Your wishlist for MK10

Injustice had a pretty big story mode and it still had an assload of features, at least for a fighting game.

I'm certain that Injustice had a somewhat larger budget to work with. Even within the same publisher, the resources invested in video games are not equal. There is a big difference between what Namco puts into Tekken as opposed to Katamari. Anyways, there is a hope that WB can provide extra funding for the extra for NRS to make a bigger, better MK game.

For Create A Character Mode here is how I think it should be organized in terms of moveset...

Fighting Style: Just the basic attacks from any character. It would be nice if a whole fighting style from each original character was set and ready to be selected for the customized character. Throws included in this category.

Special Moves: (All special moves from original characters that can be selected.)
- Projectile
- Charge Attack
- Teleport

X-Ray: Select an X-Ray attack from any original character.

Fatality 1: A list of set fatalities from original characters can be chosen.

Fatality 2: (Same as above.)

Basically speaking, if Tanya's fighting style was chosen for the created character, that character can still have Liu Kang's Flying Kick, Sareena's Dagger Toss, Mileena's Teleport Kick, Scorpion's X-Ray, Johnny Cage's Trophy fatality and Sub-Zero's Spine Rip fatality for example.

All i care is gameplay, so plz NRS:
- 2D Hitboxes, there're many problems with 3D Hitboxes in Injustice and MK9. Don't be lazy.
- Keep MK9 gameplay (especially Dash Cancel). Fix its problems (like Armor, Resets, Meter Buiding). I don't want any stupid thing from Injustice (like unblockable interactables, big screen) and i don't want NRS to make a brand new game. MK9's fundamental is great, just need to be fixed.
- Universal armor, like Injustice. Or armor at all. I don't want to see another retarded character like MK9 Kabal.
- Reasonable frame data. And no more stupid 50/50 like vortexes in Injustice.
- Stage Transition, but not over the top like Injustice.
- No interactables, those things ruined Injustice's footsie.
- Another meter for X-Ray, so it can be the real comeback mechanic, like it should have been.
- With another meter for X-Ray, maybe now you can spend 3 Bars for other things like Trait System, or KOF's Drive Mode, KI's Instinct Mode... I don't know, it's just my idea.
- Add running, but KOF's running, not UMK3. Plz no Run Button.

I'm not sure if I had already posted a list, but if I did, I'd like to add one more thing that really annoyed me during 2011.

I want to be able to skip cutscenes. I'm the kind of person who gets a wee bit impatient when it comes to certain things in video games. I don't mind watching cutscenes, I really don't. But let's say, you couldn't beat Kahn at the very end of the game because you had to go somewhere. You had already watched the cutscene that they played before the fight, so why are you forced to watch that scene again? You were already at the fight, you could just press and hold a button and BOOM skipped.

Yeah, skippable cutscenes.

cutscenes are already skippable... have u tried pressing A (on xbox) or X (on ps3)??? you have to have played through the story once I think. just keep pressing the button and if the next fight has 'loaded', then it will skip the cutscene

For the past couple of months, waiting on Mortal Kombat 10, I've been playing games that are known for their gameplay. Such as KOFs, Smash Bros Melee, and Marvel vs Capcom 2. I must say, I'm starting to care more about the gameplay. But the thought of Mortal Kombat not having a story urks me. It has to have a story to me. It does not need to be taken out. If anything, stuff like the kyrpt and that weird slot Kombat thing should be taken out. And the challenge tower should have less. I seriously think Mortal Kombat should go down the route to focus gameplay more. I'm tired of seeing other gamers trash on MK. It has tons of potential to be in the leagues of other fighters..

Out of any fighting game ever made, Mortal Kombat has the deepest and best storyline. I've been following the storyline since 1992...

I have to admit, MK has the best gameplay when it comes to button configurations. They are not as complex as other games. Combos are much more simpler to perform.

With that said, they should make a branching, "what if?" section of story mode just like the new Dynasty Warriors, where we can see multiple scenarios occurring based on your actions, and these what if sections would be unlocked by meeting certain requirements in the story.

Agreed, but if they're making "what if" stories, I'd rather have those "what if" stories be made into their own action-adventure games.

MK: Shaolin Monks was a great "what if" story, and a Sub-Zero and Scorpion game where they team up to take down Quan Chi would be another great "what if" story, which doesn't have to directly affect MK10.

I think besides the combo break, the enhanced moves, and x-rays, there should also be super attacks. Basically they are like super combos that can be performed. They're like hyper combos from Marvel vs Capcom and Desperation Moves from King of Fighters.

Examples include, characters doing a set of fast punches (or slices if they wield blades) and kicks or characters can throw multiple fireballs. If you've played the King of Fighters or Street Fighter, you'll know what I mean. It should be activated by just pressing certain buttons simultaneously. (It shouldn't be so over the top like DBZ tier though. Super high tier attacks such as planet-sized energy balls should be fatalities instead.)

Here is how it's be in the super meter and should consist of 4 levels.

Level 1 (1 Meter): Enhanced Moves
Level 2 (2 Meters): Combo Breaker (It should be a more stylish counter attack like in Dead or Alive.)
Level 3 (3 Meters): Super Attacks
Level 4 (4 Meters): X-Ray (This should do the most damage.)

If anything i would love to see in MK10, i would have to say i would love to see brutalities return. I loved performing those in UMK3. If those were to be brought back, that would be awesome. And also, i would love to see a much larger select screen. And a longer story mode.

I want the brutalities to be a power up with an input like a fatality's after "Finish Him/Her" like in MKSM and then we press ANY BUTTON once the power up starts with a timer and whatever the last button we press will be how the victim will be finished.

For example I'll use Tanya:

1. I do the input for the brutality and Tanya powers up while a timer is above the screen.
2. I press any of the buttons rapidly and she does different attacks such as punches, kicks, weapon attacks, low blows, and etc.
3. When the timer runs out, the last button I press will depend on the finisher like if I press X (for a Sony game) she'd do a neck break, or circle for a curb stomp, or square for a decapitation (with a weapon or an uppercut punch) or triangle for a head smash (similar to Jax's fatality) with flames on her hands.

While sometimes the game mechanics can make the game for me:
Super smash Brothers Melee

Sometimes just the story is enough for me:
Final Fantasy Games

Sometimes though, they go hand in hand. Mortal Kombat for me so far, is similar for me in Blazblue. I like to play the game mechanics, largely because I've been exposed to the cast in a story environment long enough to really love the characters in the universe. Thus artificially making me like the game play more.

I wouldn't mind if none of them come back for MK10 but at least have Kitana and Jade back later on (having them back in MK10 would be awesome though).

Who do Stones fans pay to see? Ronnie Wood? Or Mick & Keith? And who are the Mick & Keith of MK again?
