Been gone for a while. Some small news to catch up on... Foley and Heyman back in WWE, that tramp McCool is gone (maternity leave) And Taker cut his hair. I didn't miss much did I?

Thats what I said, but if you look at TNA these days, it's a possibility.

Stings getting to that age where he's at his last run on Pro Wrestling. And with WWE owning all of the rights to WCW, this could mean BIG things for the ol' Stinger if he goes to WWE. They could hype up this match, make action figures, DVD's, put him in the video game, etc; and he could make one last big run. He'd definitely spike the ratings on WWE if he went over.

That is stating the obvious, but, still, Sting is as huge as he is without ever having to step in a WWE ring. A lot of guys hit the WWE to become bigger stars than they were in other promotions, and to get themselves recognized on television. Sting doesn't need any of that. He was already a huge star in the WCW days, and he is still a big star in TNA. He doesn't need to establish himself any further.

As far as I know (from articles read), he feels pretty strongly about never being in the WWE, and I think it would be awesome if he never did it, just to show you can be a legend without having to appear in the biggest wrestling promotion of them all. He has done it this long, and he bound to retire any time soon, so the WWE would mostly limit him to talking and a match every now and then, like they do with the Undertaker. No need for that at all.
 
Anyone watching Survivor Series? I have to admit they really failed to get my interest with the card this year. It just seems they are treading water until the Rumble and nothing really major is going to happen until then.
 
Passing Survivor Series for now, the card is really poor like Jade mentioned it is more of the same more or less and somehow..to my surprise i watch TNA wrestling on a regular base now since 2-3 months. I switched in just for fun and found their current product quite good, it reminds me at the old WCW ..except that there could be a lot more highflyer action.
 
I never buy PPV's now.....apart from Mania. They don't mean anything and haven't done since they started doing one a month. 4/5 PPV's a year was much better and you got better feuds built up over a few months rather than just sticking random matches together, or having the same match on 3 PPV's straight.
How many times have we seen Punk vs Bryan or Shemus vs Del Rio this year?
 
What does everyone think of this story line with AJ and Cena? I hate it all except the segment with Ziggler in the locker room.

I think Tydus O'neal kinda has something. If he got rid of Darren Young I could see him going somewhere. I hope they plan on splitting them up, though I don't see that happening anytime soon.
 
Rybotch hurt Punk last week when he put him through the table.

He had emergency surgery and there was talk the other day that he will still fight at this Sunday's PPV but I guess we will see.
 
Just got WWF Smackdown and WCW Mayhem in the mail today.

Mayhem is just as bad as I remember (but hey, it's not as bad as Backstage Assault)

But Smackdown is still great. It holds up to this day and I could play it for long periods of time. Seeing Ministry Era Undertaker in this game is so cool. Such a badass.

I have No Mercy as well. The only WWF game for N64 I don't have is Wrestlemania 2000, and after I get that one I'll have every wrestling game for it.

I'd have to agree with you though. The games that had the controls like No Mercy were the best (WCW Revenge, World Tour, etc; ) but No Mercy introduced that storyline aspect and made your choices define where you went on the story mode. Its a shame that Smackdown didn't have this until their 3rd game maybe?
 
Has anyone else the feeling that the TNA is getting better and better? Maybe it is just me but i skipped watching wwe since weeks now while i watch the TNA shows

It's funny how the more 'basic' games are more fun than the games they put all this effort in to.


I still like the wrestling games they make but, still, they do all this shit to try to make it as realistic as possible and it still gets boring after a while.


Like Super Mario, for example. Such a basic game where 99% of it involves nothing but running and jumping yet it never, ever gets boring.


As for TNA, it has it's ups and down like WWE, but, WWE tends to have a much longer stretch of shittyness than TNA. Aces and Eights = awesome. The Shield = yawn.
 
TNA has been miles better since they finally got rid of Vince Russo last year. I don't like how they pretty much have forgotten the X division, but at least most of their shows make sense now instead of one SWERVE~! after another.

WWE has been on quite the run recently. I don't quite "get" The Shield, but that six man at the TLC PPV was f'ing great. Granted 3 of the guys involved are awesome wrestlers (Ambrose, Rollins, and Bryan) and Kane has been around long enough to not get in the way.

What worries me is how they've already brought in Big E. Langston on a top level program. It's a slippery slope with WWE and new faces. If they bring them in on a top level program and it doesn't set the world on fire, people backstage tag them as not being able to cut it and they get shunted down the card and forgotten. However if they are brought in to start in the middle, there's a fair chance they get stuck in midcard hell forever. From most accounts, Langston is pretty charismatic and can work pretty decent for a big guy, but I can already hear him being called "Ryblack".
