Usually it's a pattern from their clothing, the closeup of the eyes, a shot of their weapon, and a gameplay still. The tower set background comes from the ending.
 
If only did she have her normal brown eyes in this new model, I'd rate her 100%. The blank white eyes are very... uuurrrrgh... CORNY. She's not a God, revenant, undead or even old to have those kind of eyes.

However, her face and hair are 100% Tanya. Bye bye, generic Egyptian-white girl from the Story Mode!!!

Tanya still looks like a generic Egyptian girl, just a black one. Being a generic Egyptian girl is not a bad thing, that's how alot of Egyptian girls look. I don't know why people don't like the white eyes. i look them, she looks like Storm

People don't like her white eyes because they don't. Everyone has different tastes.
 
I don't have an issue with Tanya's white eyes. I'm completely fine with her having them or vice versa. Maybe she'll have different ones in her alternate costume.
 
I don't think modern Egyptian women look like Tanya, but rather that Tanya is kinda based on Ancient Egyptian fashion, such as with Cleopatra, Nefertiti and the likes.
 
To be honest, her white eyes don't look as bad now as they did in Deception/Armageddon. Deception made her look drastically different from her MK4 look, but at least it did make her look a lot older.
 
I restarted Story Mode last night. I can konfirm that Tanya's story mode model did NOT change with the latest patch.

That doesn't necessarily mean it won't get changed once she becomes available for download though.

Yeh, we ruled that out a few hours after in-game patch.
 
The story mode model needs to be her alternate color. I mean, you can't just ignore what you see in the story mode, especially since that's what's canon, right?

What if her P2 version gave her the pupils she had in her old model? It would probably change the color of her outfit, too, but it would be cool for those who prefer it that way. I don't see them doing something like that, though.

By your logic, the primary costumes of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kitana, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao are canon because it "doesn't matter" what Story Mode shows, which we all know to be a bald-faced lie.

If you're wrong about the Story Mode model getting changed when Tanya becomes available, you're getting called out on it, mark my words.
