MK HD Kollection

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

no, not THIS project.

I understand that this particular project has bitten the dust. But the concept of a high definition remake of the original trilogy.... do you think WB would even consider it in the future or are you saying the entire idea will never happen?

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

The **** are you being so vague for, Tim? :|

And I would boycott an HD version of Trilogy. Broken POS.

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

I called it from the get go...

people were going crazy over a rumor that NR was re-releasing mk1-umk3 in HD. 3 separate games into High Definition, first off that sounds far-fetched to begin with. Then it turned into them re-creating, as in re-filming all 3 separate MKs in HD and then released as 3 separate games on one disc/DL, but with their unique mechanics. That all sounded completely ridiculous, if they were to release MK HD Kollection. It would have been released 1 of 2 ways, 3 separate games onto one disc, just with sharpened HD graphics or completely re-film the game with all the characters from MK1-MK3, in HD.

I think the whole rumor was just word that got out over the iPhone version and then somebody turned it into this big thing. They already released MK2 (ps3) and UMK3 (360) so I don't see a reason why they would re-release other versions a couple years later. It really doesn't matter tbh, if people are eager to play the game then DL mame.

On the other hand, it would be really nice if they did re-release all those games and fixed glitches in the game and released a near perfect port of the game onto ps3 or 360. I'd love for them to fix a lot of the glitches players take advantage of in the game, but I don't see it happening.

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

I'm sorry if I'm missing something, but why does everyone think this project it dead. Nothing has changed for a while and some retailers like buy.com are still taking preorders:

I though we all believed that it would be extremely irresponsible for WB to allow retailers to take preorders for a game that no longer exist.

As for Sans Power's theory of the reshoots of actors that TRMK reported on last year being for the IPhone version, this cannot possibly be true because of the records we saw of WB telling stores that MKHD will be released in November 2010.

This game does or at least did exist. It is most likely still in development because WB has not informed retailers that the game is canceled. I think the MKHD was indented to come out with the recent demo, however for whatever reason the game got delayed. The next logical time period for MKHD to be released is as a 20th anniversary promotion.

Sorry about the rant, please tell me what you think.

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

I would give my left nut for this Game on 360.

:(

stupid complaint, but I miss seeing the UMK3 artbox after playing it on 360. :(

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

Hope this Kollection sees the light of day. Would pay $100 for it to relive my childhood days in the Arcade only now in HD!

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

dont think they've ever said what day, the first Revision of MK1 came out in the arcades. but 2012 is 20 years after 1992.

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

According to Wikipedia (I know it's not know to be a reliable source, but it might be reliable on events that occurred almost 20 years ago) the first MK was released on a Y-Unit in August 1992, however the development team stated that it took them 10 months to make MK1, meaning that they would have started development around October 1991. Depending if WB wants to market this game as the 20th anniversary of the first game or the 20th anniversary of the start of Mortal Kombat's history, they can release this game either in October 2011 or August 2012. That is if this exists.

By the way Mr. Bronald; Judging from his last post, Mr. Static does not seem very mad.

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

i have my doubts 4 this :/ oh well we can always expect that they may have it on XBL or PSN

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

this wont be coming out anytime soon..4/1 is april fools.....

That doesn't mean it can't be a date release for a video game? I mean video games come out on Christmas, Halloween, Valentines, Martin Luther Kings day, etc..
