The Official Marvel vs Capcom 3 Thread

I ended up with Dante and Storm for sure, still not set on my third. Was rotating through just about everyone, did like having Sent in there but it almost feels cheap so I rotated him for Hulk and that wasnt a bad trio. IDK who I will settle for my third yet. Had a blast playing got a 130+ combo twice (set my team up for the high combo #'s screwing around) and learned that going against Wolvie, X-23 and Chun in total rush down is a pain in the ass to deal with. I regret advising that my buddy use them haha :)

I just bought the last PS3 copy in the EB Games by my house, SUCK IT!

Just bought this game a few hours ago. Started off with Wolverine, Deadpool, and Damrau. Button mashing has never been so fun :)
 
Chris is awesome, fck everyone who says he isn't! I have him, Felicia and Storm as a team right now and Chris got me my first trophy <3

This game is really fun.

If anyone wants to play, check with me tomorrow (PS3, by the way) because I want to play alone today and try different teams. My message pop ups are turned off all the time so don't get mad if I don't respond.

I might be busy playing with one of my friends, though, he claims that Chris sucks and he'll own me :rolleyes:

Placeholder listing. Neither upcoming games are due in March, and Mercs 3D (if you want to call it a full game) is out in the summer.

You may want to join us at Biohaze.com. Not exactly a very active site at the moment due to the lack of RE buzz, but there are lots of dedicated contributors including a JPN resident who covers pretty much all events. You may have heard of him (cvxfreak).

EDIT:

SFIV and this game use different tech/engines and developed by different developers. Any similarities are merely aesthetic. MVC3's engine is Capcom's own internal MT Framework (DMC4, RE5 etc.) while Dimps wrote their own engine for SFIV.

Just beat Galactus, FINALLY. Wow, he is a **** to beat. Also, Ghost Rider IS in it, he is in Dante's ending. Not sure if he is playable.
 
nope not playable.

Iron Fist and some others are in some characters ending.

PS- beat it with She-Hulk for a Capcom surprise! ;)
 
Finaly was able to get a copt of this game (Special edition PS3) on ebay for only $70, thank god, all the others were going for around $138 plus shipping. I also got another copy from my bro lol, as for my team so far it's Spiderman,Wesker,Thor. I'm impressed that they went back and used Makoto Tsuchibayashi's design of "Sparda" from DMC1 for Dante's extra costume. However, if Blade does make it as a DLC, I WILL buy the game.

I may be a DC fan, but I love me some Blade (nothing sexual)
 
Man, I liked this game much more than I thought I would. I've been playing it from early morning till late night (I happen to be on vacation, so I can =D).

Funnily enough, the team I had thought would be perfect for me, Phoenix/X-23/Storm was actually one of the worst I tried. Some of the good teams I got are Trish/C. Viper/Phoenix, X-23/Amaterasu/Magneto, Morrigan/Chris/Storm. I'm actually surprised I liked Chris and Crimson Viper.
 
I plan on giving Chris a try eventually, might do it tonight. Ended up with Storm, Dante and Trish as my "main" three atm. Going to see how I like that combination of characters.

He is not too hard, just have to super jump and string combos.

Btw, is anyone else having a hard time connecting to Live games? I tried the first day and could play online right off the bat. Now after that all I am getting is connection lost or unable to connect? wtf.

Yea Capcom is aware of the issues so we should see a fix soon I would hope.

Unlike other people, I didn't play it on easy or very easy, lol. That's cheap...
 
Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate MvC3 and it's predecessors. And bare with me I only played MvC2 like twice. The times I did play it, I played it against my cousin and all he did was spam the "Tag-In" moves (He's not big on actually playing the game, just messing around) and he still some how beat me. I'm not saying I'm a God at Street Fighter or any fighting game in general, but how can someone who knows what they're doing somewhat be defeated by someone who's just spamming R1 or R2 (I can't remember). Am I missing something here? I want to get into fighters more, but I don't wanna game that can be won using "cheap" tactics like that. Plus it looks insanely fast from gameplay I've seen. UMK3 I can take, this shit has flashes of color everywhere distracting my eyes every second haha.
