddon isn't the worst game ever made, it just isn't on par with the classic Trilogy or MK9.

Because of the lack of a Tennis Mode?

Hahaaaaaa...

No, because of the lack of any surprises during and after story mode. where's that "Surprise returning character" as a boss? i mean i like shinnok, he is one of my favorites but i was expecting someone else to be the final boss.

True, true, I feel the same way. I knew he would be a boss, but was hoping he would be kinda a mid-boss of sorts, and then a surprise boss would appear in the end. ^^

'surprise returning character'
'someone who hasn't been a boss before'

I like how even the game's Wikipedia article mentions Shinnok, but then goes on to say the game's primary antagonist will be a surprise returning character.

Boon's comments about the boss have all been lies. That is objective fact, regardless of the spin you choose to put on it.

And it really kinda sucks that we were trolled about the boss. Tbh, if NRS was just more straight forward about some stuff during this pre-release period I'm sure fewer people would feel so underwhelmed/frustrated/etc

I know this is a spoiler thread but Im still going to warn you to not open this for anyone who hasn't seen the ending

Spoiler:
Ok so do you guys think its possible that there are multiple endings in MKX??? Let me explain here is a side by side pic of Raiden

red eyes.jpg

On the left is Dark raiden warning the new rulers of the netherrealm. He tells them "There are fates worse then death"

Now Raiden on the right is from the MKX Launch trailer. In the trailer He also says "There are fates worse then death" So we have the same scene, the same quote coming from both Regular and Dark Raiden...... What do you guys think???

Cheers Lord Greyjoy!

Be sure to check their other videos too, quality isn't great but they have chapters from Kung Jin all the way to Raiden as well.

EDIT - Weird they seem to have missed Sonya's Chapter and the first half of D'Vorahs -
