Picking up where we left off last chapter, Raiden continues to electrify many of those on the beach before Havik tells him to stop. Havik explains that for the blood god ritual, they need the blood of champions... as he looks over the unconscious forms of Sonya, Johnny, Kotal Kahn, and Mileena. He then orders the Red Dragon to take Reiko's body to the flesh pits to help him regenerate, the "champions" to the throne room, and the remaining Outworlders and Tarkata to the dungeon. As the Red Dragon go about their tasks, no one notices the many insects that begin to congregate on D'Vorah's remains...
Later, Sonya awakens to find herself chained to a table and gagged as the blood is drained from her via some tubes. Taking a moment to mock the conscious Sonya, Havik explains to the revived Reiko (sitting on his throne) how they now have all seven Kamidogu and how the champions' blood will serve as their sacrifice: for Johnny, Kotal, Mileena, and Ermac are all hooked up to the same fountain as Sonya. Taking a cup of blood from the fountain, Havik gives it to Reiko to drink... and then stabs all of the Kamidogu into him alongside the possessed Raiden, Cassie, and Jacqui! A torrent of blood and lightning engulfs Reiko as Sonya, Johnny, Kotal, and Mileena all look on in shock. It soon ends, and Reiko falls back to his throne... before abruptly grabbing Havik by the throat, declaring that more must be sacrificed in his name!
In the Jinsei Chamber, at the Sky Temple, the Jinsei finishes revitalizing Fujin as Takeda watches. Takeda then prepares to make haste for Shang Tsung's island, but Fujin interrupts him: because of Raiden's absence, the Jinsei needs someone to protect it, and so Fujin cannot go with Takeda. Takeda argues that they need to go after the Kamidogu, but Fujin counters that they are already in enemy hands, and that while there will be many casualties, he would be abandoning all life on Earth if he abandoned the Jinsei. Takeda is not happy to hear any of this, but Fujin then says that while he said he wouldn't go with him, he never said he wouldn't help him.
Giving Takeda a traditional mask of the Shirai Ryu, and a familiar set of whip gear, Fujin looks on as the young Shirai Ryu stands ready for battle: not to fight for vengeance, but for justice, just as Hanzo taught him!
