The Conspicuous Consumerism Thread!

I care
This stuff for a Sega Saturn, like, to mod it?
I'm going strictly off filenames in the pictures.
In terms of retro gaming,
I would want these systems back in my collection:

A Super Nintendo

Nintendo 64

and these two:

I have a Nintendo 64, and Playstation 1. But I lost the tv cable to by SNES. Still luckier than most to have what I got though.

I want to be a Photographer or Short film maker after highschool

Me too Vital! Except I want to make real movies and be an animator.

need to get around to buying a speaker system that you can plug your ipod into.

But I want one that doesnt sound shitty and make a cackling noise when you turn it up loud.

Jonesin' pretty hard for one of these ('12 Mustang), which I drove this afternoon. I hadn't even considered one before. Now that the V6 version is actually worth driving (and pretty cheap; the V8s are just too much, get worse mileage, and cost more to insure vs. a modded V6). I can't see a reason to not make it my next car in the summer of '13 or so, with the pictured performance package, same color, if it's in the cards for us.

Then get new intake,
new exhaust,
new injectors
supercharger...
Oh boy. :|

Yeah I've never been one to care about car speed. I don't get adrenaline rush from them or anything. And I don't really feel special about being able to drive fast.

I'm a Point A Point B kind of guy. So I just always go for high gas mileage cars. Honda Civic 2010 I got now drives at about 37 miles per gallon. Great for driving to tournaments.

I enjoy fast, nimble, fun cars. Driving is one of the few things I've any aptitude for, so I enjoy it a lot. You spend a lot of your life in your car--years, actually, similar to how you spend 40% of your life asleep--so, I figure the cars I drive need to be fun to drive, fun to be in, fun to look at, etc. And it's not just about speed, it's about handling too. There are plenty of places with fun, twisty roads, and you'll want something then that can slip around those corners and leave a grin on you.

Not to mention the plenty of tracks that are open to the public for a small fee for weekend road-racing. To hell with that light-to-light drag racing nonsense.

Besides, if you were serious about gas mileage, you'd own a Diesel car. 45+ mpg. Like a boss.

Diesel is more expensive where I'm at. My friend has a Diesel car and we always take my vehicle because it's still cheaper.

The only thing I like about vehicles is how comfortable it is on the inside, gas mileage(gotta be decent), and the way it looks.

I LOVE the way a Challenger looks, too bad they were like 35,000 dollars. I would pay for a cheaper slower/gas mileage version if one was ever available. But they are designed to be gas guzzlers. So I settled with Honda Civic.

The top two are stupidly expensive up-scalers made specifically for old-school consoles so they look awesome on an HDTV. The third one's a Saturn Action Replay 5 in 1 cart that works as a region bypass, cheat device, memory backup, and 1MB/4MB RAM cart for some SNK and Capcom stuff.

And yeah, last one's a Saturn mod-chip. For like, you know, "research" and stuff.

I remember those RAM carts being really expensive and wanting one more than anything so I could get an arcade perfect version of the original MvC.

The only thing I'm really wanting is a table saw and maybe 3 more of these (I already have 1) so I can build some arcade controllers. Wanting to to have 4 arcade sticks - 2 for MK and 2 for SF style games. It'll happen... one day. :(

Was MvC on the Saturn? I didn't think the Saturn was still being supported when that came out. But yeah, at one point there was nothing I wanted more than a RAM cart and X-Men/MSH vs. Street Fighter. I couldn't find them anywhere and eventually gave up.

The final days of the Saturn were so sad yet exciting as hell. I still have my copy of Radiant Silvergun as a "badge of honor".

Yeah, it was Marvel vs SF that I wanted so badly. I had a friend who paid close to $200 for Radian Silvergun. Great game.

More real possibility than ever now. Priced one at a local place and they were willing to make me a great deal even before I asked if they could do a better price than MSRP. They undercut that by like 2200. Makes me wish I didn't have to wait practically 18 months to get my ducks in a row. Fuuuuuuuuuuuu.

Street Fighter x Tekken, I know it's not released yet, but I'm suddenly becoming very impatient for it.
