Killer Instinct announced for XBOX ONE!!!!!

My thoughts

1. I am HYPED AS ! KI IS BACK BABY!
2. About the F2P thing. I am going to hold off getting upset until the prices are revealed. If the new characters to buy all adds up to $60, then I wont complain that much
3. Also remember Jago will be free but most FTP games have rotating free characters each week. So if they do this, you can easily try out the characters
4. This allows for the company to add more characters and other things like new costumes where you can pick and choose what you want
5. The gameplay looks great to me, Sure Double Helix has released crap before (I loved Silent Hill Homecoming) but this game actually looks good

The game itself looks amazing, and according to people who have played it, it feels amazing too.

It's pretty much just shit via association. If this was coming out on PS4, PS3 or 360, then I'd be excited.

free to play jago (3rd main) have to buy orchid (1st main), thunder (2nd Main), spinal, cinder and galcius.

at 1.99 I wouldn't care at 5.00 they can kiss it!

and I wont get too salty about FTP KI until more details are released. Hell they could put in a "unlock everything" bundle in the game for $60-$70 that gets you the full game for all we know

KI is NOT free to play....

During the GameSpot E3 2013 stage event a few of the game developers from Double Helix Games were on stage to discuss their newly announced title Killer Instinct.

In particular a few rather important notes were made, the first thing mentioned was that there was a small misconception with the game being free-to-play. While the game is a launch title for the Xbox One, fans will be able to purchase the full game on it's release. There will also be a demo which comes with Jago as playable character where you can play all of the game's modes including online mutliplayer.

If you decided after playing the demo that you liked the game, you can selectively purchase packages which feature various characters.

Yesterday, during the announcement trailer Double Helix also showed off the character Glacius. It was confirmed that he would be fully playable during EVO 2013.

The last thing that was talked about was the game's 40 training lessons to try and teach players how to learn the game.

At 17:16 gameplay of KI starts. They discuss details about KI and it will be playable at Evo along with Glacious being playable. There are options to buy the full game outright like any other traditional game or you can purchase a select few characters if you so desire.

Either way the concept of having a fighting game exclusive to Xbox One seems absurd, considering the online aspect of the console etc.

Just have to see what happens in coming months, I will definitely not be an early adopter of Xbone for 2 games.

Yea just read the clarification over at TYM:

Double Helix shared a number of details about the game, including the fact that Glacius will be fully playable at EVO at Double Helix's booth -- along with a brand new character which will be announced from the venue. Double Helix is looking suggestions from fans for gameplay, characters, etc. and expressed a willingness to take fans' input into account to make KI the best game it can possibly be.

Also, DHG cleared up the misconception that the game is free to play; the version of the game that launches with Jago only will be considered a demo; but the game will also have a full digital release with all content. Purchasers will be able to buy either the full retail version, or the demo which will allow you to test the game, and then buy additional characters individually as you desire.

DHG also described the training mode, which is said to have around 40 different lessons in order to help people learn the mechanics of the game. In addition, they shared that the final game will have a few contrasting character archetypes, including grapplers and characters with strong zoning tools.

Believe it or not, that makes me feel a bit better.

been watching gameplay of it and i have 2 say that is what everyone should be doing instead of watching the trailers it looks fast as hell and seems pretty advanced already

there was a live feed earlier on it and it the devs stated the demo will just have jago but you have to pay for the rest of the roster

Ok, this makes sense.

They need to bring this game to PS4.....

I just watched that impression video and I hope do they make arcade machines out of it and not just put it in "select arcades" which are very few but other places that still have arcade machines in the US like movie theater lobbies. Since I'm not getting an Xbone that'll be the only way I'll probably get to play it barring a PC release which I have a strong feeling will never happen.... and not in the same way MK for PC was never going to happen... I mean for real never going to happen. :P

Since I'll be getting an Xbox One, I'll probably get this game.

Never got into Killer Instinct, but I'd like to give it a shot.

Well from what I'am seeing and reading its only Killer Instinct by name and appearance, that might not be a bad thing mind you, I suppose we will have to see.
