Why is Scorp so easy to use?

Having read all the posts in this thread doesn't change the fact that none of what you've listed is cheating. Cheating is breaking the rules. There are no rules implemented to prevent someone from idiotically throwing fireball after fireball. The parry glitch was a broken part of the game, that was as close to cheating as I've seen. Spamming moves that work isn't cheating, it's a rather simple method of fighter. Flawed, but not cheating.

Cheating is doing something that the maker didn't intend to be done or possible, and they knew those moves could be done over and over, so it's not cheating. They actually included a handy-dandy block button to help you keep from getting hit by those moves, so if you don't know how to handle them, it's your fault for getting hit by them, especially if they're using them over and over.
 
Cheap? So what your saying is, we have to pay MS points/Money/whatever PSN uses to use those moves?
So it's cost effective, that's what cheap means.

The video-game definition of something that is "cheap" is something that is hard to counter or is considered by some "unfair". By no way is using what the developers give you "cheating". Trust me, I hate it as much as you, but it isn't cheating.
 
Because naturally newbies are going to gravitate toward a character that blows them away by saying (OMGSOBADASS) "GET OVER HERE!"

Every single move that you mentioned can be blocked. That is NOT cheating. I think that you need to learn what "cheating" really means.

Cheating means that if your opponent does a glitch in the game where you get hit out of nowhere, or do some sort of glitch where your character gets frozen or stuck in an animation and can't move. THAT is cheating.

All those moves are simple projectiles that can be avoided or blocked. They're part of the game. You need to just get better.
 
I'll tell you what's cheating. Kung Lao's spin as a wake up attack, and People blocking Lows while standing, and Overheads while crouching...WTF

And hitting me with an overhead while I'm lying on the ground? That is the biggest BS I've ever seen. I'm lying on the ground I should be safe from an attack that hits mid and low attack should lift me into a crouch block.

Still not cheating,cheating would be disconnecting your modem just before losing so its not reflected on your gamertag
 
what is scorpion like when it comes to tourtament play? i know he is a good newbie player but does that mean he is not a good pro player?
 
man, scorpion is heaps easy to use.. so accessable.
his combo's are easy and his special moves cover every base!
and im so sick of people resorting to him when they lose a couple of matches in a row!

i guess maybe a lot of people used him in the demo maybe?

i only ever play as him if it comes up in random..
 
Wow...I love Scorpion, he's my favorite character in all of MK but I haven't used him online in weeks - he's way too predictable! I come across SO many Ermac's, Smoke's and Scorpion's that I know EXACTLY what they will do even before the match starts, so I'm actually relieved when someone picks them as it ends up being an easy match. I'm sorry but if you can't counter a spear move or a teleport when you've been spammed it a million times, you're not very good.


PS - They made Scorpion a 'beginner' character in this game, which I'm sort of angry about. His basic combos/specials are really easy to pull off but once you get better you realize you're better off using a character with a bigger variety of moves or a more complex move set.
 
Heavy lag + transition frames unfortunately makes some characters (mostly teleporters, capturers and sliders) almost unbeatable because it is simply impossible to react to their specials in time.

Cheating = Using a turbo controller, using a lag switch, using a hack to make auto-wins etc.

Cheap = The cry of the scrub.

Spammers = Free predictable noobs that do the same shit over and over again.

Scrub = Super clueless noobs that don't know how to deal with shit.

Online = The easiest way to win with minimal effort.

Offline = Where real players are at.
