Man of Steel (WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD)

Re: Man of Steel

I am really psyched to see this now. It looks like the perfect blend of the dark knight's tone and story telling with Zack Snyders action. The special effects looked amazing in that trailer. I really didn't like super man before but this looks awesome.

Re: Man of Steel

I would like to know why you think he's overrated.
I'm not Freyith, but a lot of the people who praise Nolan are bandwagon fans who have really only seen Inception and the Batman trilogy; they haven't even seen any of his other stuff like Memento, The Prestige or Insomnia yet they make him out to be second coming of filmmaking

Re: Man of Steel

This movie looks really ambitious, definitely can't wait to see what they'll do with it.

just saw man of steel my thoughts some spoilers ahead

i was never a big superman fan but holy shit i loved every second of this movie

no movie has ever had me tear up like this film and man oh man i think this is the third best comic film to date with the avengers and the dark knight

krypon was outstanding. you get to see there culture and all wich was amazing

henry cavil is perfect as superman

also faora was amazing! the russel crow and kevin spacey scenes really touched me ( wich teared me up)

amy adams was awesome as well and it was nice to see her be a kick ass charachter instead of a damsal in disress

i also really loved how they made clark more of a myth/urban legend i though that was a really nice touch

im seeing it again next saturday

bring on the sequel.

Re: just saw man of steel my thoughts some spoilers ahead

I actually thought the opposite. I felt the movie was ultimately empty, as it was underdeveloped in terms of character and plot details. After watching it, I had no idea what type of person Clark, or Lois was, or any character for that matter. The transitions between scenes seemed jarring, and the use of flash backs seemed thrown in haphazardly. Many events such as Johnathan's death and Superman in the church seemed completely meaningless and out of place, because, as I've said there was no time spent on development of these things. How did Johnathan's death effect Clark and Martha? How effective is religion in Clark's life? Also, the relationship between Clark and Lois seemed rushed and not at all realistic. They spent a total of probably 30 minutes with each other, but are already ready to risk their lives for one another? The whole thing seemed a bit rushed actually. I think a big problem was that they were trying to fit so much into a movie, which I was worried about after learning that this would be both the first movie, and the one to feature Zod, meaning it was going to attempt to tackle the internal struggle within Clark between staying true to his people or embracing his human upbringing...which I think they did poorly with. The fight scenes were awesome though, I liked Zod's character and the whole thing was "fun," but as a film, and as a story, I thought it was awful.

not a big superman fan but i absolutley loved every second of this film. yea it may have started slow but i just loved the story and i admit i did have some tears crawling down during both the jor-el and john kent scenes with kal-el

i also loved the whole thing how he would be this drifter and go from job to job save people than basicly erase his history so in a way it was like making him into a myth or urban legend that must be debunked.

as for zod.... wow wow i loved him.

amy adams really blew me away because its nice to see lois in a action role and not the same old help save me superman wich has been done to death.

i know this may be a tiny thing but i loved how when superman flys they show him breaking the sound barrier ( i thought that was a neat touch)

the score was great and every time i hear that trailer song teased in the film during certain scenes im like wow that really does hit

i give it a 9.5

This is coming from someone who has NEVER liked Superman.

The movie was AWESOME. I don't know how anyone could have been disappointed with it...it was action almost straight through. I prefer that than a slow moving story...the only thing that bugged me was how some of the flashbacks were randomly thrown in....Russell Crowe was the main reason I wanted to see the movie and he did not disappoint <3

My only other flaw with the film was Russell being fully clothed the entire time lololololol

Don't have to ask me twice to drop my pants, baby.

On a serious note, though, WHY DID THEY HAVE TO SHOW BABY DICK, IT FELT WRONG, SO WRONG

and why were the Krypton space ships giant flying dildos?

This movie did kick ass though, loved it's tone. They got it down right. Hoping future DC movies follow this style.

I haven't watched this movie yet but in "Man with the Iron Fists", Russell Crowe has gained lots of pounds.

Indeed, that was quite wrong. What irks me more is the fact that they slapped some CGI edit on it which makes it look bigger than it should be for a baby.

Russell Crowe was awesome as Jor-El, his scenes were one of my favorites in the movie. As for my general thoughts, I guess Jeremy Jahns summarizes it well.

I thought the movie was great and definitely worth seeing.
General Zod was great because you wanted to hate him for being such a destructive villain.
To be honest though, I thought Faora was an even better villain than than Zod.

yea faora was bad ass. also everyone in the theatre clapped when superman made the choice of snapping zods neck to save the family.

i am curious to see how man of steel 2 will be because who would be the villain? i know alot of people want lex but hes been so over done its kind of boring. i say get ron perlman as lobo
