SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

Could be older Cassie? Who knows. All I know is that the amount of returning characters from MK9 is going to end up being more than MK4- or new characters.

Depressing.

Lame we didn't get a preview this week. I'm most excited for this one too, because we find out Kotal's origins.

Also, guess what? In eight days (chapter 7 on 2/15), we find out whether Erron Black is the fallen ally or not. Should be exciting.

We'll get it tomorrow, I'm sure. Not the first time.

Yeah Kotal Kahns Origins is getting me excited

And as far as Erron Black, i got a but of twist in my head about his identify or affiliation with other characters.

Should be interesting none the less!

I look forward to Kotal Kahn's origins as well. We can know where he came from since we never saw him in the original timeline from MK4 - MKA.

Baraka wouldn't side against Mileena. I'm pretty sure that Tarkatans will make up the bulk of her army.

I agree, I mean baraka was the 1st in line to Suggest Mileena take the throne when Shao Kahn was beat and thought dead from Liu Kang. If this is the case maybe Baraka can have a better role instead of a lapdog

I've been thinking on some cool possibilities for Kotal Kahn's origin and his name, and why he wasn't active in the old timeline despite looking ancient (remember, the new timeline only deviates after the point of divergence that was when Raiden received the message from the future in his amulet, during the first Mortal Kombat).

And I think it would be really cool if we learned that "Kahn" was the title given to the advisors/generals/warlords that served Onaga in ancient times.

Shao Kahn and Kotal Kahn could have both served under Onaga as top generals, and when Shao Kahn did his coup d'etat and poisoned Onaga he would have also take care of any possible rivals to him taking over. Shao Kahn could have done his great purge and Kotal Kahn got thrown to a bottomless pit, a prison, or some magic curse, so we never saw anything of him.
But in the new timeline Shao Kahn's defeat at the hands of the Elder Gods releases Kotal from his prison, or someone manages to go rescue him now that Shao Kahn isn't around to keep an eye on things.

I think that would be a cool option in terms of respecting plot and giving Kotal the status as candidate for Outworld leader.

I have a feeling that Kotal Kahn was in total slumber for many years and was awaken by the death of Shao Kahn in MK9. This could explain why he was never seen or mention in the original timeline since Shao Kahn never died in the original timeline. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi only killed a clone of Shao Kahn in MKDA.
