Is nobody playing this online? Or are the servers just rubbish?

I've had MK around a month now and have been playing online since then. When searching for an online match, either player or ranked, sometimes it can search for minutes and not find any game. I might exit the search start it again and keep doing this for 10 or 15 minutes before getting another game. Other times I get games far easier of course.

So my question is are the servers just bad or at these times is nobody just searching for a game?

Well idk then... alot of people play, when i search for a match i get it in 15-30 secs
 
where do you live OP?

I think I remember reading somewhere in ranked matches it is a little picky when it comes to picking opponents. Like it prioritizes people who live close to me to reduce lag. Then expands search after a min or two of waiting.

So if you live in like Utah... or some crazy place you might have a tough time.

And I believe alot of people experience what you experience. There is also time of day.

Sometimes I get lucky and get a couple in quick succession. All too often though I don't. Like, for example, earlier this evening I tried for 10 - 15 mins and could only get 1 player match. Then I gave up searching.

I'm in Ireland if that matters.
 
Yeah, according to where you are, it affects matching up player BIG TIME. I get in no problem with like 10-30 seconds with KOTH and ranked matches early in the day and late at night, but for some reason, in the afternoon is when I can't connect to ANYTHING.

Both, most people by now have traded the game in since it doesn't work. Next week MK9 Online will be a true ghost town when the kiddies go back to school too.
 
yehhhhhhh this is a big problem for me being from australia.....
i wait a LONG TIME for a match or 2....
its just ridiculous, unacceptable.

isn't it banned there? that might explain alot LOL (shoulda been something to expect)

what copy did you import EU or USA?


I've experienced long wait times with rank, and really short back to back ones.

LOL, yeh.. its banned.. which makes it hard haha.. i expected it. .but had hoped for more.. only about 10 aussie's online at one time.. on a good day.. and i've played them all a 1000 times..
and i can only connect to aussie's (and some americans with a REALLY good connection..

i have a hongkong copy, region free..

the ban its getting lifted here, soon..... soon..... but from what i've been reading in aussie game mags is that it would be more cost effective to make a revised mk9 2.0 release for aus with DLC,patchs etc instead of resubmitting the game for classification under the (to be announced)new laws.. as it is very expensive supposedly.
 
People are still playing the game online many many people. There are rooms where people mostly at. People hardly go to Ranked match option or player match option since it easier to just go to a room and challenge someone.

That's not true, I always use player match if the server can't find on 1on1 you can try 2on2 you'll play quickly like that. (ER)
 
It depends on where you live and also what time you play. If I play at 5pm, I have no problem finding a match. If I play at 5am, I have a problem finding a match usually. The reason why I don't find a match early in the morning is because people in my area are sleeping, and if I do get a match it's usually laggy because it matches me up with someone across the world because of time zones and such.
 
I play online all the time, and while the servers aren't excellent, I have never had a truly horrible or laggy game.
De-syncs happen to me every now and then, but a KOTH or Ranked Match plays like buttah :cool:
 
Finding a match isn't the issue. It's keeping the damned thing before a desync. Plenty of people still play, but a bulk of the population has become jaded and gave up. You can hop in even on a busy night and see how few people are in the rooms. Go to a player match and keep rejecting. You're bound to see the same names pop up. I think it's just a dice roll.
