MK HD Kollection

Re: MK: HD Arcade Kollection IS Real

this game is coming after the big mortal kombat 9 release.
2k11 is the year of mortal kombat with lots more exciting stuff to come ;)

I believe the game is real, and at least was in production if it's not still ongoing. But I'm sorry to say I won't believe any more info unless it's either from a trusted source, or with some even minor evidence to back up any claims. I've made an idiot of myself enough times over this. I just hope we'll get the game one day.

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

An arcade version of MK Trilogy = $$$ ... I say re-release that as an arcade version, spoof of the graphics a bit, fix the bugs in the game and that game will be UMK Trilogy.

Guess what.... they are! It's simply called "Mortal Kombat" and will be released for Playstation 3 and XBOX360 on April 19th! :-D

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

lol, you are obsessed bro. this game is not coming out before mk9. if it does i'll eat my hat. game may be a complete hoax.

who said anything about it arriving prior to MK 9...being so close to release ?....not like im out money for pre-ordering...i'll get an email stating its not in and a refund will be issued as usual...im not counting on it releasing on friday april 1st..nor am i even excited....

however..this game is not a hoax...there is too much info out there...retailers just dont decide to throw random items up for sale without first being told about the product...the sku# still doesnt make sense...its linked to MK HD and a harry potter DS game....both through WB..oddly though...these new listing keep popping up even after the last release date brought nothing....my thought is that WB is keeping people excited while its being prepared, a release date is given..we find it, it falls through...and then oddly another one is found almost immediately...its almost as if WB is playing with us...keeping us waiting, while watching...no doubt this thread has been seen by them...they know, that we know..and im just letting them know that i know whats up...we will continue this cat and mouse adventure until the game is either revealed or until i hear actual confirmation of its death

Re: MK: HD Arcade Kollection IS Real

From a friend of mine working at Netherrealm, who obviously is gonna stay nameless, I've got the scoop on this one. The game does indeed exist, but it may not see the light of day. Yes, it was being made, some of the actors even shot some moves, but the resources weren't there for the team to do both games at once. They tried outsourcing the game to another developer, but it was to no avail. Then the boss from Warner Bros decided to get involved and said something to the effect of putting out 2 products too soon would "confuse" the consumer into which to buy. Sooo, he tells me the game is pretty much on indefinate hold, which in the world of video games, could very well mean canceled. Or, if MK9 performs very strongly, they could pick it back up for a release late 2011, or more likely 2012. The team most likely will see some sort of break post-release before finishing DLC, which is pretty common knowledge to be coming, and is already being prepared. Most likely they will not hault the post-release content for the sake of a compilation of nearly 20 year old games. Long story short, do not hold your breath on this release for anytime soon. I know it's my first post here, which could lead to some doubters, but I wouldn't go through all the trouble of creating an account just to make up stories to a select few on the internet. Just trying to help the community of a game I grew up with and love.

just take everything with a grain of salt until an official announcement has been made...no sense in making yourself look like an idiot over a game

on hold until further notice....no issh...since it hasnt came out....but its not dead...it wouldnt make sense for WB not to buy the franchise and not cash in on every way possible off the name...MK 9 will have great sells numbers...and even if they didnt WB would want to cash in as much as possible...especially on nostalgia...after all the first three games are really what made the franchise...and in these days of everything retro and and rehash to sleep on MK1-MK3 would just be terrible...fans want that nostalgia brought to them on a fresh platform to enjoy for years....or its quite possible the suits are flippin idiots and dont think it makes good business sense to repeat the past....

Re: MK: HD Arcade Kollection IS Real

Im right with you on the point that they would have to be total fools to buy the franchise and not cash in on the old games. I'm 30 years old. In my humble opinion I've been hungry for the old games every since the 3d versions came out. I really don't see why they wouldn't redo the first three or just maybe make an arcade perfect port of them for ps3 and xbox. There's enough of us that grew up on mortal kombat to make it worth financially. Im just gonna keep hoppin it's true and play my mame versions although I'd much rather play them on my ps3!

Re: MK: HD Arcade Kollection IS Real

It is very understandable for WB to wait to see how the there latest installment of the franchise will do. I mean they invested a lot of time and money in the game. It only makes sense for them to see how it does before they bring out any other game Mk related. I think people need to realize these that companies actually are invested on how there game will sell. If one of there games don't sell as expected it can leave these companies in bad financial situations. I'm sure it will be released because I already know that the next Mk is going to be a financial success for WB. But I am not expected till late 2012. Thanks for signing on to TRMK to give us this info. Much appreciated.

trust me..WB didnt buy the franchise so they could make a M rated game...they will do anything and everything to revive this franchise....the fact that they bought in an almost dead state tells me they know at one point it was a cash cow...they just have to recreate the magic...i am one of those people who fell in love with the series when i was a kid and MK 1 was at the corner liquor store...i spent many many many many hours playing that game there...and then one day went into a local pizza hut and MK2 just came out...i was blown away...it was faster and just more extreme....my obsession was deep at this point...mk 2 consumed me....

not getting too deep...moving on...the move to 3D hurt the series..i know why they did it but it just doesnt seem right....the best thing for me in the last few games have been the konquest mode and chess...the fighting has been stale...MK VS DC could have been a great game if it wasnt so memorable..the game play was good, had some great elements...i loved free fall kombat and going through walls...even the up close fights were fun with friends...story mode was lame..and then the toned down blood and gore...BS this is MK...i want over the top violence and screw midway and boon for selling out so hard on their brand....it might have been a thought but once DC started demanding or saying no to things i would have shut it down....if i was boon or whoever dealing with DC on the midway side...i would have been like "sorry this is an MK game where its extreme violence and its possible for batman to get ripped in half, if you cant fathom the thought then this project is scrap"...but its all about money...people bought it were cool with it and then were disgusted by it...

wow...sorry..been drinking...got off topic...anyways...WB knows theres money to be made in the franchise and its not with a new game or web series...its all in the old school...they know we exist and that we will buy it...nostalgia/rehashes are at all time high....im more surprised that WB hasnt released arcade proper ports on XBL or PSN yet...im dying for a proper MK 1 AND MK 2 release....backbone did ok but left out a few elements that made them lacking....MAME is ok...but i want them on my PS3 and as collection..my PC is my PC and i rarely run games on it anymore.....anyways...i do believe depending on MK9...there will be plenty of MK to come...and im sure MK9 will do very well...MK HD will come...its inevitable and if it doesnt..than maybe the people that call shots are morons

Re: MK: HD Arcade Kollection IS Real

Whos gonna spend money on that when we have MK 2011 in our hands?

really?...if MK HD came out on 4-20 OR EVEN THE SAME DAY AS MK 9 they got my money on that....MK 9 looks awesome, but for me it will never beat the originals

no doubt...but understand WB has been around forever and for them to buy the MK franchise they will put it to use regardless of how it sells...win or lose...they know its a business in the end and they've seen what it has produced over the years...im sure they have seen the numbers dwindle also since deadly alliance...they know

Are you retarded? The new game plays great and all, but it's a LOT different than the old 2D games, and for a lot of us it's inferior.

the new game is good...alot better than previous installments...and for me it doesnt do the originals justice when thats what MK 9 is all about ...i wouldnt call MK 9 an inferior product just different from what we fell in love with...MK was great because it was almost human...digitized actors, not drawings not 3d animations...and then adding the fatality element ...it was real people killing each other...it was at the time the most life like game in existence...now..MK is just another fighter with a fatality element and thats where it lacks for me

That's a lot of dots in that reply...:vroam:

The only other person I've ever seen use dots like that In their posts is TJHooker, who was banned. Might be the same guy.

@Tony Stark While I can't say I trust you, what you say is believable. If it isn't true, I could still imagine a similar scenario. But I do think we'll get our MKHD eventually, even if it's a while away.
