So what would you keep/change for MK9?

I just noticed that they mixed up Cyrax's and Sektors win poses...

Seriously...WTF? Fix that sh!t ASAP! Looks stupid.

THANK YOU! Someone else has noticed, I felt like a douche with how that bugged me so much but now I know others are annoyed I no longer feel weird.
 
I'd want Kitana's Kiss of Death to return and have the victim fall apart piece by piece instead of one big explosion. As he falls apart, hje should scream in so much agony like he his being tortured for centuries.
 
They can update the Kiss o' Death with a more poisonous approach, make it less comical. What about if where her lips touch the model starts to distort and sizzle and they cough up blood before vomiting up their intestines.

Kitana's Kiss of Death should be like this:

Kitana takes of her mask, kisses the opponent and walks back. The opponent starts puking blood, then puking internal organs, and finally he screams looking up like "oh my God, I can't stand anymore", then his head falls back and all his body crumbles into pieces.

About her hair, I think they will probably change it afterwards. Other things that I'd change: change forward dash to run, make characters scream more, make the ice white, not blue, have at least three fatalities per character, no babalities or animalities, maybe friendships and hara kiris, no mini games outside the fights, inside the fight there could be test your might mkvsdcu style, but this time with more variety (like breaking floors while falling).
 
why does everyone want kitana to have the kiss of death?? isnt it sonya's fatality???

Both should have it since they are classic signature fatalities. Kitana's has always been the kiss in close range and Sonya's kiss has always been a projectile. They are 2 different types of kisses so both are needed and they need to improve with more blood and gore. :-)

Again I'll say this: The females need to get brutal and nastier like Kung Lao!

I think they need to have more particle effects and stuff in the foreground, like in the Jade's Dessert stage. I looks the the fighters are fighting in front of a backdrop. If they are fighting in a driving sandstorm there should be sand blowing on them in the plane they are on too. Cyrax's spinning blade fatality needs a little work too. The blade kinda looks out of place.

Most of the things I think the game needs are merely visual. I tend to agree with the notion, that a game is an artistic vision, and the developer should be able to do what they want with it. Everybody is always going to have varying opinions of what they feel is appropriate for this game. As far as the gameplay is concerned, I think they are on the right track. I have had the opportunity to speak to a few people, (gamestop employees,) who have played the game, and they said that it played like a dream.

Am the only one who doesn't like the breaker feature in MK games? i think it's really annoying and they should take it out, there should be other counters but the breaker is so simple , its too easy to pull off. And to the guy who mentioned changing the dash to running, I'm with that. It can even be like the running in MK vs DC where you still double tap forward and they run but some characters like the smaller and characters with more stamina should have longer run bursts. Bigger characters shouldnt run for too long, that would be more realistic IMO. what do you guys think? And it seems like when the characters separate in this game, they are allowed to back away too far, too much range, the wall to wall fighting should be closer range, I noticed that in the SF games, even MVC2. In this game you spend a lot of time chasing your opponent.

Oh and about the run dashing, the smaller characters should obviously be quicker at it, and recover faster while the bigger characters recover slower - each character could have their own attritubes, speed power, reach, recovery. This stuff is probably in the game already, just not shown to us. But yeah dash running would be cool for me if no run button is going to exist.

i think they should add something more believable like with the moves done to certain characters. like if rain shoots lightning at raiden, why should that hurt him?? and so on. you get what im saying.

yeah and I never liked when two players were using subzero, you could both throw iceballs and freeze each other at the sametime, they should cancel each other out, you were always left there staring at the screen while both characters were frozen that was so annoying .
 
who do you guys think will return to be the mini boss before Shao Kahn? Goro, Kintaro, or Motaro?

my guess is in the story mode you will probably fight all 3 of them. each at different points in the story. i mean it is the events of mk 1-3, so why would they leave them out?

Goro and/or Kintaro. Motaro needs to go away.

The crap where Reptile can still be seen when he's invisible needs to go, too.

The camera zooms in as the characters come closer together and zooms back out slightly as the characters back away this is cool for 3D games but looks odd when you have 2D gameplay......

If you have a keen eye for detail like I do Street Fighter 4 doesn't do this the Y axis camera doesn't move at all (except for Ultras)

However Street Fighter Ex Plus Alpha camera did zoom in on characters as they came closer together this is why some people have said the game looks more 3D then Street Fighter 4

I consider this a MAJOR issue because if they're going for the old school 2D style this will only hamper the style of it it

I think they do this for a cinematic appeal, and to show off their awesome character models. I think they are trying to move beyond the 90's fighting game format and do something a little different.

I think Fayte just misunderstands what they're going for. Seems to think that having a 2D fighting plane means that all 3-dimensional aspects should be removed. Side-stepping is what caused a lot of turmoil amongst the old-school crowd, but there are actually even worse things that were implemented that really didn't have anything to do with the 3D fighting plane. (Namely more fluid but slower animations.)
