SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

If ONLY it were that simple lol but I guess that's what the comic's for... Oh GOD you guys don't think Daegon could be the final boss do you???

No, we already know that MKX is all about generations, the boss is the offspring of Meat and Mokap. Yup, Meat is not a guy she's a flat chest girl.

MK1-9 are absolutely true and have directly influenced Raiden's behavior.

A little off-top:

I think it's strange that everybody consider MK2011 to be "MK9" because of stupid MKvsDC game which has nothing to do with the real Mortal Kombat. MKvsDC shouldn't be "MK8" and should be omitted in "counting" like e.g. Street Fighter x Tekken. For me MK2011=MK8 and MKX=MK9. I know I can't change it - Boon himself calls MK2011 "MK9". Nothing's left but to deal with it.

Yes but now it makes more sense for MKX because it is MK10 and 10 = X in roman numbers.

Boon already stated it is named X just because they wanted to, not because it is the 10th game, but still... it fits perfectly.

On the one hand, I agree that counting MK vs DCU is strange.

On the other, this game deserves a clean break from the previous ones, and X represents that. So, y'know. It is what it is.

It's true, the "X" connotes "10" and the situation is "deepend". I think despite the next MK having only a subtitle (like e.g. Deception), it will be still recognized as 11th instalment.

And nothing will change that so people who get annoyed because of that must just accept that, there's no other way.

Armageddon is still happening. Raiden just made sure Shao Kahn wasn't the one to reach the top of the pyramid and get Blaze's power. NRS still has a LOOOOT of cleanup work to do.

We still have Blaze and Pyramid of Argus too. It would be interesting to see how the timeline will play out when there is too many strong warriors in the realms and there is no Armageddon. Maybe all of the realms will fall part because things will be too unstable.

With Armageddon, it was plan to be the last MK game on the PS2 and Xbox and they were going to kill off everyone to have a clean state. That's why the original MK8 was going to have a brand new characters with only having Scoripon, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Sonya, Kano and possibly either Liu Kang or Taven returning.

Thank the Elder Gods there are people out there who knows this!!!

Raiden only postponed the Armageddon, he only changed the timeline by avoiding Shao kahn to exist on the same moment that happened on the unchanged timeline.

Raiden avoided HIS DEATH, the way that happened, in the hands of Shao Kahn.

Armageddon is the numerous kombatants creating instability among the realms. And now we have more kombatants. There is no way to avoid the apocalypse, we just don't need to see it on a game.

Because they are counting the major releases and whether you like it or not, MK vs DC was a major release. It wasnt canon but it was still in their main series of games

Guys,MK9 is a complete reboot ..it's borrowing some elements from the other MKs but it's deffinetly a complete reboot.

Some characters simply don't exist anymore. Example :Drahmin

"I AM the flashing lights and special effects."

MK9 was a series reboot in terms of gameplay, not story. It begins right where Armageddon left off and the whole story is based around Raiden changing the old timeline. If it was a complete story reboot, there would be no old timeline.

There is no way to avoid the apocalypse, we just don't need to see it on a game.
They can indefinitely delay it by preventing Onaga's return. I think we're gonna see that happen in either the comics or the game's story. Raiden might kill Shujinko and hide the Kamidogu away, or defeat Blaze and the dragon priests guarding Onaga's egg in order to deal with the egg somehow.

Shinnok's invasion is still gonna happen, but hopefully we don't see a repeat of the Deadly Alliance and Onaga storylines. They need to stay in the (alternate) past.

I really hope Armageddon doesnt happen again. End of the world / extinction level event storylines are some of the most overused and cliche stories ever. Its such lazy writing.

The Matrix with the machines
Resident Evil with the nuke
Mass Effect with the reapers
Mortal Kombat Armageddon with Blaze
Avatar: Last Airbender with the Comet

 Next time, please have a spoiler tag. I haven't bought the game yet.

As for Armageddon, I think it's unavoidable at this point. Whenever the series hits an actual end, then can pull it off once more. Maybe make the final boss whoever destroys Blaze and threatens the fate of the other kombatants.

What makes you think Drahmin doesn't exist?

I think he didn't meant that Dhramin doesn't exist, he meant that he isn't relevant anymore and there's no need for him to ever appear again.

Or at least that's what I understood from what he said.

Onaga's return is not a necessary event for Armageddon.

Armageddon is caused by people causing chaos and threatening the coexistence of the realms.

Onaga was someone who advanced this process because he almost reached One Being level by joining the Kamidogus and having the Amulet.

Onaga, Shao Kahn, Shinnok...Armageddon is bigger than them.

ujustgotcaged, it's the inverse idea. MK9 is the retold of the story, but with other approaches, some retcons and lots of new things prior to Raiden changes. But they are not borrowing, they are developing those stories.

In fact, they see some characters don't interest them, so they just give up talking about them, or kill them, or just a cameo.
