What are you listening to?

To HELL with Britney Spears!

Happy Birthday to a REAL singer! The man who bites the heads off of bats! The man who got banned from San Antonio, TX for 10 years because he peed on the Alamo! The original lead singer of the First Metal Band, Black Sabbath! The Prince of Darkness!

Happy Birthday to Ozzy F***in' Osbourne! All Hail the Prince of Darkness!

On this day 43 years ago, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention played a show at the Montreux Casino in Montreux, Switzerland, where Deep Purple was scheduled to record an album (which eventually turned out to be their most legendary one, Machine Head). At the Zappa show, some idiot shot a flare gun in the venue, causing a massive fire. Zappa threw down his guitar and ran from the venue, and because the rest of the venue's occupants were smart enough to follow Zappa's lead, there were no major injuries, but Montreux Casino was destroyed nonetheless. Deep Purple was left scrambling for another studio to record, but the one silver lining of that fire is THIS legendary song. The lyrics tell the story of this fire, but the song is most famous for that guitar riff. Yes, THAT guitar riff!

^ Listen to that song everyday and I didn't know about the history of that song. I always thought it was a stoner song, good thing it isn't. I used to be a big stoner when I was 21.

Tomorrow at 10AM me and my best friend will drive 4 hours to St. Louis for the Youth Code / Haujobb / Front Line Assembly / Skinny Puppy show.

The hype is real. Well it is here anyways.

Here's a video taken literally between me and my friends head at the Skinny Puppy show in Lawrence, Kansas back in February earlier this year (I'm on the left with the glasses and my friend to the right).

I posted this before but I never get tired of it.

This is very good. Do you like Ozzy a lot?
I was a MUCH bigger Ozzy fan in my teenage years...to the point where I wanted to urinate on the Alamo (I'm from San Antonio) just to be like Ozzy. I even refused to listen to any Sabbath material that didn't have Ozzy (big mistake on my part, I must admit).
