All things Tanya! - Official Diskussion Thread

yeah i do understand your points and I do hope there will be room for growth to the character in future games. I do know that D'Vorah got alot of hate for turning out to be a 1 dimensional villain/ lackey for the MK series. That's what i assume is the main reason some dont like Tanya.

also is "shock" value or the element of surprise more important than historical relevance and building on character past history. Or are we(fans) to think of this as an alternate MK universe and Tanya (serious question)

I think we are meant to see that in different circumstances Tanya might be a different person. It's ironic that she's fighting for the realm she gave away last time. Fundamentally though we can see she's still scheming and untrustworthy, and I imagine she'll grow to show her true colors if she returns.

I know that this is off topic but is the comics canon? why doesnt Goro have his arms ripped off, why isnt Rain burnt to a crisp?

back on topic i tweeted at the comic writer and asked about Tanya and i think she's coming up soon. he favored the tweet.

The comics are provisionally canon. Stuff in the game preempts them. Kittelsen said Rain survived the fire. Goro's appearance in MKX seems to be non-canon, like human Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kitana.

I think Goro dies, and him returning is just another 'what if', suggested by Kano dialogue in the intros. I dunno though.

Well, Outworld is full of magic. Goro might have his arms regenerated at some point, as Rain was regenerated after having been burnt into the ground. ^^

But yeah, the comic story is canon, despite the inconsitencies.

Anyways, I wonder if we get to see Tanya in the comic. I believe the whole scene with Mileena being captured, and with how Kotal gets his supporters and becomes the next emperor has already happened in the comics, or will happen in the next chapter? So we will most likely see Tanya free Mileena in the comics soon. ^^

I hope when she appears in the comic she looks like the new model.

Highly doubtful.
I think honestly the comics are mostly already done, the release dates are just for the hype.
I think he's actually probably finishing up the 25th or 26th issue right now.
That's how artists of comics and tv shows mainly work.
If kittlesen is one of these artists, which I'm very sure he is, he probably incorporated the Tanya from the original model.

I understand there's heavy lead time, but the colorist is usually pretty late in the process and they've clearly been working on revising Tanya since before the game even released. Anyway, fingers crossed that she's brown at least.

I seriously feel like when Ed tweets the 'Tanya' stream photo for the breakdown, it'll be a rat race between me, incubus, and imp. sindel trying to post the topic first.

Wut wut wut? What is this about?

You know those Kombat Kards backgrounds, like some are comic book backgrounds, and etc.
Tanya and all the other DLC get 4 specifics for them. It'll likely be 2 scenes from her ending, one of her eyes facing the screen, and another of a gameplay still.
I'm so hype.

she did? I think she was ok, self preservation being her motivation to the point it is kinda fits for a living hive and she was even better than Tanya at at playing the game of thrones.

It mainly bugs me because they literally put almost tanya's exact word-for-word MKD bio into D'vorahs MKX bio. Bunch of BS.
