Killer Instinct announced for XBOX ONE!!!!!

Are you going to try hard at it or just buy it for playing casually? If you're going to try hard, I think it's worth it. Online felt like offline and there's well know top players who'll level you up.

If you're just picking it up to play casually, I wouldn't.

Truthfully this one of the fighting games i wanna get serious at (MKX obviously being the other) so maybe i will get it after the PS4

I would've liked your post multiple times if I could. Some $60 games have three+ times more content.

With NetherRealm setting the standard of what you get in a $60 fighting game, it makes me sad to be a gamer knowing people are still supporting this garbage KI release.
That's one reason why Nintendo KI is better than Microsoft KI.

If people are judging the value of a game on sheer amount of content, they should quit playing fighting games. Nevertheless, I knew the free-to-play business model was bad idea, especially for for those who want to experience every bit of the game.... but people gotta have their Killer Instinct.

still on the fence with this it's the only xb1 game i'm interested in but is it worth shoveling out $480 just for one game?

Short answer: No

Long answer: Noooo0o0o0o0oo0o0o

haha

but KI is not worth buying a console for. The only console seller that the XB1 will have, in my opinion, is Halo: The Master Chief Collection. I bought an XB1 recently. Destiny and KI are what I'm playing currently. but I wouldn't have gotten the console just for those games.

It's $80 if you want every character and all DLC, that's a good price. You can still get the $20 versions of the game.

It doesn't make sense from a business perspective. Tekken 7 and mk10 are both going to have twice the content of ki at 60 dallors. No one is going to pay 80 dallors to play a year old (unfinshed )fighting game. The ulta edition better get a price reduction by the time mk10 drops.

The amount of content doesn't alone doesn't determine the value of the game. Fighting games do not require a huge amount of assets in the grand scheme of things, yet they can retail for the same price as an rpg.

Would you rather have 24 characters for $60, or would you rather have 60 for the same price?

In a vaccuum, more characters for the cost sounds more appealing. However, the scale of the game doesn't take into account the experience that players can get out of it. I enjoy Arc System Works fighting games just as much, if not more than their contemporaries. Their games have a smaller roster size, but the characters are very diverse and have some of the more creatively designed play-styles.

Yes it does. Strider(remake) is an incredibly fun game but I wouldn't pay $60 dollars for it.

There's a reason fighting games are considered a niche market. A lot of people get turned off simply because they feel like they aren't getting their money's worth. At least NRS is trying to change that by providing a complete gaming experience for both SP and MP gamers.

Is it just me or is the combo breaker system really frustrating sometimes? I have matches where people break like 90% of my combos. I realized that I was doing heavies often, so then I started doing random autos. Still no luck. I always seemed to get locked out almost all of the time. Even after knowing what their auto looks like and pressing the right buttons, I still get locked out. >_< Should I just try to break less often? I'm not sure how much that would hurt me if I didn't break at all.

Start learning how to counter break! Also start timing manuals to lock them out and just keep mixing up your game.

I see a lot of big mistakes happen when you try to break as soon as your opponent starts a combo.

The key to understanding breakers is rhythm. Either yours or the opponent, once you understand how to when or not to time on your breakers, the battle outcome will become crystal clear. Also conditioning. The biggest thing is knowing which strength of attack will your opponent or yourself will be breaking (either combo or counter) just by memorizing the animation of attack (although Glacius at a distance comboing can be tough at times) almost everytime. Like the above post said, keep mixing up your game AND make them commit mistakes.

^^^ Exactly, there is plenty of opportunity to let your opponent make the mistakes. Don't need to be crazy about super long cobos, get your damage in and cash out quickly with a heavy ender if need be.

I am loving TJ Combo! Have not played in a few weeks due to moving to Florida but man he isfun and I am loving the changes in Season 2, can not wait until it drops on October 15th!

Anyone think the 'mummy' at the end of Maya's trailer could be Cinder? I am suggesting that as cinder is engulfed in flame due to the arc of the covenent or something similar in fashion. Though it is a stretch (far stretch) from the original Cinder origins, but since this is a reboot, it is not out of question.

There is no such thing as a complete gaming experience, only different games for difference audiences. Just because a lot of people play Call of Duty doesn't mean it's should be the golden standard of what video games should be. When it came to MK9, I only cared really cared for the base game; I wasn't that impressed with story mode and challenge tower wasn't worth it.
