I was at gamestop today and I overheard on one of there commercials saying something about Skarlet and Kenshi and two unannounced characters. So there is one more unannounced character that we don't know about. That's good news to my ears. I'm wondering who the two unannounced characters will be.

Did they mention Rain? Because he was announced along with Kenshi and Skarlet.
 
Yes and no. If less DLC characters means MK10 will be released sooner, then by all means stop with DLC. If it doesn't matter then keep dropping characters
 
damn. Thats probably what it is. How could I forget about Rain. LoL. No they did not mention Rain so it's a old commercial.
 
Yes, I would like to see them make another batch of DLC characters. But there is no guarantee that I would buy them. Just lucky for both sides that I find Skarlet interesting, also that Kenshi and Rain are cool in my book so they are sure buys.

Besides the "balancing issues" and online servers that people are demanding to be fixed, Mortal Kombat is a fun game as a stand-alone. So I honestly see them supporting this title for a long time before even getting serious about creating the next game.

Geez, guys, leave something for future games. We don't need everything right now.

I've never been a fan of 3D MK games, I wouldn't mind playing with characters from that era in 2D. Hopefully, most of them will get new designs as well, because they used to look rather generic.

Don't be silly, Jade. The only important thing right now is MK9. Stop worrying about sequels. They should cram as many characters in as possible.

yes maybe 4 more, i didnt like post trilogy games but tanya looks interesting, am i the only that likes her design in khans arena?. the DLC character i want the most is cyborg smoke but im also interested in frost,tanya and tremor.
 
@armon24 i agree with you almost completely. we need more stuff than just characters and costumes for DLC. but i still wouldnt mind having a few more DLC characters. i just dont want them to repeat this a bunch of times until we got like 20 DLC characters. we dont need armageddon again. they need to save some characters for the next game.
 
I don't see why adding a character as DLC in this game would have any impact on them being (or not being) in MK10. Now if say, Shinnok is slated to be the boss in MK10 for example, then yeah you wouldn't want him as DLC now. Other than that I don't see any reason to limit DLC for the current game. Having said that, this doesn't mean MK9 needs to be turned into one of those wacky homebrewed MUGEN games with 700 characters on the select screen. I remember there was a minor uproar over the original roster for MK9 only being 24 + 2 unlockables. As it turned out, that ended up being a good amount to start with as I feel having an Armageddon-like roster would have watered down the game. It gives you the ability to really spend time getting to know the ins and outs of a character without feeling you have to have a working knowledge of 64 others.

Personally, I'd like it if after the Mystery Guy (or Girl) is announced they focus on non-character DLC. I was really surprised Friendship moves weren't included, so I wouldn't mind seeing those (I expect that's going to be a MK10 feature instead). Extra Fatalities would be nice, Shang's Soul Steal not being included was a head scratcher in a game that was all about getting back to roots. Not sure what other "classic" ones you could add though, unless they go back to their old standby of making glitches legit and give Cage a Fatality that knocks off 3 heads.
 
There's still plenty of kharacters that deserve to be in this game and I want to see them put in the things they didnt have time to finish like Brutalities and Survivor modes and throw in Friendships and some other goodies and this game would be ridiculously fun
