SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

That's it?

Reiko gone through all that plot to end like this? Anti climatic, at the least, despite the scenes and the consequences for killing they used.

[...]

Well, look at the nonsense. Havik tells Reiko that he is no candidate for godhood, something that is wrong.

According to the comics, the Amulet was only accessible by the Kamidogu in the blood of a god.

They did with Reiko exactly what the Elder Gods did with Raiden. So, despite what Havik says, Reiko did reached some level of godhood.

[...]

Havik is not someone that sits on the throne and starts giving orders. I mean, "orders", right?

So, for my ears, it sounds like he is plotting something bigger.

When he says real god, a big "?" appears to me.

Because, considering he is not someone to rule, if he refers to Shinnok, I do hope they don't invent to release Shinnok right now.

That would be extremely idiotic, since that's MKX plot, and it would make an unnecessary repetitive plot to release Shinnok once, then put it in the Amulet again, then having him released again.

Despite the fact that we have Mileena there. She is dumb, but I doubt she would pick the Amulet again, on MKX events, knowing what it is. IMO, in the game, she held it knowing it was powerful, it was Shinnok's, but not knowing it's power at all.

If it is another one, please, don't make anybody cool, because the comics ended Reiko, and I really think that these people won't be used in future games. Since the comics are being written with a bandage covering the eyes, I would really be sad to see someone that could make a big game plot (knowing the original creators know how to fit their story) to end like Reiko.

Just read Issue #29 and I got to say im alil sad/disappointed that Reiko's already gone.

I guess anyones a puppet...which i knew he was but I wish we had gotten more out of him!

But still a good issue!!!

That's debatable, given that it was always pretty obvious Havik was manipulating Reiko and there was more going on with the "blood god" story than we were being told. I do think Reiko's fate was a lot more interesting than "everyone vs. blood god Reiko."

And nah, I don't think Havik's looking to free Shinnok. He just wants to use his amulet to spread chaos.

Completely out of character, IMO. That would mean Havik to rule, and rule is order, for reasons like this he didn't side Onaga on Deception.

Well, no, because just causing a bunch of upheavals with the amulet isn't ruling. Him not wanting to release Shinnok doesn't automatically mean he wants to rule, not at all. He might have already given his motivation away during his fight with Scorpion: he wants to kill all gods and give mortals everywhere absolute freedom. That's pretty Havik-y.

Which effectively makes the comic non-canon.

If characterization changing makes something non-canon, then that makes a few games non-canon.

To tel you the truth, just read the comic, and Havik looked very surprised to take the Amulet from Reiko's head.

It was like Reiko was pretty mad for the consequences of becoming a blood god, and, when he attacked Havik, this one got tired of the first.

And when he killed Reiko, he noticed that he summoned the Amulet.

IMO, it makes more sense, since to do that, as I said before, it's needed the blood of a god, so, despite Havik saying Reiko wasn't worthy, he did become a god.

It was like "*beating Reiko* you're just a punk, and *suddenly realizes* oh my...".

After reading this chapter, am I the only one who's confused about the purpuse of the Reiko Accords? i mean what is the need for them? when was it signed? could it have been existing before the heroes landed on Shang Tsung's Island? and why are they called the Reiko Accords anyways? shouldn't they be called the Havik Accords? i mean after all,we now know who was behind all of this mess to begin with, and if this is the case and Reiko is not going to stay alive, what did he accomplish with this so there should be a truce between Earthrealm and Outworld?

You have two answers for that.

1. Wait until the end of the comics and do your best to try to fit harmonically stories written by different people, one who knows 100% of the lore, other that knows 20% despite being incredibly creative, but always try to look the best side;

2. Understand that it doesn't make sense, and when it's YOU who has to interpretate harmonically something that it's said to be harmonic, then something is wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the comics alot, and I think that most of it is written well, at least better than most of the stories we got so far for MK in general, but I thought Reiko's death and the reasoning behind Havik's actions was pretty anticlimactic and made no sense.
Honestly its not going to make me stop enjoying the comics, but it was a pretty disappointing resolution, hey, maybe it's because I'm a big Reiko mark.

I understand and I agree it was anticlimatic. But I think the comics have turned into a whole anticlimatic cloud when the game revealed the true face of canon.

I feel like Shaolin Monks has been declared full canon. Awesome, but contradictory.
