Damn, it feels good to be a gamer.

What are the crowning achievements of your gaming career/ gaming knowledge?

Beating Ruby/Emerald Weapons in FF7, and all level 99, all 255 stats, and beating Omega Weapon in FF8. I did both of these when the games came out (between ages 9-12) so i couldn't look up easy ways to do it on the internet or any of that crap. I was so stoked when I finished them.

Also, 100%-ing Gran Turismo 2.

Creating multiple level 99 characters in Diablo 2 (and Lord of Destruction) in one day, collecting every unique piece of gear in the game (in multiples). Beating the game in Singleplayer, Hell Difficulty, /players8 setting, untwinked.

I'd also like to think I've made Final Fantasy Tactics my *****. I've beaten that game too many times to remember (at least 50).

None of these are very outstanding, but they are MY crowning achievements haha. I'll update if I think of any more.

Not the great thing but a friend and I, completed in one night (without sleep) the Chronicles of the Sword of Soul Calibur III without saving (due the well known bug of the memory card). Maybe is not the hardest thing ever, but the tiredness was our worst enemy that time.

My greatest achievement has been beating Shao Kahn on UMK3 with a double flawless victory, beating the ladder on every MK game on MAX difficulty and completely beating super smash bros brawl. And beating MW2 and Black ops campaign on veteran.

I can name every single MK character, I can name every kind of Necromorph on dead space...and that's about it.

Got some MOAR!!!

Beating the entire elite four in Red with just a Weezing.
Getting all of the KONG letters and puzzle pieces in DCKR.
Getting 50% completion in Just Cause 2 (Its a HUGE game)
Beating the final level of Scarface.
Getting Black Yoshi in Yoshi's Story, and not having him die yet :)

passing all 150 levels in Rampage World Tour in one sitting

any of you who played that game, would know how repetitive it is. And the game constantly pushes the n64 save pack as there is no way to save without it (which I didnt have)

When i beat my daddy in mk :)
Nameing every mk charecter
back story on every mk 9 charecter (not freddy or kratos just reall mk ppl)

When I beat MKII for the first time
Beating MK Trilogy
Completing the whole Ratchet and Clank series
Fallout 3 Speed Runs
Getting my first Platinum Trophy (for Xbox people that don't know what this is, It's like getting all the achievements in the game.. it would give you an achievement for getting them all)
Kicking my dad's ass in MK9..
God, that was the best one.
When you can beat your parent at a game they have played since before you were born, you earn the title "King Badass"

I loved when I would kick my dad's ass in MKvsDC.
He was a shameless spammer son.
I would **** him up in the name of justice.
He even laid a few money bets down.
Got em all :slug:

And the first time I ever beat MKII was on the Midway Collection for the PSP.
I shit you not, 2 ****ing hours on Kintaro.

My dad is also a shameless spammer
Raiden's Superman over and over in a corner
Or Cyrax's Net over and over followed by an uppercut.
Felt so good to finally KICK DAT ASS with Noob Saibot in Armageddon :)
He just laughed and said "ok b*tch, let's do it again"
Then I received the biggest button mashing beat down of my life :(
Since then, I can kill him in MK no prob..
But I still throw a few games to let the Old man (not really, he's only 37 ) have his pride

Beating RE1 on hard w/o getting hit. (I killed yawn with a knife)

I killed krauser in RE4 on hard with only a knife, no guns.

I beat Snake eater on european extreme.

Drew in a large hype crowd when playing SSBM in tournament.

Beat Deadspace on Hardest difficulty

Working on bayonetta highest difficulty (My god aggrivating)

Solo'ing Zipna on RDM in FFXI
images

^^notice they are using 9 guys max level lol. I did it BY MYSELF BOHA

Being the leader of a Linkshell in FFXI for 3 years. And making good long term friends in the process. Although I spent too much time playing this game lol (Not as bad as those WoW people you hear, No where near.) I wouldn't change it. The game helped me realize just how selfish people are in general. and I became a better judge of character because of it.

Taking a match off the best U.S.East player of Brood war (at the time)

Losing to a 14 year old girl in Korea in a Starcraft tournament (She was awesome :D)

Landing multiple falcon punches in a tourney match. Granted he was garbage but still lol. Those are hard to land.

I'm from the old school crowd of gamers. I stopped playing games about 7 years ago, and then I picked up a copy of Dawn of War for fun, and it made me pick up the joypad/mouse again.

It's hard to believe, but I think the older you get can have a negative impact on your game playing ability. Back in the day I considered myself very good at MK 2. I knew how to play virtually every character inside out, I knew all fatalities, babalities, etc, knew all of Shang T'Sungs morphs and his secret fatalities (Kintaro fatality), stage fatalities.... and this is back in the day when there was no internet, and everything you learned, you got from the arcade or playing the console. Pretty sure I wouldn't be able to recollect half that stuff now, and my reactions are probably slower, but im a bit of a "veteran" at fighters in particular, so I guess that compensates a bit.

Talking of Dawn of War, aaaaages ago I used to be in a clan. Unfortunately DOW community was beginning to shrink, but my clan went up against, at the time, one of the best clans in DOW, in a 4 vs 4. We ended up beating them...I predicted that they would triple Deep Strike on one base, which they did. I suggested we set up a "dummy base" (I had my team mate build his REAL base next to mine) while each of us attacked one base each, sacrificing the dummy base which was grossly undermanned. We beat them, which was kinda cool.

buying a console with just my money... sad i know

another thing may be beating metal gear solid 4 times (on all the dificulties) and it wasnt even my console xD

currently trying to beat devil may cry 3

pretty much doing anything as Captain Falcon is satisfying. Like everything you do as that guy just feels epic and as if you are kicking even more ass than you should. From the spikes, to the knee attack. My favorite character, next to Ness.

One of my favorites is when I was like 10 me, my cousin, and little brother beat rampage on the 64. It took us all day and night to go through every single level, but we did it. While that is neat and all, best part was my grandma rooting us on and helping us stay awake to do it. She seriously wouldn't let us go to bed until we beat it.

damn, I have the same type of story posted here too. Passing Rampage in a day, quite a challenge. But it was only me playing, you were lucky to have 2 others helping you. Makes it go so much faster

anyway, yeah. Looks like I wasn't the only one without a controller save pack lol. I really wanted to see what happens at the end of the game, and it was kinda dissapointing because you only go to space for one level. But at least it was funny when the monsters shrunk and bounced on that scientist's tits

Beating all the Zelda and Metroid games so far with 100% completion.

Beating Psycho Mantis in MGS on PS1 was a **** yeah moment.

Beating all of the God Of War 1,2 and 3 Arena challenges( which was aggravating to the point of controller throwing.)

Beating Sephiroth in the Gladiator Arena in Kingdom Hearts.

I had a shit fit when I finally beat Reptile in MK1 that was huge for 9 year old me.

Owning anyone older at the arcade on MK always felt awesome especially if they were on a huge streak.

Beating my older brother and his friends in any game when I was a kid was always awesome because he talked so much shit he shouldve worn a facial diaper.

But my greatest achievment is that I started gaming @ 3 years old on an Atari 2600 and am still playing video games 24 years later.
And will hopefully play the rest of my life.

One of my favorites is still occurring.
Me and my Dad will stay up HOURS playing a game called "Sunset Riders" on the SNES.
It is just like Contra.. only with a Cowboy wild west theme.
We always make it to the boss and die.
F*cking kills me to always lose at the end, but it's always fun.
When we finally beat it, it will be my favorite memory that involves a video game.
