The Dark Knight Rises ~ USE SPOILER TAGS FOR SPOILERS, NO OPEN SPOILERS

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

As much as I like The Dark Knight, I liked Batman Begins much better and think its an overall better movie. I feel its much more inspiring and Nolan did an amazing job in grounding Batman in a realistic world, from his fear of Bats and how he was taught to confront it, his Nin Jit su training by Ducard, how his ideals, motives and principles came into being, all of it was explored and interpreted very well.

This is one of the best scenes in the movie.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

I liked the Dark Knight cuz it not only tests Batman's limits physically and mentally, but psychologically as well, when Joker wanted Gotham City to become a hellish place, full of chaos and turmoil. Plus Joker got through most people's skin psychological, especially Harvey Dent, and almost got Batman to commit something unforgivable in the Interrogation Room. But in the end, Batman's willpower and beliefs has beaten Joker's game, although at a cost of Dent going kill crazy and the death of Rachel Dawes. AND....he forced Commissioner Gordon to put the blame on him for all the things Harvey committed, cuz he knows that once the public finds out what Harvey has done after he left the hospital, all the criminals he persecuted and put in prison, will be set free, thus all the months of drastically ending corruption in Gotham would have been in vain.

Looks like Bane releases those prisoners anyway lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

wow, Bane looks better than he did in Batman and Robin.

You say that like it's a tremendous achievement.

Catwoman still looks kind of odd and out of place, though. Everything else looks awesome.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

Bane looks best in the justice league Doom animated movie.

If you have seen that movie the way Bane f's with Bruces head is the way he should always be. I think this time with catwoman, Nolan would have been better off just using her comic style costume.

Okay, this just pisses me off to no end that they were thinking of adding my Riddler and then didn't.
F U

EVERYONE thought the Riddler was going to be the villain in this movie. So I guess it shows that Nolan isnt predictable.

Before the villains were announced I was hoping that it was going to be Riddler and Bane working together. Riddler serving as the Brains, and Bane as the Brawn. But it appears Bane in this movie is both, making him Batman's toughest challenge and a fitting villain for the end of the series.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

My choice for Riddler is still Crispin Glover (he was George McFly).

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

Before Ledger was announced there were rumors that Glover was to play Joker.
But I think he'd make a better Riddler anyway.

I would have liked to see how Riddler could fit in this universe. But it would be hard cause he always kinda
came off as a bit goofy to me. Not that he's bad but they'd have to make him a truly insane individual in order for him to work in these Nolan movies.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

I could def see the riddler working in Nolan's universe if they just didn't make him a little p#*sy. That's why scare crow wasn't that good of a villain. The joker wasn't physically strong but at no point did he seem vulnerable at all and that's why he was a real threat. I'm glad they chose Bane though cause I want to see some good fights along with him being smart on top of that. It'll be different from the last movie for it. He's got his own thing going where I feel like people would compare the riddler too much with the joker.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

New trailer, two days old though.

Im starting to get the feeling that they are overhyping the movie with the number of trailers they keep releasing.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

What do you guys think will happen after TDKR? How long are they going to wait before releasing a new Batman movie? What kind of reboot will we get?

I remember reading somewhere that a new batman movie is getting planned for production after man of steel, not directed by Nolan nor with Christian Bale as Batman though. So we might get a movie late 2014, if what I read is true. Also I think they will be developing the movie to fall in line with the rumored Justice League movie.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

Nolan did a great job and did his dudy with his 3 batman films, but we need a more imaginative director for future batman films. And we cant just have the same realistic rehash over and over again with people trying to copy's Nolan's style either. That would certainly be the downfall of batman films. (besides Batman and Robin that is)

I'd like to see a batman movie where you can actually have villians such as Mr Freeze and Clayface.

However if we are going for another realistic batman, I'll make a few exceptions. I think David Fincher of Fight Club and Se7en fame could do it. He could pull it off with his unique way of showing things.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

Yeah I heard they were trying to make one more in line with the justice league so its def gonna have at least more of a comic book feel then the Nolan trilogy. Coming from someone who loves the Nolan movies, they are too realistic for that tone to work alongside characters like superman. I feel like the arkham games nailed that perfect balance of dark and some what realistic with that comic book touch. Hopefully it'll be more like that and not be another origin story.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

How many of you think the Dark Knight rises movie will be worse than playing Arkham City story mode?
