What are some of your favorite books?

The Lord of the Rings
The Hobbit
The Silmarillion
The Chronicles of Narnia (all 7)
Animorphs (lol cheesy i know :p)
The Alchemist
Robinson Crusoe

I lean towards science fiction and fantasy, so it's reflected in my choices.

*The Wall Around Eden (Joan Slonczewski)
*The Hound of the Baskervilles (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle)
*The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle)
*The Illustrated Man (Ray Bradbury)
*The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (C.S. Lewis)...I haven't got around to reading the rest of the Chronicles of Narnia
*Voyage of the Space Beagle (A.E. van Vogt) ...more specifically "The Black Destroyer" and "War of Nerves"
*Alice in Wonderland(Lewis Carrol)

Unfortunately, getting started on reading is the hard part. I have to be in the right mood for it thus there are long spells where I stop reading. Being a slow reader doesn't help things either. I'm improving a bit since I managed to read 4-6 books last summer. I read the most books more during my middle school years, but that was only because I forced to with the Accelerated Reader program.

If you guys like CS Lewis, you must read the books I listed above... they will unmake your world

the only book I ever read and I still never learned a damn thing from it

I literally LMAO'ed

If anyone likes murder mysteries, Sujata Massey's series is so awesome <3

http://www.sujatamassey.com/japan/rei.html

I'm a sucker for female protagonists, mystery based stuff, and (impending doom thriller moments)
Sort of like when someone's coming down the stairs and you have no way out of the room, and minimal hiding places. Just a situation basically where hope is all but lost, and the main character feels impending doom.

dunno i'm weird.

^^ does her stuff fit that kind of criteria? I dont mean ALL of it lol.

Pretty much.

The stories are really good. There are a few books in the series I don't have yet because I didn't know she wrote more, lol. I have everything up to The Bride's Kimono.

I think you will really enjoy them.

I'll give them a shot then.

The Good Soldiers: It's such a good account of the Iraq war, and the writer was actually present for many of the events.
Red Storm Rising: One my favourite Tom Clancy books. Why? Because there's boat combat, submarine combat, aerial combat, tank combat, and infantry combat.
Lately though, many of the best stories I've read are Mass Effect fanfics.

I will literally read anything and everything. Particular books that have made an impression on me:

The Dark Tower series (Stephen King)
The Hannibal Lector trilogy (Thomas Harris)
Nemesis (James Swallow)
Trainspotting (Irvine Welsch)
Sophies World (Jostein Gaarder)
The Stand (Stephen King)
No Country for Old Men (Cormac McCarthy)
The Mysterious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time (Mark Haddon)
The Harry Potter series (J.K. Rowling)
The Hobbit (JRR Tolkein)
The Road (Cormac McCarthy)
Desperation (Stephen King)
Eisenhorn trilogy (Dan Abnett)
On-going Gaunts Ghost series (Dan Abnett)
On-going Ciaphus Cain series (Sandy Mitchell)
Big Trouble (Dave Barry)

I have boxes and boxes and tons of different books, all different genres and different authors, but those are just some of the books I can think of, off the top of my head.

I forgot about the Space Trilogy until you mentioned it. I visited a book store and was tried to look for them the other day. I didn't have any luck though.

i have the resident evil novels and read them. theyre pretty cool. i havent read the movie books. theyre probably not very good im guessing. i also have and read the old 4 doom books. the first 2 were great, the 3rd one was good for the first half then it got stupid, the 4th one just sucked. it went from being just like the game to having nothing to do with the game. i heard theres a doom 3 book. i might get it someday. im probably going to get those mass effect books. lol ya i like game based books.
