SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

Lol

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha, you totally got the point LOL XD

To be honest I don't recognize most of the characters in there, I read the episode a few days ago and I forgot who was there lol and from this picture I can distinguish Mileena and Kotal but I don't know who the rest are lmao.

By the way, I have to say, I reeeally don't like the development of Fujin being the one to equip Takeda with his first whips. Fujin having a traditional Shirai Ryu mask lying around is one thing, but contemporary whip weapons? I would have been fine with it if they were actual rope whips, if this was just a rudimentary first pass, foreshadowing of what Takeda would eventually become, but those things look legit A.F. His getup is basically complete already.

Frick, it might as well have been Goro who gave them to him for all the sense it makes.

The comic inventions went beyond BS a looooooooooooooong time.

Those weapons SCREAM Special Forces, but, trying to make up the fact that the best Fujin ever had no role at all, so far, they...made him give Takeda his weapons?

I do follow what's happening, but it's sad and uninspiring to see how they invent BS.

You guys are picking on small things.

The only big things the comic has not handled well are:

1) Hanzo going to "make a God bleed" when he didn't know Raiden was possessed by Havik.
Why was he so upset about? Raiden had even come to warn him of a malevolent spirit. The dagger was a great responsibility. Did Hanzo just think keeping the dagger wouldn't bring about any danger?
Plus, Raiden is the one who saved him from literal Hell. He had done so many wrong things over the years in the name of vengeance, even fighting on Hell's side in a war that killed millions of people. He should go easier on Raiden who always tried to help. I never understood why Hanzo was so upset.

2) The nuke used by Kano. Why didn't Sonya radio for the SF to send them reinforcements and weaponry to defeat the shokans when a silly nuke from the black market so easily does the job? And it doesn't even iradiate the bystanders. If shokans are so easily defeated, why did the Earthreal governements have trouble with Shao Kahn's invasion back in MK9?

3) What was Sub-Zero doing with that dagger for so many years? Freezing cities in Indonesia? The comics make it seem like he stole that dagger from Daegon when Takeda was a child. Why did Havik wait that long to gather the rest of the daggers?

The rest, like why did Fujin have those weapons, is easily explainable. Fujin has been around for millennia. He has them because he has alliances and access to things normal mortals don't.

1 - If Raiden hadn't forced him to keep the dagger the Shirai-Ryu would still be alive.
2 - Because you can't nuke New York...
3 - He took it from a temple, Raiden sent him to do so but Kano cut him with it so he was possessed by it and started doing evil stuff.

What makes you think Sonya had a radio to contact the SF, or that there would have been time for them to get there before the Shokan overran them?

1- Ummm... forced?
2- Kano nuked right outside Zunkharah. That's why I said these short range nukes aren't written well in the comic. Remember the scene with Reptile where Striker's guns don't work on him? That gives a plausible reason for why Shao Kahn's army was so formidable. They should all have been imune to bullets (or at least resistant, as Kotal is when Sonya shoots him). But if you can wipe out half the shokan army with that small range nuke, Shao Kahn's army doesn't seem so fearsome anymore.
3- For 10+ years?

Jax using a cell phone from Hell to talk to his daughter in Outworld ;)))) makes me think that Sonya had radio contact with the SF. That portal the SF uses for travelling to Outworld is big enough for American helicopters to get through.
The Earthrealm champion and a personal friend of the "Secratary Blake" in the games was in immediate danger. I'm sure the US government would have approved a rescue operation.
But.....comic writing ;)

We don't know if they have that tech at this point, though. And we still don't know if they would have been able to get there in time, regardless of a rescue operation being approved immediately.

Also, the description for Chapter 31 is out.

Spoiler:
As the most powerful champions from Earthrealm and Outworld fall to the ultimate power contained within the Amulet of Shinnok, in one final effort, Takeda must use his newly-acquired fighting style to square off against Havik!

On the contrary, I think you are making good questions about the story itself.

But, before that, many wrong things cover the whole plot.

I don't know if I'm being clear, but, imagine some formal things. These are the first things that should be overlooked. Then the actual plot.

They BS a lot of things.

Yeah, but at least the comic is trying.
The games' writers didn't even bother with 3d characters.
Kittelsen has brought into attention 2 of my favourite characters, Daegon and Reiko and he made other characters look cool too (like Skarlet, Havik). He made some mistakes cause he didn't know the lore like us crackheads :bird: , but he has proven that he is concerned about what the community tells him.

He does, but I don't think someone should handle something to other someone that knows half the things.

And don't get me wrong, I do think Kittelsen is good at what he does, but, seriously, these comics went beyond imagination and consistency.

I do follow, but it's just because I like to see the characters. It totally sounds like non canon fan made fiction.

Here's the summary for Chapter 29: "The Blood God Cometh"!

Spoiler:
After the preview, Reiko begins musing on which of his prisoners shall be the first to have their very life consumed by him. Kotal Kahn and Mileena for not recognizing his glory? Or Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage before they can challenge his claim to Earthrealm? Havik, however, suggests that he consume none of them, for they all have their own uses: while Cassie was of no assistance, Johnny and Sonya could prove helpful in the cleric's research on green energy, and the people of Outworld would have to accept Reiko's rule if he executed Kotal, Mileena, and Ermac in public. Fortunately, knowing that the new and improved Reiko would be hungry for tributes, Havik has already arranged for the captured imperial troops and Tarkata to be brought in. Pleased to hear that they have a hundred prisoners in the dungeon, Reiko is somewhat less pleased when a Tarkatan spits at him in defiance and calls him a traitor to Mileena. Sucking out the Tarkatan's life force, Reiko orders Havik to bring in the remaining prisoners.

Off the the shore of Shang Tsung's island, the Shokan watch from aboard their ship as a beam of red light rises from the island into the sky. Disturbed by this new activity, Kintaro orders some scouts to head for the island to investigate. One of the other Shokan tries to say that goes against Sheeva's orders, but Kintaro angrily replies that Sheeva only ordered there to be no fighting, which scouting is not. If the Shokan are going to eventually fight, they need to know what Havik has unleashed.

Back on the island, Reiko calls for more prisoners as he basks in the remains of those he has already devoured. Havik regrettably informs him that there are none left, Reiko having sacrificed over a hundred in a single blast. Reiko complains that he still hungers for tribute, but as Havik tries to tell him to have patience, the new blood god tells the cleric of chaos to stop talking and slams him into a wall. Reiko demands that Havik tell him what he's done to him, having told him all about the power... but nothing about the pain, the hunger that he now feels throughout his entire body. As the creepily calm Havik asks him how badly it hurts, Reiko screams that it's tearing him apart... quite literally, as he begins to rip open his own chest! The possessed Raiden, Cassie, and Jacqui all grin at this scene, telling Reiko how the blood code requires great suffering to come with great power. Reiko continues to scream for someone to help him, as he begins pulling out his own innards and his face begins to melt right off!

Havik approaches the deteriorating Reiko, telling him how he was never a candidate for godhood, but only a vessel for a real god. With that, Havik jams his thumbs into Reiko's eyesockets and crushes his head, ripping out his brain! Squishing Reiko's brain, Havik is pleased by what he finds inside Reiko's remains and turns back to the captive "champions", asking them to confirm if they've really summoned what he thinks they've summoned... as he then holds triumphantly the Amulet of Shinnok!

Spoiler:
Oh dear, RIP General Reiko xD

Interesting that's where the amulet came from. How does that work? What was the amulet Raiden had in MK9?

I am confused by a lot of this stuff, even if it's interesting.

At least we know that Reiko is indeed dead by the time of MKX, that clears that up. I wonder what happens to Havik... they really should give him a spot in MKXI.

Spoiler:
Raiden's amulet in MK9 was his own, nothing to do with Shinnok's. It was established way back in the series that the Elder Gods used the Kamidogu to keep Shinnok's amulet locked away within in another dimension; Havik's true purpose here was to use the Kamidogu to unlock it, with Reiko basically acting as a door for it to come through.

Scary, but that's what happen to those power-hungry bastards, that don't pay attention to the finer details, such as the form of payment and consequences of going through the process. Now that explains the reason for the fallen Elder God's Amulet re-existing on Earthrealm once more.
