so many people saying this exact thing. First off, the teleport that is "Noobs" is a grab, not a special you can do anywhere you want, and they dont look the same. Second, who cares if his real teleport looks like sektors, is everyone forgetting that all the ninjas but noob that teleport go off to the side and appear on the other, you know, scorpion, ermac, smoke their all basicaly identical. Third, Rain if wanted use an ax, a bow and arrow, shoulder dash, lightning, whatever, it would be OK because nightwolf is lame as hell and rain would do it better. The only thing that bothered me was the water jet thing that is a blue EX acid spit

I'm pretty sure he's got a voice actor. Look at the intro, then watch his mouth. He says Ugh, but the mouth still moves...

I don't see where you got the second one as a fatality.. the stream is just a special move.

exactly!!! it's kinda stupid if they patch things up later on and not make a proper DLC release each time but I'm good with that too. after seeing that mask thing on Rain and since they DID pay voice actors already, it's making me think that after the release of ??? a patch will be downloadable for free (if they are not stupid to charge for it) to give each an alt costume, nekropolis slot and their entry line.

as for the rip offs.. I don't get it. f.e. we have the teleport kind of move for TONS of characters. each has a different effect. how is Rain's a rip off? because he has a teleport? or is the animation the same? ffs, he even hits the opponent with his feet, he comes backwards when he does this to hit them in the face, how is this sektor's uppercut? and how is the animation with noob saibot's thing the same? noob saibot grabs the opponent and hits them with force on the ground, if you notice, Rain is basically grabbing them with another animation, puts the force needed and when the opponent is about to hit the ground he leaves them to do it and disappears as water. idk just if the water stream is like reptile's animation wise too, I don't remember. but ffs the other two and the freaking LIGHTNING are his and look very different than the moves of the other characters. jesus people, if that's your logic, send emails to NRS and ask them to give the teleport kind to only one fighter, then the stun type of move to another character and so on.

But in all seriousness, after seeing the trailer, he looks absolutely beast. I adore the fact that he still has his roundhouse, bubble and lightning from MK3, and his X-ray looks spectacular. I really just wish NRS would've shown DLC characters more love with Alt costumes and voice lines =/ Hell, if I can get him up to the level I play at with Reptile and Sub, he'll probably be my main =)

Absolutely. He looks beastly.

I'm probably gonna put Smoke off to the side for a while and main Rain. I've ****ing waited long enough for him, dammit.
 
I'm diggin' the creativity of the fatalities for the DLC character. First we got Kenshi's Scatterbrained fatality, and now we're getting Rain's "Sorry to Burst Your Bubble" fatality (for lack of a better title lol).

Don't forget Skarlet's "Make it Rain" fatality lol Seems the DLC are getting better fatalities than most of the original cast

yeah last time I checked a color makes you totally gay. well it's cliche but haters gonna hate. and why would being gay be negative? someone actually suggested that for Rain in a topic some months back. I said no to that because this is a fighting game ffs, love stories of any kind are unnecessary. even if he were gay though, I don't get why that would say something bad about him. my best friend from highschool is gay and the moment he told me nothing changed in my heart as how I felt for him. modern societies claim to be advanced and 'accepting' but the truth is, there are always primitive animals still in them
 
Meh, he looks alright. I'm not as excited for him as I was Kenshi but I've brought the season pass so, if I could just find me some enthusiasm...

P.S. It doesn't matter if Rain is gay or not, it's not like he's going to jump out your TV and rape you in his spunk bubble.
 
I like Rain .... well, I only played him in MK Trilogy for Snes, long time ago, and , never again , but, I was aware about him and I like him being a purple ninja .... I was very , very disappointed , while the game being promoted, suspected that NRS was planning to cutting him off from the game, when finally figuring out that he did not make it in final roster, that was a ****ing "kick in the nuts", putting down ......

I like the character, but, I never played good with him, now, seeing this fantastic update on him for MK 2011, I give props/thumb ups to NRS and Ed for pleasing all Rain fans, bringing the dude here , finally, and, keeping his special moves, original, but, updated and improved.

He surely seems to be a hell of good character, gameplay wise speaking, enjoyed every single second of his trailer, Rain was made beautifully done. Well done, well treated, fun to play (seems to be), good appearance design look, NRS gave respect for this character built here in MK 9.

Skarlet is my number one favourite, but, I admit that Rain gameplay looks impressive and top notch, so, I think he seems/looks superior to Skarlet regarding gameplay, and, maybe, superior to Kenshi .... Seems like a S tier character, with very good offensive pressure game, and , lots of tools to juggle starters.
 
Looks real nice. Looks like Rain is keeping all his moves too, which is good. I'm glad to see that Control Orb and Super Roundhouse back and will some nice new looks. His X-Ray and fatalities are also looking nice. I can't wait to download him.

Although, my PSN points are all used up now, sadly. I'll have to get more before he's released.
 
I just noticed, why does he have a keyhole on his chest?
