Dishonored Freaking 2. Suprising or not, you decide, but with only 2hrs of gameplay (and only being on the second mission currently) I can say I definitely love this game way more than the first game. And I loved the first game.
Maybe my view is a bit biased due to me reading the book (which I still haven't had time to finish), but the story is off to a great start. With the first Dishonored, it was mainly the very first scene with Jessamine's Assassination, the betrayal, and the endings that really stuck out to me. You can't realistically know why Corvo wanted revenge as badly as he did without actually looking up the truth through the audiologs from the first game (the fact that he is indeed Emily's Father, which means he was in love with Jessamine). In this game, it's still somewhat the same in terms of stuff like the book or the Brigmore Witches DLC, but without them you can still understand why they do what they do. It's not a purely revenge story like the first Dishonored, and because of that we actually have a good story without the need for reading or listening to audiologs. I didn't know how they could do a legitimate "Dishonorable" event that would make the sequel possible, but the way they did it was spectacular to me personally.
Graphically, the game is freaking beautiful. Especially since I have a Pro and a 4KTV. A big improvement over the first game.
The gameplay is tighter. Idk if this was in the first game, but you can finally defeat enemies non-lethally while in a combat situation, though not recommended when fighting a group. There are a lot of bone charms, lore books, audiologs, and letters in this game. Seemingly even more than the last game. Bloodflies have replaced rats and they encourage very strategic gameplay. Still can't speak on much since I'm not that far in, but I'm lowkey regretting accepting the Outsider's gift. I really feel that Emily's canon playthrough should be without powers and I haven't used her powers beyond the void anyways.
