Man of Steel (WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD)

Re: Man of Steel

I like that tune. it's realy telling of what we can expect from the tone of this movie. I don't know what it is about Nolan but every super hero movie this man has his hands in turns out great. Which is why I'm looking forward to this as much as I am.

Re: Man of Steel

Another version of the same trailer with a different narration by Jor-El (Russel Crowe), his real father in place of Jonathan Kent, his adoptive father.

Re: Man of Steel

It is really cool when he breaks the sound barrier. I liked this version as well.

I thought Russel Crowe's narration was better and was more fitting.
Made the trailer more effective to me.

Re: Man of Steel

I like both trailers but I'm leaning more towards Jonathan Kent's version which is narrated by Kevin Costner btw.

In Pa Kent's version eventhough he would have taught Clark good morals and values he ultimately leaves it to Clark to choose who he wants to be but keeping in mind that he would change he world. While making choices it is always easier to defect, be irresponsible and act selfishly but in the end we know Clark chose otherwise making a lot of sacrifices, which in turn goes to show that it was not his powers that made Clark Superman, but in fact his upbringing with the values taught to him and his love for his parents and humanity. I really hope they focus on this and his journey to find himself and his purpose, with Christopher Nolan on board I'm more positive.

In Jor-El's version, its feels more like the parting words to his son, like a re assurance and a reminder of his responsibilities that comes with his powers, and even though his real parents won't be with him, he is destined for greatness and to lead the people of Earth. Both these versions are quite good, it actually led me to become much more interested in Superman than I have ever have been.

i saw the word "nolan" on the screen so now i know it most likely will be good.

That and Zack Snyder has always had an cool look to his movies as well. Its a really interesting team up and although I always HATED superman before, I'm actually looking forward to this one. I'll always welcome a new superhero franchise with substance to it over just action.

Re: Man of Steel

I think being realistic a bit is alright, not in terms of his powers or anything but more on how he becomes a hero and that's especially why I love this trailer because it seems to be focusing on that. It's there in every child to imagine himself a hero and it was pretty cool to see Clark Kent was one such child, pretty much like everyone. Also I think his need to become a hero would stem from the love and affection of his foster parents.
I think the word you're looking for is relatable

Also thought of sharing this awesome track composed by Hans Zimmer for the comic con trailer.

And yea, I agree they got to tone his bump down. Hopefully they will address it like they did with Bane's voice.
Hans Zimmer

The man is truly gifted in every area.
loooooooooool

Re: Man of Steel

I am definitely looking forward to this remake. Although the new costume look is kinda questionable but hopefully the story is very gracious. Plus I hope Lex Luthor will get involve in this one somehow, as he IS Superman's nemesis.

They've done Lex Luthor before and it was so boring. Superman needs someone he can actually fight now. I think the suit is definitely a step up from before although after seeing his injustice costume, I really wish it looked armored like that.

Re: Man of Steel

Nolan is overrated, and Superman sucks the big one. Recipe for fail evident, but people will lap it up anyways. I couldn't be less excited for this movie, and the costume ruined any chance of me watching it.

Well I agree the costume looks awful and the actor doesn't say Superman or even Clark to me. But I think Nolan has proven his worth with Batman, well all except Banes redub that made him sound like patrick stewart after sucking a helium balloon.

I would like to know why you think he's overrated.

Re: Man of Steel

Check out this poster.

I think the story is clearly wanting to tell us that Superman is finding his place with the world as he's trying to be accepted by others for what he is. (Sorry but can't find the right words to say about this one.)

Re: Man of Steel

Nolan is just producing this, although we may see his influence at times, I doubt it would be anything major, so we can't really judge based on his involvement.

Re: Man of Steel

I can't even imagine how the cheesiest, most non-photogenic superhero costume ever made could be "ruined". The colors are darker, so... it's crap? I know people will always find something to complain about, but I don't get that one at all. Anything closer to the original costume would likely look even crappier.

That poster has me really intrigued, though. It would be an interesting perspective to have Superman treated as a criminal rather than being immediately accepted and lauded as a savior. It's a bit Batman-esque, but that could very well be what intrigues me about it.

I haven't been into Superman since I was a kid with the 'S' emblazoned on my underwear, but if this turns out to be decent, I'll have to check it out.
