What game are you playing right now?

Kingdom Hearts 2.8 is great. I bought it specifically for the 0.2 Birth By Sleep and I don't regret it at all. Birth By Sleep is my favorite Kingdom Hearts games and I felt sad for Aqua throughout the entire 2.5 Hours it took for me to complete that story. Absolutely loved it. Backcover was a really good hour long movie and the mystery was also good. However, it ended with a cliffhanger. I suggest that people play the game in order of: Backcover -> 0.2 BBS -> KHDDD.

Yakuza 0 is fan-freaking-tastic. I never would've thought that this game would actually be as fun as it is. And the side-activites are really well done. If this game is this good, I can only imagine how great Yakuza 6 is gonna be.

The only reason I enjoyed 5 & 6 is the co-op feature they both shared; playing with friends made it fun. Other than that, they were a shitfest.

RE5 is a fantastic video game, just a bad Resident Evil game. So I wouldn't consider it to be a "shitfest," as it got 9/10s for good reason from most reviewers.

Playing GTAIV currently since it's finally backwards compatible. Thank you Microsoft for being the best.

The same could be said about MGSV, though.
It reviewed well, too.
As a fan of the series, though, I didn't care for it.
MGSV was a let-down (for me) from a MGS fan perspective, just like RE5 was a let-down (for me) from a RE fan perspective.
It being a "bad Resident Evil" game translates into it being a bad game, in general, for the die-hard fans of the series.

the way Resident Evil 5 and 6 were pretty much designed for co-op play is EXACTLY what i didn't like about them. I DON'T like playing Resident Evil with friends.

anyway im starting Doom over again. the file was bugged or something.

I can safely say that myself, and @nemesiswontdie are the biggest Resident Evil fans on here, and I'm just saying that a "shitfest" is an extremely harsh and overdramatic way to describe RE5. Nemesiswontdie knows I dislike RE5 for straying so far from survival horror, yet I still pumped days upon days into the game. Even bought the new Xbox One/PS4 version to play it again.

Same with MGSV and MGO3. Yes, the game was far from the best in the series thanks to a lackluster story, yet the gameplay was beyond phenomenal, surpassing every other installment in the series for me. MGS3 is still my favorite, followed by MGS1, but I can't say either plays as good as MGSV. Yet of course I won't be replaying MGSV due to the story, although the game itself was still done extremely well, hence the fantastic reviews and the great time I had with it.

That's just you 2, though.
Straying away from survival horror could make someone else (who's also a fan) feel like the game sucks to them.
I get what you mean that "shitfest" or "sucks" is HIGHLY subjective, and I agree, but that's also what I'm getting at.

I'm a HUGE Metal Gear and MGS fan (since MG 1 and MG2 on NES), and yeah, to me MGSV was a HUGE shitfest / sucked because of the lackluster story, focus / slo-motion making getting spotted easier to deal with, not feeling as much of a stealth game as previous installments, as well as the whole repetitive mission after mission, unlike in previous MG and MGS games.
Again, I personally wouldn't give it a 9/10 or even a 10/10, especially when there were other MGS games that were done much better, imo.
I'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10, but not a 10.
Hell, as much as I gripe about MGS4 (because of the way that Kojima treated Solid Snake), the gameplay, stealth mechanics and story (aside from the BS rapid aging and ending) were (to me) pretty much what a Metal Gear game is about.

From the moment I saw the cover of RE2 when I was 6 years old, I was a die hard fan up until RE6, and even now I gotta say, RE5 isn't a bad game. If you take it for what it is, it's a good game. It's a shot at an action adventure/survival horror co-op game. It didn't fail - but it didn't succeed either. I'm fine with the way the Christ/Jill and Wesker rivalry went down. Some might not like it, but I have a good amount of friends from past RE forums I used to go to that actually liked the game. So story wise it's a toss up. Some people like it, some don't.

Gameplay wise though, it's really just an amped up version of RE4 if you look at it and everyone likes to suck the dick off of RE4. It took the action, and enemy elements from RE4, while tacking on online co-op, a story that actually does something for the mainline story, online co-op mercenaries, Versus mode, AND 2 DLC chapters AAANNNDD even gave us more characters for Mercs with Mercs Reunion. Now whether you like co-op is up to you, but it doesn't make it a bad, and the game is actually great overall.

Which is understandable. It's hard to get scared when you and your friend are cracking jokes, and even then it's just not scary when a friend is with you to help. Now when you're not playing co-op the AI just ruins it. It really is a game meant for co-op. The old RE forum I used to go to had a thread where you can put in your PSN username and meet people you want to play with for RE5's release night. I ended up meeting my friend Ryan through the thread and we legit played the RE5 demo every day until release day, and then we stayed up for 23 hours straight playing through it on hard mode. After we were done, I played by myself to get some trophies and the AI just ruined the experience.

So it's a lose/lose with the scare factor because you're either with a friend, or dealing with the retarded AI.

Which is why I replied to Shirayuki with:

Words like "shitfest" and "sucks" are completely subjective opinions.
For me, the review score didn't match up with what I played.
As you said, some people like it, some people didn't.
4 of my friends and I are some of the people who didn't care for 5 or 6.
VII, though, looks amazing.

I didn't care for either the story or for the co-op of those 2 games.
